View Full Details of Mulberry HouseMum was staying as an emergency respite from the beginning of December to the end of February. This was her first time in a care home and so our first experience and there have been complexities for us as a family, particularly due to the distances involved between myself and mum. Throughout this whole experience I have been able to call mum regularly and I speak to a member of the care team most times who always give me an update on mum. Whenever she has seen a health professional the home calls to let me know the outcome. We have needed extra support at times and nothing has been too much trouble and I can't praise the team enough as they have not only looked after my mum, but they have supported me during an incredibly difficult time and I am incredibly grateful to them all.
My mum was in the care home between January 2020 and December 2025. It is always a difficult decision to move a loved one into a care home but from the moment we undertook our initial visit to assess the home, we felt completely reassured and could see the family atmosphere within the home. Every family member and friend who visited the home always complimented the staff with their welcome and hospitality. My mum was always well-presented and we knew that she was always treated with respect, and love and care. The activities arranged were varied and encouragement was always given for the residents to join in. We have many wonderful memories of her time at the home and the care provided.
Staff is very caring and helpful. Management is good. I feel safe and happy.
My overall experience since I arrived at Mulberry House in February 2024 has been excellent from all staff including care staff, cleaners, cooking staff, and activities organiser. A big thank you.
I am very happy to be at Mulberry Care Home, all staff are very helpful and caring. Any concerns or problems I may have, I am confident would be sorted out as soon as possible.
In the 2 years since my Mum moved into Mulberry House my trust, appreciation, and respect for them has only grown. There are always plenty of staff, and they have always been friendly, professional, calm, and kind in the way they deal with both my Mum and me. Recently Mum’s condition has deteriorated, she’s been spending her days in bed. When I visit, over the course of an hour 3 or 4 members of staff come into her room to check on, feed or talk to her. She’s not forgotten! We’ve bought a wheelchair suitable to spend the day in and now she has a sling and hoist so she can spend the day around people again. There have been a couple of times that issues have had to be raised, especially in the first few months when Mum was not happy in the transition to living in a care home rather than her own home. These were dealt with promptly, openly, and professionally. It’s a weight off my mind to know that Mum is safe and well cared for. I would recommend Mulberry House.
What a wonderful place for my father to live in. Nothing is ever too much trouble in looking after my father. All the staff, from the cleaners through to management, are thoughtful and caring. The communication with relatives, I have always found to be excellent. It feels very much like a family. My father's needs are well catered for, and any queries from myself are answered very quickly. A big thank you to everyone at Mulberry.
My father has been here for over a year now and couldn't be happier. He is back to full fitness and so happy. He loves working in the garden and tending to the flowers. My sister and I are so grateful to all the staff and management for all the help and support for our dad and ourselves.
My aunt has been a resident at this home since late 2021 and I can honestly say that I have been very pleased with the level of service and care that she has received during this time. The staff and management are always friendly and helpful, and will always keep me updated with anything that they feel I should be made aware of. As difficult as my aunt's condition is, I am confident with the quality and experience of care that she is receiving from all of the staff. Also, I like the various activities that are organised for the residents, and the recent garden party for the residents and families went down very well. All I can hope for is the best for my aunt, and I believe that is what she is getting here.
I cannot possibly explain how good the care has been for my grandfather at Mulberry House. He is beyond happy and truly enriched with the vast variety of activities which are often adapted to meet his individual interests. The staff go above and beyond to look after him and communicate with us as a family. They all seem genuinely concerned for his wellbeing and nothing is ever any trouble. They have gone above and beyond since he moved in to make sure he feels like he's at home and the small touches like a party for this birthday which we could attend continue to make it feel like he's living in his own home for both him and the family. Thank you Mulberry House staff and management for all you have done and continue to do.
Mum has been a resident at Mulberry for almost 3 years now. We are extremely pleased with the care she receives. Staff are fantastic and it is obvious when we visit that Mum has a lovely rapport with them. Mum is happy and occupied. The activity programme is excellent and it is lovely to see all of the photos every week of what has been going on. Management is also excellent. Always on hand to answer any queries and always update us on any issues Mum may have. They have worked tirelessly to keep everyone safe through the pandemic and at the same time providing a safe environment for us to visit. We couldn't wish for Mum to be in a happier safer environment - it has a lovely family feel. Thank you as always Mulberry.
