View Full Details of Pembroke CareI booked a 3 day stay at Pembroke Care as I was not sure whether I would need nursing care after an operation. My recovery was good and I did not need nursing care but a warm sheltered environment staffed by dedicated carers, available 24 hours, was very reassuring and helped my recovery. My room was warm and comfortable and I had access to a dining and sitting area and a garden. The staff were very attentive to my needs and were professional and genuinely caring. Thank you all for making my stay and recovery period both comfortable and pleasant.
Pembroke Lodge is a small personal care home where my mother resides. I have always felt the staff are caring and attentive. Mum suffers with dementia but she seems happy and comfortable there. They are very accommodating when we request to visit Mum.
All the staff who looked after my late father were so efficient, kind, caring, honest and totally professional. We, as a family, are truly grateful that my father received excellent care. From start to finish, Pembroke Care looked after my father so well. Thank you so much.
My mother was treated with such care and kindness during her final year of life, at the Pembroke Lodge. It was so reassuring for her relatives to know that she was looked after with such care, professionalism and love. Thank you to all at Pembroke Lodge.
The staff were great and made the birthday celebration special for my father, they went the extra mile! Thank you all for what you are doing for him. He was fully engaged in the experience and he and his family members had a lovely time. God bless.
My mother has been a resident at Pembroke since 2019 and we have been very happy with her care. We were fortunate that, with the help of technology, were able to maintain good communication links with her during the difficult Covid years. The carers are wonderful and the owners/managers are always available to discuss my mum's care.
My father recently passed away aged 99 at the Pembroke Care home. He had been a resident there for over 7 years during which time the staff and management at Pembroke Care looked after him extremely well. When he first moved there after a minor medical emergency he was able to live in his own apartment across the road from the main home giving him the independence and privacy he wanted. As his health gently declined he was able to move into other parts of the care home which were able to give him closer supervision in case of emergencies like a fall. I live in Asia but managed to see him reasonably frequently. The staff always made it easy to visit at any reasonable time and I was always pleasantly surprised how unfailingly kind and gentle they were towards my father. Caring for the old cannot be an easy task and they always seemed to do so with constant cheerfulness and warmth. I cannot recommend Pembroke Care Home highly enough.
My father has been a resident at Pembroke for over 5 years, he has been looked after very well and the staff are very friendly. Due to his condition, he needs a lot of attention and in spite of this, he is healthy.
My mum has stayed in Pembroke Lodge since May 2021, and we have always found the staff very good & caring, providing great care & support to my mum who has dementia & Alzheimer's. The home is small & friendly & there is a lovely garden to sit out in, in the summertime.
Mum has been living with Pembroke Care for about 18 months. In that time I have had nothing but praise for the staff there. The carers are all very helpful, and pleasant and nothing is too much trouble. Mum is well cared for and although at times she can be confused and unsure of where she is, we can see she is generally happy in a calm and caring environment.
My mother has been a resident in Pembroke Care for 4 years, and this is an update to a previous review. I would like to extend again my gratitude for the care provided and am particularly thankful for the systems put in place by the Deputy Manager. For example, the relationship between Pembroke Care and the local GP surgery is excellent, meaning that any health concerns raised are dealt with promptly and professionally.
Friend seems well looked after as in clean clothes and environment is clean. I appreciate that older people can be stubborn but not aware of much happening to stimulate. As far as I know no complaints re food.
My Father is a resident at Pembroke Lodge and is thoroughly enjoying his stay. The staff always seem helpful and caring as well as extremely communicative. The food is always good and with the pleasant surroundings and garden a joy to walk around.
The person that I hold POA for is undoubtedly in the care home best suited to her needs though there are some criticisms mainly in the lack of stimulation though this is partly the fault of the resident that I hold POA for in that she does not relate well in any way to the other inmates that she comes into contact with and she protests that the TV is on too much. This aside, she is very well cared for in terms of her physical requirements. The Care Home has responded to the request for extra bedding and her en suite lavatory and shower is spotless and safe. She is in a spacious comfortable room. A safety rail has been placed on the side of her bed and a good lamp makes it easier for her to read. I feel that the proprietor really cares for my friend's welfare - he and his chef have now supplied two lovely parties for birthdays. Her friends are always welcome to visit and they are offered coffee etc. The stability of the staff is also good and that means that my friend is understood.
I have always been treated with courtesy and friendliness by the staff who greet me and they are helpful in getting my friend ready to go out and especially help with getting her to or from the car. They also make visits when we don't go out as comfortable as possible. All my requests to management are answered quickly and positively. A calm, quiet life is provided for my friend which is what she likes. A few more events/activities would be appreciated but I know my friend is fairly fussy!
Pembroke Care offers an intimate warm environment for my mother. It has the look and feel of her old home with wonderful gardens to explore and enjoy. The transition from one's own family home to a care home must be a testing time for a new resident but my mother was made to feel one of the family from the first day. She has been at Pembroke Care over 2 years and is comfortably settled in enjoying the relaxed homely atmosphere. All the team at Pembroke Care are diligent, serene, attentive and above all understanding to both the needs of the resident but also their families. My mother's Birthday was celebrated as it would be at the family home with banners, balloons, decorations and cake. None of this was requested by us, Pembroke Care just laid it on - as is their way. It makes you feel that your loved one is in the best of hands and they really care about them as much as you do.
My mother was a resident at Pembroke Lodge until her death earlier this year. She had come from another Care Home which was adequate but nowhere near as nice as Pembroke Lodge. The staff here are both knowledgeable and really caring, the food was excellent and although my mother had diminished appetite, the efforts made by staff, to provide fresh fruit and food was excellent. There is a lovely garden and all residents were treated with respect. I am very happy that she had the experience of staying at Pembroke Lodge with the kind and caring family atmosphere it has.
The staff are very attentive to my friend's needs, wishes and concerns. He is taken seriously, and if there's a medical need, they respond without delay. They treat him respectfully and with great concern. I am very happy with his care.
Pembroke Care Home is a lovely place. All the staff are very helpful and polite when you visit the home. When you telephone to see how a resident is, the staff will always give you an update on that person. When visiting, all the residents seem relaxed. I have visited a few more other homes before Pembroke, and Pembroke is very well run. I can feel assured that my relative is well looked after. The only negative is it was easier to be able to just arrive instead of having to book your visit. But I can understand why this is done.
Mum always seems extremely happy and clean, her hair washed and nails painted, and she is always praising the staff. The staff are so caring, very attentive, supporting her every need. Would highly recommend this care home.
