View Full Details of White Plains Care HomeIf you are reading this review it's likely you are researching where can you find somewhere for a loved one to go, whether it be for respite care or as a full-time resident. You will not find anywhere better than White Plains in my opinion and I researched extensively. The team at White Plains are exceptional - the care shown not only to those staying but also the huge support given to the families is incredibly valuable and you feel so included. The care is superb and such a sense of warmth and belonging - match this with the outstanding cleanliness of the accommodation and the beautiful grounds you really won't be disappointed. It's a hard time when a loved one needs to adjust their life and one full of emotion but choosing White Plains is one less worry.
Nan was a resident at White Plains for 15 months, at first she was unsettled but within a short period settled in well. She enjoyed joining in with activities provided including gardening, crafts, musicians and outings to local shops and village hall etc. I must say I was very happy with the activities provided, on many occasions when I visited I saw staff interacting with residents, they also organised tea parties, live music and events where relatives were invited to come and enjoy. Residents are not sat in front of the TV and left for the day like I have seen in other places. The care provided is first class and they keep you informed if your loved one has any issues etc. The home is kept to a high standard and very clean, Nan had a room with a view over the front gardens. The outside areas and gardens are kept to a high standard which residents can enjoy weather permitting of course. Overall the team at White Plains did a great job looking after my Nan.
Warm friendly and professional staff. Buildings and gardens all clean and cultivated. A building full of love and joy.
Mum was a resident of White Plains for three years until she passed away in March. During the time she was a resident her health slowly declined due to illness, and her needs became more complex. But we were assured that White Plains was a home for life, and Mum did indeed consider it her home. The care Mum received was always first class, at times she could be strong-willed but this was met with humour, patience and always care and respect. Activities were available and Mum was included as much as she wanted to be, especially enjoying outside events and musical guests. Mum also liked time on her own in her room which was always accommodated. Being independent in earlier years Mum appreciated residents' meetings and having her voice heard and opinions sought. All the members of staff that we interacted with were pleasant, polite and dedicated to the residents and unfailingly kind to any visiting relatives.
My mum enjoyed her three-week stay at White Plaines. She found it to be a very caring and homely place. She is very pleased to be back in her own bed, as was a bit uncomfortable in the care home bed. The staff were very caring and excellent.
She came to White Plains for respite, flowing surgery at the hospital. Time period for two weeks, and I think I made a good choice in White Plains.
My husband spent the last 18 months of his life at White Plains and passed away there on 12 February 2024. He had Alzheimer's and his decline was gradual. The staff followed him and me on this journey, supporting him and me more and more as his Alzheimer's progressed. In the last few months, he was bedbound, and a full-body hoist was required to help him. The home's motto is that the place is the residents' home for life and nobody is turned away even when their care needs increase. The care was second to none. They deserve the 'outstanding' rating. All staff are dedicated, compassionate, and patient. The manager's door is always open, she is always ready to listen to residents, their relatives, and staff. Anything brought to her attention is quickly remedied. I would like to thank all of you for supporting us through these difficult times.
The staff are wonderful and caring; they definitely went the extra mile, and overall care was brilliant. Mum was very negative, as she moaned all the time, but the staff took it in their stride. She stayed in her room, which gave the staff extra work, which also meant that some of the food was not as hot as it could be. During staff shortage, her room was not as clean as usual - one word to the management, and it was sorted out. I would recommend the home to anyone it is brilliant.
My husband spent 2 weeks in Whiteplains in respite care, whilst I had surgery. He was very well cared for by fantastic staff and was made to feel as if it was home from home. A special shout out to the lady who has so much energy and always smiling and stimulating the staff with fantastic activities. I felt so confident that my husband was being so well cared for. Thank you to everyone at Whiteplains.
