View Full Details of The Croft Care HomeMy Mum in law was admitted to The Croft in March 2024 due to her dementia getting progressively worse. She stayed at the home until 7 November 2024 when she passed away. During her stay we found her to be safe, happy and well looked after. She spent the last 8 months of her life happier than we have seen her in a long time. To all the staff at The Croft we would like to say a very big thank you for treating my Mum in law so well.
My husband received excellent care for the time he was a resident at The Croft Care Home, Amersham. Staff were very caring, cheerful and smiling and he was very grateful for the exceedingly good care he received. In my experience, every member of staff, from the office staff to the carers, knew exactly what was going on regarding my husband's health needs. Communication is obviously key between staff. A well-run care home who do their very best to provide the best care possible. Thank you everyone.
Thank you to all the staff at the Croft. Truly amazing care and compassion. Nan has been at the Croft for a year exactly. In that time, celebrated her 100-year birthday and all the staff have simply been the best right up to the end.
My mother has come on leaps and bounds since being in residence at The Croft. She has a full diary of stimulating and enjoyable activities, so much so, that you have to work your visit to avoid any clashes, as nothing comes between her and her mid-week bingo. Her medical needs are assiduously catered for and she has reclaimed her vim and zest for life. It is remarkable when I think of mum when she was first admitted. Her mood was low and her eyes had lost their sparkle. Now, she finds joy in her day and that is very much down to The Croft and its staff and all the tender, restorative care they administer, not just to her, but all the residents they look after.
The staff at the Croft are very caring and accommodating. We have a relative who is a resident at the Croft. She is well taken care of and the admin have been very kind in allowing day outings. Although we now live in America, the staff at the Croft are excellent at communicating and keeping us informed with regard to all issues, particularly those relating to our relative's health. I highly recommend the Croft due to the high level of service, willingness to work with the families of the residents and high standards of cleanliness.
My mother has been here for the last year and she has improved, healthwise. She is very well looked after by all the staff. The staff spend a lot of time with her and make her laugh. She is really happy here and I could not wish for better. 5-star treatment from the manager all the way down to the cleaners. Superb!
The Croft staff are helpful and caring and have created a safe space for residents. We feel, as a family, that we are listened to and heard and that Mum is in the best place she can be, with opportunities, company and stimulation as well as thoughtful care.
It's comforting to know that my mentor/good friend and ex-boss is being looked after and cared for by staff who really do seem to care. Have always found the staff to be friendly, helpful and "receptive" to suggestions about additional support, needs and attempts to get my friend more engaged with/aware of her then-new, now old, surroundings and other residents. It's given me, her friends and her god-daughter peace of mind.
The home is friendly, clean and healthcare is first-rate. My mother at 93, has come on in leaps and bounds, with respect to motivation and well-being. She is always given respect and support. She is now being engaged in social activities which are giving her added motivation.
The Croft is a clean, modern Care Home in a good location. It is well staffed although there seem a number of part-time staff which can affect continuity. The residents' rooms are bright and the bathrooms are spacious and well appointed. The day rooms are similarly clean and well appointed with fairly attentive staff offering drinks etc. and also checking blood pressure and temperature. Meals are served on a regular basis and appear to be of a good standard and nutritious resulting in my Mother putting on weight which was needed as she is quite frail. Overall, I am pleased that Mum has been placed into The Croft.
My mum has dementia so it's very difficult to know exactly how she finds everyone and the care she receives at The Croft but from observing on my visits, she seems very well cared for by friendly, thoughtful staff and seems to be very happy with life at The Croft.
My uncle's Dementia came on rapidly, and after a hospital admission, I had to make the really difficult decision to put him in a care home, as he needed constant care. I went to visit The Croft, and met with the manager and was shown around. It was so homely and the staff were so friendly, I chose for my uncle to become a resident there. We could visit any time of the day or night, or call at any time. Apart from the way they cared for my uncle, they also helped me to get over the terrible guilt that I felt for not being able to keep him at home. After only being in The Croft for 2 months, COVID hit and I could no longer visit him. The Croft made it very easy for me to FaceTime him at any time, which I can still do in between face-to-face visits. He has been there for 3 years now, he has gained weight and is thriving. I am kept up to date with all his health and care needs, and never worry that he isn't being cared for. Thank you to the manager and her team.
My sister has been a resident at The Croft for a year and has enjoyed her life there enormously. I visit her weekly and she is always cheerful and content. The staff are welcoming, courteous and efficient, while the residents are clean, neatly dressed and obviously well cared for. The Croft is well-designed and purpose-built with wide corridors and spacious rooms. It is always spotless and tidy. The secluded garden enclosed on three sides by the buildings is an ideal suntrap for those who wish to sit outside under the various shady umbrellas. I would heartily recommend The Croft as a care home.
Friendly, caring, efficient, professional, resourceful, smiley, entertaining, comfy, clean and great food! Did I forget patient? The team ensure Dad is safe and well, despite all his quirks and wanderings. Well done and thank you.
My Mum has been well cared for in her time at the Croft. The open policy means that we can go in at any time unannounced. I have always found her to be clean and very well cared for. I think the Croft are doing a great job and my Mum is happy there.
My father moved in during the first lockdown he was welcomed with open arms. The staff were very reassuring and kind to him and he settled in very quickly, despite all the restrictions at the time. He has now been there for over two years and feels totally at home. All his needs are met and exceeded. The staff are in regular contact and his care plan is reviewed and kept relevant. There are plenty of activities if he wants to participate. Staff always go the extra mile. Residents are all treated with kindness and dignity. Would recommend The Croft 100%.
My friend has just recently been moved into a dementia unit. The staff are so welcoming, loving and caring, showing respect and empathy to this resident. I have seen them sitting by her, holding her hand, reassuring her she is loved and valued. They are patient, explaining things to her, listening to her wishes and concerns. She is now so much happier and settled. The staff are always welcoming and friendly to me, always offering a cup of tea.
We chose The Croft for our mother after looking at various care homes in the area. The staff are very friendly and kind, and my mother has now been a resident there for nearly 2 years. She says the people are lovely, she is well looked after, and has put on weight (which she needed to) due to the nutritious regular meals served. We have always had great communication with the staff, even though I live in Canada and my brother in Scotland, so we are not close by. During lockdown, the staff have done their utmost to keep the residents safe and entertained. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about The Croft.
My mother has been at The Croft Care Home for over two years now and she is very happy there. She has made friends with the other residents and likes all of the staff who she comes in contact with. Since my mother has been at The Croft Care Home the staff have been friendly, welcoming, caring and they always inform me if my mother has been ill, had to see a doctor or any other issue that I might need to be made aware of. During the Covid-19 lockdown we were kept informed of progress at The Croft Care Home and we are always able to call by phone or video call when we want to speak to my mum. I would recommend The Croft Care Home to other people as a friendly and caring home for any relative.
The Croft Care Home is an excellent care home and I have no hesitation in recommending it to others. The Covid-19 precautions are thorough and I feel safe when visiting my parents, inside or outside the care home.
