What a little gem. We didn't realise quite how very lucky we were as a family when we came across White Lodge. We had been on a journey of Mum struggling to live alone, to visiting carers then to live in carers & finally recognising that she needed a round-the-clock presence keeping an eye on her....a hard decision indeed. The love, care & dedication from all the staff is palpable; they recognise that each person is an individual with their own unique needs, wants and view of the world & they are treated accordingly. Mum has now been in White Lodge for approximately 2 years - so just as the world was opening up again - & we have watched the tireless and ongoing efforts to upgrade the accommodation; painting, repairs, and replacing furniture. All the things are put on pause through necessity. White Lodge is the best place for our Mum being small & intimate; she would be completely overwhelmed by anything bigger. She loves to watch the changing seasons in the garden, sit in the sunshine & just be.
My mum has been in White Lodge for nearly 2 years now. Recently she wasn't well and needed to go to hospital for some investigations. On her return her care has been kind and patient and she is now back up on her feet. I can't compliment the team enough. I drop in unannounced a few times a week and I have witnessed at first-hand how both the residents and visiting families are treated with kindness and respect and lots of cups of tea. My mum, who can be a tricky customer, says they are wonderful. We can't quite believe how lucky we were to chance upon this place. I have never seen an agency nurse. It's like a family, a home from home. Highly recommended.
My mother has been in White Lodge for over 2 years now. I wrote a review some time ago, sharing my positive views on the care home and it is time for another. I continue to be amazed at the dedication of the team and the attentive, loving environment created by them for my mum and all the residents. In addition to this, whenever my family visits Mum, and my father goes almost every day, we are welcomed with open arms, and a cup of tea! I know my mum is in a safe place for her. Although because of her Dementia, she is unable to verbally communicate, we are confident she feels comfortable and cared for by staff who respect her and work with her to meet her needs. Thank you to all at White Lodge for all you do.
My stepfather came to White Lodge for respite care in March 2024 as he was living alone at home and kept falling due to his lack of mobility and onset of dementia, my sister and I lived a daily four-hour journey from him, which made it very difficult to visit regularly especially when he became so poorly. He has since stayed permanently. We came to look at White Lodge as it had been recommended and was under new management, it is such a lovely warm comfortable home, and the staff and new manager are excellent in their care and support, and we have peace of mind that my stepfather is being well looked after. It is like home from home, very friendly and the residents have their own en suite rooms the garden is beautiful, highly recommend it.
My father spent the final two years of his life at White Lodge. The care which he received was exemplary. The staff were, without exception, caring, compassionate and very professional. We never had any concerns for his well-being. We would recommend White Lodge without reservation.
My sister was a resident at White Lodge Care Home from the end of November 2022 until the end of December 2023. On coming out of hospital my sister needed ongoing care which unfortunately I was unable to supply. I had visited several Care Homes before choosing White Lodge. The staff and management team are very warm and welcoming. They have provided an excellent standard of care and support, empathy and understanding for my sister even when she was in an uncooperative mood (due to her dementia). My sister loved singing and joining in with the various activities at White Lodge encouraged by the lovely staff members. It was a great relief to find such a brilliant care home for my loving sister in her final year of life's journey.
My whole family and all the friends who have visited my mother are delighted with the support and care she has received from staff at White Lodge. It is simply a delightful place - very attractive and comfortable with a feeling of home. Plenty of areas to relax in and enjoy. I am so impressed with the speed of anything that needs doing - doctor's appointments, chiropodist etc. and the follow-up is exemplary. The food is very nice too and the grounds and views out across the countryside are unmatched in the area. White Lodge is so well situated. Most of all every time I visit my mother says how wonderful, kind and respectful the staff are to her. She loves them. It gives us all the sense of peace and safety we were hoping for. White Lodge is a blessing!
My mother came to White Lodge for respite care in November 2023 and stayed! It was a difficult time for us as a family as we always thought we could look after her. Sadly she was living with Lewy body dementia and we struggled to cope. White Lodge is the most warm and welcoming home that I have seen. It feels like a large family house. The rooms are large but cosy. Communal areas inviting. Lovely gardens to enjoy in the summer. The staff are so caring, aware of the resident's individual needs and quick to respond. Lots of activities and also quiet spaces to enjoy. I can only say that the understanding and support that the White Lodge team show my mother enables us to feel confident and secure in the knowledge that she is a cared for member of the white Lodge family. Such a difficult decision to take when considering residential care for loved ones- I can only say that I sleep well at night now knowing that my mother is cared for by safe and gentle hands.
My father-in-law has been a resident at White Lodge for a year now and we are very pleased with the care and support he receives. The Staff are dedicated and extremely caring when dealing with him. The Staff also support us with any concerns we may have about my father-in-law and are always keen to help and provide for his individual care/needs. The home is very relaxed and friendly and the staff always welcome us. The home has a beautiful garden which he enjoys, either for exercise or just enjoying good weather. He is gently encouraged to join in with activities. The rooms, including his bedroom, are a good size and are cosy and well-furnished. We are really pleased to have found a home where he is well looked after, happy and safe.
A lovely, friendly and caring home where we feel our father is being well cared for. Always made to feel very welcome and the staff are constant and always smiling. Very happy to know that he is in a very homely environment.
My wife has been a resident for ten months and settled in quickly due to the warm, friendly and homely atmosphere. The management and staff work effectively as a team and show great patience and care in meeting the needs of the residents.
My mother moved into White Lodge in March this year and I have nothing but praise for the wonderful staff who care for her there. Mum always has a smile on her face when I go in to visit. The home is comfortable and spotlessly clean. As visitors, you are made to feel so welcome. I do not worry about Mum as I know she is in very safe hands and if there is ever a problem the communication is brilliant. Would not hesitate in recommending to anyone needing this facility.