I have nothing but praise for the wonderful care my mum has received from all the team at White Plains, they are the fabulous soul of this care home and have an equally tremendous team. My mum was admitted at the beginning of this year from her longstanding family home in Cornwall, a huge move. The care she has received I can honestly say has been incredible. My brother, my wife and I are all in the medical profession and have been bowled over by the dedication and true passion shown by all the team at White Plains for their residents. It is palpable. We are truly blessed to have chosen this care home for our mum (who as a strong-willed lady, I would say is definitely not the easiest person to look after). We can't thank you enough for your compassion, patience and professionalism at all levels. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to anyone I know. Thank you to the whole team at White Plains.
We could not be happier with the care our mum receives at White Plains. It was so important to us as a family to know she is being well looked after and they have exceeded our expectations. Staff are professional but also just so warm and caring towards the residents. The activities staff organise amazing activities with so much thought and our mum is settled and happy. We are so grateful, thank you.
The staff and management are very caring and I feel confident that Dad receives the best care and help he could wish for. I am relieved he is in a secure and caring environment particularly as his dementia has progressed and his mobility and physical strength are diminishing. I am very happy that he is so well looked after.
My parents have been in White Plains for just over a year and I am very impressed with the care, friendliness and expertise of all the staff who make an effort to get to know the people they care for. I'm always updated with any issues or changes in medicine. My parents arrived in the last lockdown in January 2021 and even though I couldn't visit for about six weeks I knew they were being very well looked after which was a relief to me. I'm impressed that the staff always know who I am when I visit and remember my name - which is such a lovely personal touch. The home is very clean and inviting with a beautiful large garden and a lovely little cottage at the side of the garden. The food looks amazing too. I would recommend White Plains with flying colours. Thank you for the care of my parents.
The staff provide wonderful care to my aunt. They are committed, professional, kind and considerate and have gone out of their way and beyond the call of duty to care for and help my aunt through a very difficult time. Thank you to all of the staff, your contribution to the happiness and well-being of my aunt is really appreciated.
When I visit my wife I never hear a word of complaint about the staff, the facilities or the food. Everything appears to be very well organised and the recent significant changes of staff have gone very well.
White Plains is by far the best care home I have ever seen. We have been associated with them for 7 years and have been delighted with everything from the environment and the staff to the very professional and caring level of service. It is wonderful and very reassuring to know that your family member is so well looked after and seems to enjoy living there so much. A big thank you to all the staff!
White Plains Care Home has been the perfect care home for my uncle. The management and staff have recognised that whilst he has dementia, he is nevertheless very fit, active and sociable and he has been allowed freedom to walk within the home grounds without restriction. He has been very happy and secure for the year that he has been a resident. The staff and management are caring and very professional. This is a wonderful care home.
There is not one person that works in this care home that is not 100% committed to making the lives of the residents the best experience it could possibly be. Without a shadow of a doubt, from the office staff to the staff on the ground, they are always happy, caring and so incredibly kind in every way despite everything that last year threw at them. There is always a lovely atmosphere here, all staff are so attentive and efficient. I cannot say enough about them. Thank you, White Plains, you are amazing.
I am so glad that Mum and I found White Plains. From the minute we turned up, without an appointment, and were warmly greeted and invited in, I knew we’d found somewhere special. It is genuinely a “ home” where residents can participate just as much as they choose to do in the daily activities and opportunities to socialise. Mum struggles with depression, but the staff always show empathy and understanding - ready to laugh with her on a good day and quietly support her when she’s down. Every member of staff has always been welcoming, positive, warm and thoroughly professional. I have been so impressed with how the manager has closely followed protocols and Government guidelines, throughout the last twelve months, to keep safe and well being the highest priority. I would whole-heartedly recommend White Plains to anyone considering residential care. Mum frequently tells me that she is happy living at White Plains and feels safe. I couldn’t ask for more.
Thank you all so much for caring so wonderfully for our dear friend over the last 12 months. He was loved and cared for by everyone at White Plains, and we always felt so welcome when we visited. He loved the spacious grounds, really enjoyed his food, and we thank God for the care he was given on a daily basis.
