View Full Details of The EdwardianMy dad has been moved to The Edwarian Care home for a couple of weeks for Respite care. I have just positive words for the service received. My dad sounds very happy and he is already engaging in activities. He is eating and sleeping well. The home manager has been brilliant from start, she has explained everything and kept the family informed. The staff, on arrival, were just brilliant - they ensured my dad received fruit and a snack and he is well looked after. My dad is one tough person to deal with but the staff have been extremely patient. if I could give a score of 10/10 I would.
My mother has recently joined there. The staff are very kind, and my mother physical health has improved. Once lockdown finishes, I hope to get the know the staff better. I would certainly recommend this home.
I usually visit my sister once a week. I book in advance (when I visit the week before). I have to have a weekly Covid test on arrival and wait for the results before I am allowed to see my sister. I am left alone with my sister and have to buzz to get out. I'm offered a drink when I visit, but what do when I want to use the toilet. I would imagine I would have to buzz (I am unsure of this matter).
I visited my wife in the care home on three occasions. All the staff were very welcoming and showed me to a visiting room where my temperature was taken because of Covid-19 security measures. On two occasions, my wife and I were offered refreshments, which was a great surprise and pleasure, knowing how busy the staff must be. At no time was I asked to end my visit, and I could have stayed longer on each occasion had I wished. My telephone contacts with the staff were cordial, and the manager was exceptionally helpful and caring. My wife made no complaints about the home or the staff, and I had a very favourable impression of a caring and well run establishment.
The manager and all of the staff have been outstanding from day one. I am so happy my mum has found this place as her new home. Understanding and very helpful staff. Keep it up, and thank you for making our family feel this way, thank you.
My mum spent six weeks with the team at The Edwardian over Christmas and New Year due to emergency respite. The team were amazing, so friendly and caring, nothing was too much effort or trouble. They went over and above helping with WhatsApp video calls to ensure we could see Mum during a really difficult period. Huge thanks to the manager and the team.
The manager and her staff have looked after my uncle for a number of years. I cannot thank them all enough; they are always so caring, professional and friendly. The place is spotless and never smells like other homes I have been to. Nothing is too much trouble, and you always get tea and biscuits when you visit, whats not to like, highly recommended.
