View Full Details of The White HouseMum has been resident in The White House for 1 year this month as she needs 24-hour care and supervision. We couldn't be happier with the care she is receiving. The management team are brilliant, between them and the seniors there isn't anything that can't be sorted. We are kept fully informed of what happens with Mum, we get regular newsletters, phone calls and emails. They have been fully supportive of us personalising her room so she feels at home and comfy. The range of activities on offer is good, they even have an external art and craft company come in to do sessions! They have also been doing planting in the garden getting it summer-ready which she loved. Mum has been on outings, gone for walks and been to Church, they have singers come in and they put on a great family and friends Christmas get-together with the residents. The staff team at The White House are all really friendly and good at what they do, they genuinely care and understand Mum well and she's happy there.
My Mum arrived here 3 days before Covid lock down, so the last 3/4 years have been a difficult time for everyone. The Staff were most helpful in helping with phone calls during quarantine, despite her hearing loss. They continue to be understanding and compassionate as her health/dementia deteriorate. They all seem like a happy team which adds to the positive atmosphere which we experience when we visit.
My mother is receiving good care and attention. The home is not purpose-built and does need some TLC.
My mum was on palliative care and bed bound. She had mixed levels of care, depending on who was working. She was on purée food but still given biscuits. She couldn't reposition herself in bed but was given a lidless cup. A little thought when dealing with her would have been helpful. Mum passed away at the end of October. Staff were very kind to her in her final days. I think the shortcomings were due to lack of training and guidance for staff, especially new staff.
My poor mum was a resident. Sadly she is no longer with us. The White House staff were amazing looking after my mum and the other residents. It is a tough job to do. I have nothing but 100% respect for the staff of the Whitehouse.
Whenever I visit my friend, she appears to be happy and content with life in the home. The home is warm, comfortable and has a pleasant atmosphere. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. My friend seems to enjoy the meals at the home and has enjoyed a healthy life since living there.
My mother went in there in August 2022. They made her feel welcome and relaxed. She soon settled in there. They looked after her very well. She had a nice room overlooking the back of the home. She felt safe in there. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The staff were very caring with her. It is safe and secure in there. All the staff are brilliant. They also made me feel very welcome.
Mum was very well cared for in The White House. The staff were lovely, friendly and very caring. Whatever we asked or concerns we had were dealt with. The Christmas dinner you all did for us, so that Mum could have her family with her, was amazing and the staff worked very hard to achieve this. Mum certainly enjoyed her day. We were kept up to speed with everything that concerned Mum. Thanks to all the staff that looked after us.
My mum has been at The White House Care Home for nearly two years and suffers from dementia and immobility. The White House is small with a family feel. The room is a good size with an ensuite and all Mum's personal things are around her. The level of care, in my opinion, is of a high standard. When I visit I stay for two days, 10 am to 6 pm and I am with my mum the whole time, watching TV or in the lounge or dining with the other residents. I, personally, very much enjoy my time there with my mum. The staff are always ready to help, we have little birthday parties, family gatherings. There are always activities being organised. The management team are very good and they answer any questions that I have by return. Picking a care home for your loved one is very stressful and emotional. I am just so pleased that we found The White House, it shone above the others and now I know my mum is happy, safe and secure. For this, I will always be very grateful.
My mother has been in The White House since August 2023, she is always praising the staff and the food, she is far happier now than she was in her previous home. I visit as much as I can and always find staff friendly and professional, food always looks tasty and presentable.
There are no words that can say how amazing The White House and its staff have been. We were so very lucky yo have been able to get our mother into this care home. They have had the most difficult years with Covid, but have all been able to show love and support for us as a family. They are the best and beautiful, caring people.
Home is kept very clean and tidy in spite of accidents. The home is safe and secure. Residents are allowed to move around unrestricted areas of the home using assistant equipment as it is necessary. Good area of decking facing South in the garden which is efficiently secured without restriction.
The Whitehouse staff and management display such care and love to my mother. Without a doubt, her dementia presents many challenges but their practice and professionalism is excellent and allows me confidence that she is safe and cared for. The environment is one of a large family and rooms feel personal. I would highly recommend the home. The Manager always ensures any issues are communicated and always available and approachable.
Found it hard to settle in. The staff were very kind.
I would like to take a chance to say what a lovely home The White House is. The people that look after you are so thoughtful and helpful.
On the whole, everybody tried to help you. I find the toilet roll very poor and I use my own all the time. The manager tries very hard to please everyone.
My Father has received excellent care during respite periods at The White House. He has Alzheimer's and is extremely anxious and frightened when he cannot see me or is left alone. The Manager and staff always make sure that wherever possible during the day he is not left on his own. They have untold patience with his repetitive questions and are totally professional making sure that he always feels safe and secure at all times.
A caring and loving staff.
I attended the home for an event they were holding. The home was very clean and smelled pleasant. The staff were welcoming and friendly. I enjoyed the activities the home out on and would recommend the home to others.
Very good care given. Food good. Home clean, all I wish for.
