View Full Details of St Leonards Care HomeMum has been with St. Leonard's for two years now. As a family we are completely overwhelmed by how wonderful this place is. The staff are all warm, professional and so, so caring. Mum is not able to speak, but they always understand what she needs. They know her as a person and have always actively made sure that she joins in with activities she loves and let her be if she isn't interested. The atmosphere is relaxed and that is why the residents are so happy. The home and the grounds don't feel like a clinical environment, they feel like home. Living so far away, I am totally secure in the knowledge that the staff are not only keeping mum safe but are actively ensuring that she feels loved and cared for. She is thriving at the age of 85 and that is a wonderful thing.
A year ago I was faced with making the hardest of decisions knowing I could no longer cope at home. I visited many care homes, after repeated word of mouth recommendations, I visited St Leonard's Care Home. From the minute I stepped in it felt "right", a home away from home. Where I still have input in my husbands care, but he is looked after by a team of people with competence and compassion. I wanted somewhere where the TV wasn't the only activity, somewhere warm (in every way), comfortable and clean. Somewhere I felt confident he would be well cared for. A year on I can say I've found it.
I just love St Leonards Care Home. What a wonderful care home, all the staff are welcoming and friendly and they genuinely do care that mum is as happy and comfortable as she can possibly be. Her bedroom is spacious and everywhere is extremely clean. There are small courtyard gardens as well as larger garden areas which enhance the living areas and are lovely in the summer. The food looks really good and the menu is varied with lots of refreshments being served through the day. I know Mum is being care for with respect and dignity in an environment that manages to be spacious but still feel cosy and homely. I feel my Mum is valued as an individual and everything possible is done to make her feel respected and a part of the St. Leonards family. It makes such a difference knowing she is being cared for so well. I can't thank the staff enough.
My mother has been at St Leonard's for over three years. She has been treated with respect and is very well looked after physically and mentally. Any concerns relating to her health are quickly dealt with. She is stimulated by the great variety of social activities on offer. The home itself is warm and cosy, and very clean, very much a home from home. The manager is very approachable, as are all the members of staff. I would have no hesitation, at all, in recommending this home for a loved one.
As soon as we walked into SL care home we knew that SL was the care home we wanted for our dad. It was the friendly, family, happy atmosphere that impressed us so much. From the initial visit through to the application and moving-in process, all the staff have been brilliant, helpful, sensitive, and welcoming. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable and we have been encouraged to take any of Dad's own possessions in that will help him feel at home to make it his home! The communal areas are lovely and bright looking over beautiful views of the gardens. There is always organised activities suited for all abilities and the residents are encouraged to join in. It's wonderful to see Dad taking part. All the residents are all treated with the utmost respect and dignity. All staff show everyone their love, and care of the highest standard. We truly cannot praise the attitude, professionalism, and dedication of the Management and staff. And would recommend SL Care Home without hesitation.
When my dad first became a resident, it took him a little while to settle in. However the staff were professional, patient and considerate and were able to accommodate his initial difficulties. Staff reassured him and over time dad has been able to settle. All the staff that I have met have been kind and caring. Dad has enjoyed the numerous outings and activities organised by the home. I know that he is in safe hands.
My Mum has been with St Leonards Care Home for two and a half years now and I don't know what I would have done with out them. They are great at what they do and keeping up with Mum's for ever changing situation. They are great at being inclusive to all and encouraging Mum to join in. I feel welcomed when I visit and feels like I am visiting mum at home. Thank you to all the staff for all there hard work a lot of it which we do not see.
My husband has dementia and from time to time needs to have respite care to enable me to have a break and re-charge my batteries. After over 60 years of marriage, it is very difficult to leave him in someone else's care but I couldn't have been happier with the care he received at St Leonards Care Home. The manager and his team couldn't have been kinder and the care was first class.
Husband was full of his experience. Before, he had always protested 'don't put me in a home', but after being in St Leonards, I know he would like and benefit from a return visitation in the near future. What is more, I would benefit from respite care, knowing he would be well looked after.
