View Full Details of Lady Spencer HouseMy mum came to Lady Spencer House about 18mths ago from the moment we were shown around meeting staff we knew mum would be happy here, she settled in quickly she loved the staff and the staff loved her. Unfortunately, mum became ill her last weeks although very sad to watch someone fade in front of you, all the staff and management were 100 per cent there for mum and us, went above and beyond. You really couldn’t have asked for anything else at this sad time thank you all.
My mum went to Lady Spencer House in the last few weeks of her life and I just cannot thank you enough for the wonderful care and support the whole team gave my mum and our family - nothing was too much trouble and we were welcome at all times of the day/night and always going the extra mile. A huge thank you.
I can not thank the care team enough for caring for my mum in her last week's. They showed true care, respect and dignity. The dedication and support were appreciated by all of our family. Thank you all.
My mum has experienced a sudden decline in her health, so going into a care home came as a shock to her. She has been t5eated so kindly, with a real sense of understanding by all the staff. There is a cosy atmosphere and the food is of an excellent standard. I am very grateful that my mum is in a safe and caring environment.
Staff are caring although, at times, due to staff shortages residents have to wait when they ask to use the toilet. Activities for the residents has been very limited and the activities organised are not always appropriate for the needs of some of the residents. Meals look to be good although very seldom do those in the upstairs lounge appear to be offered condiments of vinegar or sauces with meals. In the past items, such as slippers, have gone missing even when named. Over the past year, the flooring in the rooms has been replaced and new carpets in the upstairs lounge have been laid along with new curtains in the rooms. The sinks in the rooms are a little tired and storage for soap etc. is limited as the cabinets are small.
My husband has been in care at Lady Spencer House for over 5 years. In my opinion, the staff are very helpful and caring and I have the greatest respect for how hard they work to look after the residents.
I am more than happy with the care that my mother is receiving. Staff are all, always friendly. I do have one question, why is there not an optional menu on Friday's? Not everybody likes fish.
Mum was always adamant she didn't want to go in a home. However, she became frail and confused and there was no other option. She is treated with respect, gentleness and genuine care. She has become reliant on the carers and shows great trust in them. We are extremely appreciative of all they do. When we visit staff are always welcoming. Mums appetite varies and care staff work hard to accommodate this.
I am very happy and pleased the way my wife is treated at Lady Spencer House. I think the staff are really wonderful. My thanks and gratitude to them all.
Mum has been at the Lady Spencer Home since March 2014. We have had no problems with previous and present staff, there were hiccups along the way but they were quickly resolved by the staff. The only concern is at present that other peoples clothes keep finding their way into her room, this is only minor. Because mum has bad dementia she does not ask to be taken to the toilet, which can result in her getting a lot of water infections.
I am very happy with the care my granny receives. She is happy being in Lady Spencer house. I am disappointed with the lack of activities for the residents. The staff are polite and most of the staff will help if needed. I don't like when a resident is calling for someone and they get ignored.
I've been here 7 1/2 years. I'm happy here.
I'd give the staff 10 out of 10.
