View Full Details of Abbeyfield HaddenhamWhen Mums mobility reached a stage where she could no longer manage independently in our own home, we searched high and low for the right place for her to have well supported residential care in an environment where she could be happy, content and well cared for in a family friendly atmosphere. When we showed Abbeyfield to Mum, she loved the setting and the fact that it was a relatively small care home where she immediately felt at home. Mum has her own en suite room with lovely views out into the well maintained garden. All the staff know her by name and she is excellently carer for and can't speak highly enough of the staff and the care she receives. Visiting is easy and visitors are always made welcome and encouraged. Food and hygiene is of a high standard, and it is no coincidence that Abbeyfield has been voted best care home in Buckinghamshire. I would highly recommend Abbeyfield to anyone who is looking for a small, independent and high standard care home.
Mum is in her 90's and has lived at Abbeyfield for almost 4 years. During my recent visit, as well as every other time I have stopped in to spend time with her, I have been made welcome. Mum has lovely relationships with all the staff and management. Staff are always kind, caring and responsive when caring for her or if she needs something. In fact, in all this time staff have been the same people. I feel that her care (medical, dental, podiatry, optical) is very well coordinated. Her room is comfy. She has a small patio with access to the lovely garden. She mostly enjoys the meals, and there is always something on the menu that she quite likes. There are only 11 rooms for residents so it is easy to know everyone. She enjoys the regular exercise classes, plays scrabble, there are frequent music programs and several other special events and outings arranged by staff and the board.