I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to anybody needing caring, nurturing, good-quality care for their relative. It is small, homely and has become part of our family. The management and staff are knowledgeable, and nothing is ever too much trouble. We are kept informed of concerns etc, and the respect, love and care they show towards the residents is superb.
Sadly my mum passed away at the end of February. Mum joined St Leonards in October 2020 during the Covid pandemic. After settling into life at St Leonards, Mum had a marvellous time. The amazing kindness and care given by the entire team were exceptional. I cannot thank you enough for taking such wonderful care of Mum and making her part of the St Leonards family.
Never had any complaints about any member staff - all 100 per cent plus.
My mother has been at St Leonards for three years, on the whole over this time she has been treated with care and support. With the unprecedented circumstances of COVID-19 I feel the home and B&M Care have managed the situation very well and have kept us up-to-date with the ever-changing situation. It is a testament to the staff and the manager that as of this date they have had no positive COVID-19 cases and have continued and continue to provide a brilliant service.
St Leonards have looked after my mother, who has dementia, for two years now. The staff are able and caring. Visitors are treated with respect and kept informed of developments and events. The Coronavirus situation was handled extremely well, with no positive cases. This is due, I am sure, to the exceptional skills and forward-thinking of management. I feel extremely well reassured. St Leonard's has a wonderful dedicated team.
My aunt has been at St Leonards for over 7 years. The care in the home is excellent, they treat all residents with dignity, love and treat them like one of their family. The home always makes you feel welcome, is always clean and smells fresh. Her clothes are always clean and she is well looked after. She is always saying that the staff are lovely and food good. I would like to thank all the staff for making a happy home for all the residents.
My Mum has lived at St Leonards since November 2019. She is very well looked after in every way. The staff members are all so helpful and caring, ensuring that all of the Residents are happy. There are many activities that they can take part in if they wish and they are encouraged to do so, which means that they socialise more than maybe they did when they lived in their own home. My Mum is now eating better, she loves the food they provide, she feels safe, she is making friends and she is very happy to be living there. I too am delighted that she is living there, as they really do make everyone feel that they are part of a family. During this Covid-19 time, they have been especially vigilant in their care, which is a reassurance for the families of the residents and we have received a newsletter each month informing us of the situation in the home.
Friendly and helpful staff, will always take the time to talk to you about any issues you may have and how to resolve them. Good level of service provided for my grandfather and he is very happy and can't find too many things to grumble about.
The home is very well managed. The Home Manager provides regular updates and chairs frequent relative's meetings. Staff are professional and caring. In particular, my aunt's transition to the home was done with tact and care; it was not an easy process. My aunt frequently raises issues and concerns about the home which I pass on to the office who respond quickly. In almost all cases these issues are more as a result of my aunt's misunderstanding of her surroundings rather than some fault of the home. I do have to make my own arrangements to meet my aunt's need to attend church and other outings. Whilst the home do have transport, I would like to see her being taken out occasionally. Having said that my aunt is not particularly sociable and so maybe rejecting offers. I have never been concerned as to my aunt's welfare at any time since she has resided at St Leonard's.
Whenever visiting my father I am always impressed with the welcome I receive from all of the members of staff. My father always seems happy and well cared for and loves all the attention he gets. The home is bright, airy and a very pleasant atmosphere. Although we never know our destiny, I would be more than happy to think I could spend my final days in a home such as St Leonards.
I feel very lucky knowing that my uncle is well looked after at St Leonards Care Home and that I do not have to worry about him. I cannot fault one aspect of care and support provided by ALL the staff, everyone is extremely friendly and treat my uncle as if he were their own. All staff take time to chat to him and go above and beyond when it comes to his care and wellbeing. The staff are very approachable and nothing is too much trouble. They take the time to know their residents and their needs. During the Covid-19 the staff have worked immensely hard and taken on extra shifts to ensure that his care remains of a high standard. No one has experienced any illness during this period and they have made sure that I am kept informed about his well being during this difficult time, providing regular updates. I don't feel like he is in a care home, but in a family unit where he is loved and supported. He couldn't be happier which is my main priority. I would highly recommend this home
