View Full Details of Eton HouseMy mum was admitted to Eton House initially for 4 weeks of respite care in October 2020 after her dementia deteriorated rapidly. Fortunately, following some challenges during the overall care assessment period, it was finally agreed that she could remain for her long term care needs at Eton House On the day that we took her in, we knew that this was the right place. Immediately you are impressed with the attitude to care, the compassion of all the staff towards both me and my family as well as towards my mum. Nearly 9-months on, we are so grateful to everyone at Eton House for the care and the quick inclusion into the Eton House family. The staff are always attentive, and you never feel that anything is too much for them. The accommodation and activities are first class, and the residents even have fish and chips every Friday brought in from a local fish and chip shop. Thanks to everyone there, we can sleep that little bit easier each night knowing she has the best care in the area.
Excellent care home with very high standards and good communication from the staff.
The care throughout the Covid pandemic has been excellent. The information sent out each month, to family and friends is very reassuring, especially at this difficult time. We thank the staff for all their hard work.
My mum was admitted to Eton House in January 2020. She had dementia and required constant care. Mum settled in extremely well right from the very beginning. The management team were very professional but caring and friendly. The activities organiser was very enthusiastic and very warm as well. Whenever I visited, Mum was well dressed and clean. The individual rooms were cleaned daily, and the food was excellent. The staff were always very welcoming and friendly too. Mum was well looked after physically and mentally. Our permission for health appointments was made when required. Mum was clearly very happy there from the very beginning. She had her favourite members of staff, and they were also very fond of her and looked after her very well indeed. Mum became ill in October, and the love and care shown to her and also to our family, by the staff exceeded all our expectations. We cannot thank the home enough for all that they did for Mum in her final year.
My lovely mum went to Eton House in January 2020 just a few weeks before it went into lockdown. The great care and reassurance that this was the right place for Mum began when my sister and I visited Eton House a few weeks earlier. Mum settled in very quickly and had a lovely room. I liked that I could visit whenever I wanted to and when I did, I always found Mum downstairs in the lounge and not left in her room. In the few weeks of normality, I liked that there seemed to be plenty of stimulating things to do at Eton House. The staff often sent me videos of Mum dancing and singing, which was lovely. The staff did all they could to ensure we could see Mum during the lockdowns. During Mum's last few weeks of life, the care they showed was exceptional, including the day she died. This also extended to her funeral when every staff member came out to pay their respects and lay a rose on the hearse. Eton House has reassured me that care homes can be happy and safe places for loved ones.