My father has been a resident for more than 18 months and seems very happy in Mulberry. He is always very clean and responds well to the cheerful carers. During his residency, most weeks being under Covid restrictions, he has faced a number of health scares. As a family we were regularly updated with any information, movements to/from hospital and Dr visits. Carers call on a daily basis inquiring as to his health whilst in hospital, all of which reassures us that they genuinely care! The management team are very informative and seem to support the staff well, whilst maintaining good discipline and motivation. Despite ongoing Covid restrictions, the home have managed visitors by creating a clean and safe visitor room. Posters and photos keep you informed as to the many activities carried out during the day; which seem to be enjoyable to all residents, judging by their smiling faces.
We as a family have been very pleased with the care my father has received from Mulberry House. It's been a very difficult time for everybody, but we feel it's been handled as best as they could by all the staff at Mulberry. Things are certainly looking up now, let's hope it continues. Many thanks to all the staff.
The staff here are excellent and they have contributed hugely towards my father’s improvement in health and quality of life. They are helpful, friendly, accommodating and keep us updated with all matters in regard to my father. My opinion is the management seem to have their fingers on the pulse of all aspects in caring for the residents. I believe the care home has recently been adopted by local authorities which is an indication of the higher standard of care now displayed at this institution. My congratulations (and thanks) to all the staff for their achievements.
Very pleased with the care my wife is receiving.
My mother has been a resident at Mulberry Care home for nearly two years, I am very pleased with the care home, the staff are always friendly and helpful, They have an activities coordinator there five days a week who organises different activities with the residents every morning and afternoon, they do exercises, singing, bingo, baking, knitting, painting, planting seeds in pots, and many more, they have a theatre company come in sometimes to put on shows for them to watch and they have children from schools come in sometimes to sing to them too and they’ve also had therapy dogs and small animals brought in for them to see and hold if they want to. Whenever there is a birthday they have a party with a birthday cake and candles. They take photos of the residents doing different activities and put them on their Facebook page for family members to see, which is great. I know that my mum is very happy and well cared for there.
My Grandad is currently residing in Mulberry House and has been for the past 2 years. I have always liked the home, but since the new change of management who has then brought in more staff such as an activities person - I can see such a big change for the better. I always feel welcomed when I visit and love the idea of having a facebook page in which I can look at pictures of what my Granddad has been getting up to! You can tell that this home is a very caring home, and it makes me feel more at rest seeing how it is like my Granddad has his own little family in the home when we cannot make it in to see him. Cannot recommend Mulberry House enough - if you want somewhere that puts your mind at ease then here is perfect. Thank you for all you do!
I attend Mulberry House on a daily basis. Ever since there has been new management and a new activities coordinator the home has lifted and become amazing! The residents are much happier there are always activities taking place on a daily basis. The residents are going on outings. They celebrate the residents' birthday without fail. Overall its such a happy bubbly home and there is always a smile on the resident's faces.
Never underestimate the guilt and bureaucratic and confusion regarding helping a loved one enter a care home suddenly. It has been one of the most stressful times of my life. However, the staff at Mulberry House have been amazing. I have not only felt supported as a relative but also I have felt that through this difficult transition for my mum, they have been amazing with her. She has struggled with accepting her new life and certainly the limitations this has brought. The manager and all the staff have been at her side the whole time, identifying her needs on all levels (emotionally, spiritually, physically, intellectually) and helping her to not only feel she has at home with them but also a purpose and a future. Thank you all .
I find the staff very patient and caring. I am impressed to see them sitting with some residents downstairs. Either to do their admin work or to entertain the residents. The fact they are sitting with them must be very comforting and reassuring for them. The food is much better than I expected and much better than in other homes I visited. There is variety on the menu. The residents can choose and also can ask for something they like which is not normally on the menu. My aunt can have breakfast in bed and has the toasts she asks for. You can ask anything that is reasonable and the staff will do their best to get it. The only shortcoming I would complain about is about the confusion of the residents' clothes but the situation has improved. I am quickly informed when my aunt is not well and the staff call the doctor rapidly.
