View Full Details of Sonning Gardens Care Home - Avery CollectionI am very happy with my room, and the carers are very helpful when I ask for help. The care of my room is very well looked after and any help I need e.g. towels etc. is well catered for. I enjoy the peace and quiet of my room with lovely views of the garden etc.
A very enjoyable care home. Everyone is so very nice and I am enjoying every day.
The staff here have always been attentive and care for your needs. The establishment us warm and welcoming. I am very at home here. The room is fine. Warm regards.
My room is quiet and have lovely view out onto the garden. The staff are helpful and friendly and are always there is I need help.
Mum was very poorly when she moved in last June. She was not eating properly and was becoming very isolated. She is now so much better, she is eating well and joining in with many activities provided, which she enjoys. She says the staff are all so kind and caring and she is lucky to be there. I have noticed several staff have left/retired recently. I hope they will be replaced.
I live at Sonning Gardens Care Home. I find the home and the staff very caring, food very good plus cleanliness plus I feel safe and secure.
The staff were really helpful and accommodating when we needed to move my mum in for respite care. They made the transition very quick and straightforward. Mum was made to feel welcome and settled very quickly and the staff were brilliant with her. She has remained at Sonning Gardens after the respite period and is doing really well. She is well cared for, there are plenty of activities for her to get involved in and overall she is very happy there. The environment is well cared for and the gardens are lovely too.
I am really impressed with Sonning Gardens from top to bottom. What lovely people the staff are. Nothing is too much trouble and Mum and Dad are really well looked after. Clothes are beautifully laundered (unusual in most care homes!) and their double bed is changed weekly and always looks nice. The only slight negative I have is that my dad struggles with the food. He likes the soup, but finds the main course are either too soft (the fish with the sauce and mash) or a bit overcooked. Sometimes they are a bit cool after coming up on the lift.
Sonning Gardens is a wonderful care home, more like a hotel. The care and wonderful staff make my father's stay overall a great experience, although he would rather be at home, he realizes that he needs the care and attention that Sonning Gardens can give and we know he is in safe and caring hands.
Mum has been a resident for nearly two years now. She is looked after very well, and the home is a very welcoming place for all visitors. The staff are wonderful.
My husband has settled very happily into the Woodlands Dementia Unit. I think he feels part of a family group there. All the staff are very kind and caring, and very patient with my husband's communication problems. He enjoys the food and the activities provided, especially the musical entertainment in the bistro.
Very welcoming reception and so relaxed and 'at home'. The staff at all levels are so kind and helpful and try to make each day a pleasant experience. I and other visitors are always made welcome. Despite the limitations of dementia care is taken with communication and making choices.
From the second my dad arrived he was treated with the respect he was entitled to. The manager was amazing as were all members of staff. In a way, my dad was in the best place when he passed away. So glad we had that for him. Many thanks.
My mother has been at Sonning Gardens for nine months. She had her 100th birthday here. The care and overall experience at Sonning Gardens have been excellent. She has always commented on the kindness of all the staff. The medical care coordination with the local general practice has been wonderful. We are very grateful.
I am writing to emphasise just how much my family and I value and appreciate the care that my dad is given. His main carer has created a robust routine for Dad which ensures he lives to the very best of his abilities. She updates us weekly and is always there to answer our questions and offer support. In my opinion, she goes above and beyond to help Dad. She is an angel on earth. Dad thrives under her care and we sleep at night knowing he is safe and supported. Thank you.
Sonning Gardens is an excellent care home and in my opinion one of the very best. The excellent staff provide high-quality care which is respectful and considerate. The activity team is particularly good but in fact everybody working there is good. My only concern has been with finance which appears slow and remote. I have seen my mother's health improve thanks to the staff at Sonning Gardens.
Overall Sonning Gardens is an excellent care home. All the staff have treated my mother with great care and professionalism. The atmosphere at the home always feels warm and friendly. My only complaint is that the management company's billing system leaves a lot to be desired!
Staff lovely. Sometimes Mum finds the choice of food not great for dental issues (dentures). Room-too warm. On the whole very good but it shouldn't be, it's very expensive!
My mother has been cared for in Sonning for 5 years, coming first for respite over a hip fracture. She decided to stay. Her needs have changed over this time and she is more frail and has a dementia diagnosis. All the staff have been amazing and supported her and me through all these changes, including the pandemic years. Sonning Gardens is a wonderful environment and I have nothing but praise for the holistic care provided.
My husband was admitted for palliative care. I cannot fault the service. Every member of staff is so helpful and friendly.
