View Full Details of Old School HouseFabulous home. Staff are incredibly friednly and my mother-in-law is so happy at the home. We were very lucky that a room was available for her.
My mother resides at the mentioned home and I have to say how much she loves her time at Old School House Longwick. It is a very clean and friendly home with very nice and caring staff. On Sunday 26th Jan 2025 she celebrated her 100th birthday and the home had a very nice party. Mum saw the whole of her family and thoroughly enjoyed the day and buffet. A lovely big cake. Keep up the good work.
When Mum got to the point that living in her own home was no longer viable, we feel fortunate that we found the Old School House - the staff are very kind and caring, and it has been notable that there has been little turnover in the team over the past year. This has helped Mum to settle and feel looked after, and it says a lot for the staff and management of Old School House because the turnover of carers can so often be a problem in other care situations. We are very appreciative of the care and attention that Old School House delivers.
Mum has had a rocky few weeks one way or another but Old School House have helped mum recover and settle again. Not ideal that mum will be in a care home for Christmas but feel that at least mum will be in good hands.
Dad moved in, in November after a stay in hospital. I haven't seen my dad look so well in a while, food is excellent, tea, snacks on tap. Staff lovely.
My father moved to the Old School House November 2024 after a long stay in hospital. The aesthetic of the house is beautiful. The staff team are very welcoming and friendly. My dad has settled well, very good food, dad enjoys his food. The management team are very approachable, helpful and very involved with the residents.
Lovely home, my friend is so happy and looked after well. The staff and the manager are friendly and caring. It's such a welcoming home to all.
When my Mum's respite placement ran into difficulties, upon recommendation I contacted 'The Old School House' to see if they could help. It was all very last minute and I was beyond fortunate they were able to offer her a place. It is a small, intimate home and everybody there could not have been more kind, helpful, and caring of her and supportive of me. Mum was well cared for, respected, and a valued member of the home during her time there and I cannot thank them enough for the care and compassion shown to my Mum.
What a relief to find such a lovely spot. We appreciated the enormous flexibility during Mum's admission. The staff are all so kind. The place feels more homely than others visited. We feel very fortunate to have found this little gem.
Staff are always very friendly, and they treat Mum with great care and dignity. They are also very accommodating when Dad wants to visit. It is a small home, which is what was required for Mum. She always seems very content and looks very tidy and presentable.
Our dear beloved mother spent the last nearly eight years of her life suffering from vascular dementia at The Old School House in Longwick. It is a residential home that specialises in caring for the elderly, especially those with dementia, treating residents with much compassion and professionalism. For our mum, the care she received over the period that she was resident was excellent, with good, nutritious food cooked daily, which our mum really enjoyed. We were also able to visit unannounced at any time of day. In the last week of her life, Mum was given palliative care; I was with her when she passed away peacefully in a place that was home for her. She was as happy as she could be in the loving atmosphere of the Old School House. We are eternally grateful for all of the excellent loving care she received from all of the amazing staff who kept her safe, secure and loved. It will be very strange not to visit this lovely home where Mum was treated with dignity.
We had a tour of the Old School House and felt it was the right place for Mum. Family run and only eleven residents, it felt like more of a home than the larger purpose-built facilities we had already visited. The staff are friendly. Dad visits regularly, and despite initial reservations, he is reassured that she is safe and well cared for; they make him welcome and even feed him if he’s there at meal times, and having a sweet tooth, he loves the tea and cake in the afternoon! Mum is a challenging person - dementia is a cruel disease, and we appreciate the patience that is needed to care for her. I would give it 4.5 stars if I could.
The care that my mother receives from all staff at the Old School House is exceptional. All her needs are constantly cared for by very professional staff with a lovely personal touch. She is very impressed with the food, as I am. Meals are always the highlight of her day. Her room is comfortable, warm and well-equipped. I really can not think of a better place for my mother to be.
The Old School House is a lovely, small, family-run care home, well-organised with caring staff and excellent communication at all times. It may lack some of the facilities of the larger purpose-built residential homes, but we’ve found the smaller size and personalised approach make up for this, and our mother is much happier and settled here in this ‘homely’ setting than she was before. We have been very happy with The Old School House and the care it provides for our mum.
When my sister moved into the Old School House it was way above anything I could expect the manager went out of her way for us all. Since my sister has been at the Old School House she has improved so much in her general health, she seems well cared for and all the staff are very caring towards her. My sister has a lot of friends and family that come and see her at the Old School House, everyone has commented on how lovely the Old School House is very personal and the small size is wonderful. I cannot fault the staff for the care and the management we have been very lucky to have found the Old School House and there are no visiting hours which is great we can go and see my sister anytime.
Friendly and welcoming, flexible visiting and happy residents.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Residents always seem very happy and very well cared for. Resident food always gets a very good review.
My experience is the personnel have always been very helpful in arranging visiting times and very friendly. My father seems very happy and is treated with respect. He is always being offered drinks such as cups of tea etc.
The team at Old School House put on a fabulous event for the residents and family. Live music, amazing food and if desired a glass of wine. The team at Old School House care home are always considerate and caring. I couldn't think of a better place for my dad. Thank you.
One of my oldest friends has been a resident in The Old School House since she felt unable to cope alone in her own home. I have visited her regularly for several years and have always felt very welcome on my visits. My friend is happy there and has received excellent care. The small number of residents contributes to a friendly, family atmosphere.
