My husband enjoys the family atmosphere and obvious friendliness at Applegarth Care Home. I always feel welcomed and happy that I moved my husband here. My family recently visited from abroad and felt the warmth from the care team and very happy with the care my husband receives.
Mum is very lucky to be in such a caring care home. The staff make the home very friendly and the staff are dedicated to the residents. Great food, lots of activities, and very patient with my Mother.
My aunt is very happy at Applegarth. The staff are kind and friendly. There have been a few issues regarding clothing going missing and haircuts, but nothing serious.
As an ex-resident of the home, I can offer nothing but praise for this home, the staff and the care they provided you could not wish for more, and I wish them every success in their expectations both staff and residents. I found the premises very clean, the food was excellent and they have a cook in a million she is very understanding and helpful. Love and best wishes to all.
I had a very nice experience at Applegarth Care Home. The staff is very nice, friendly and kind. Very polite to all the residents and helpful. All the residents are so happy here. They have a very welcoming environment.
A lovely, homely atmosphere with really friendly staff. Everyone is always really welcoming, and it's great to see residents so happy! Communication is also spot-on, and all queries are dealt with promptly. Well done to the whole team!
My mother has lived at Applegarth Care Home for over three years now, her health is much improved and she is very happy. All the staff are absolutely marvellous, kind, caring, compassionate and always very welcoming when we visit. I have peace of mind that she's no longer on her own or worrying she's wandering outside her home, she is being well cared for and my heartfelt thanks goes to all those lovely carers, they do a wonderful job.
My partner was in Applegarth Care Home from February 2023 until he passed in May 2023. staff were brilliant from start to end. Very kind, caring and respectful. They not only care for residents, They looked after men as well. I still go into home to see staff and other residents.
I can only praise the care home for the way all the members of staff cared for my husband while he was their patient. I can recommend the home without reservation and will always be grateful.
I generally try and visit mum as much as possible but when ever I visit I am always made very welcome by the staff. Mum is always very appreciative of all the hard work carers put in to make sure her life is as easy and enjoyable as possible.
Overall, the care, compassion and dignity shown to the residents is excellent.
The staff at Applegarth are very good with residents. They do activities with them and temperature checks are done throughout the day. Mum always looks clean and tidy. Their meals look very nice with a nice choice on the menu board and always offering drinks and their time and the care staff are very friendly with us when we visit.
My father has just spent his first month at the care home and we have been delighted with the quality of care provided. The staff are all friendly, approachable, caring, and patient. We have complete confidence that my father's well-being will always be put first by the caring team at Applegarth. His room is always clean and tidy and my father enjoys every meal served. Thank you Applegarth Care Team
My friend recently moved to Applegarth following rapid mental deterioration. Although not a 'super smart' place, the home appears very homely and the staff are very friendly and caring. My friend has settled in very quickly and says 'she couldn't be in a better place and the staff 'can't do enough' for her'. Whenever I've phoned the manager and staff are very helpful. In person, they are welcoming and caring. I cannot answer all the ratings as have not seen or experienced them.
I visited my mother within a covid secure environment, the experience was excellent and very well organised. The staff are always very attentive and you can see they bring the very best out of Mum, I could not ask for any more.
Over the last 12 months Mum's health, both mental and physical, has posed challenges and I am grateful to the staff for their professional abilities to deal with all that life has had to offer. Their kindness and patience have been exemplary. During the lockdown period, the small physical size of Applegarth has meant that space is at a premium, but again, the staff have worked hard to keep activities and entertainment going. The better weather coming will be a bonus to everyone. The plus side to the size of the home being that the atmosphere is more homely than a Care Home. Keep up your exceptional work, Applegarth.
My mother is in Applegarth Care Home as she did not wish to live alone after the death of her husband especially as she has dementia. The staff at the care home are very friendly and there are plenty for the number of residents. The staff know the resident's family and encourage them to stay in contact. The staff arrange plenty of activities for the residents to take part in if they wish to keep them active in mind and body, as well as keeping them supplied with drinks and cakes between meals. The staff have asked about family members whose photos are in her room and they encourage her to talk about them. My mother thinks she is in a guest house or hotel as it is very homely. My mother celebrated a big birthday in January 2021 and although the family could not be there because of lockdown the care home made it a special day and took photos to send to the family on the day. My mother is very happy there and we the family know that she is safe and extremely well cared for.
I have always had peace of mind that my Mother's needs are met, both physical and emotional, she is always happy when I visit her. I saw a massive weight drop from her shoulders since she moved in Dec 2016. She had no more worries and stresses and started enjoying life again. I can honestly say that she has a better quality of life since living at Applegarth, rather than living alone for some years. The staff are amazing and I have nothing but praise for them, particularly this last year. As an NHS worker, I fully appreciate the hard efforts they have made to keep the residents and themselves safe and well in extremely difficult circumstances. I am always singing Applegarth's praises both personally and professionally and will continue to do so.
This care home seems very friendly and welcoming. They have planned activities and they fundraised to give the clients some special days out. They have a nice garden when the weather is good. The food menu looks and smells very good. The only one thing I would say is it would be nice to have another room as when visiting it can be very busy.
