View Full Details of Lathbury ManorMy mother-in-law was already a resident at Lathbury Manor when I first met her, and her care needs were substantial. The Lathbury team consistently ensured her needs were met with utmost attention. As she approached the end of her life, the staff displayed unwavering compassion and treated her with profound respect. Even after her passing, their genuine care was evident, and they were sincerely affected by her loss.
Mum Is recieving excellent care from lathbury manor. It's a big family, the manager is a wonderful lady that is always welcoming & attentive to my mum's care. One member of staff, has been a source of comfort to me, she goes the extra mile to facilitate mum's hospital visits when I cannot attend. The support staff are attentive, caring and get involved with providing social activities and escorting mum to hospital. The kitchen staff are excellent. They provide nutritional food and drink for the residents which is delicious and mum has put the weight back on that she lost whilst in hospital. Not forgetting the hard working activities lady, laundry lady and the cleaners who keep a very clean and beautiful environment for the residents to live in.
My uncle has been here for nearly a year. The staff are fantastic and always available to help him. Nothing is too much trouble, they try and take him out most weeks and also get him to church when they can. They make sure he has everything he needs. Two members of staff in particular will always answer concerns as soon as they possibly can and are always very helpful.
My husband has settled in at Lathbury Manor really well. I don't have to worry, I know he is happy, well fed and looked out for. That's all you need for peace of mind. He is well-liked by the staff, fortunately, he has a naturally placid manner.
Mum recently passed away and the staff were remarkable, so beautiful and caring, always the same before mums passing, attending to all needs with love and humour, we were all family. Management never saw them.
The genuine care my mother received, in what was a tragically short period of time, at Lathbury Manor (only 11 weeks) was outstanding. Everyone treated her with dignity, respect and kindness from the time she arrived. Unfortunately, she became very ill after only a few weeks but all the carers were amazing throughout and welcomed all our family, looking after not just my mother but genuinely caring and looking after us and our wishes too. Nothing was too much trouble and we all felt part of a bigger family who all wanted the very best for us all. Her end-of-life care from all the staff and the support we had during such an emotional time couldn’t have been better. This beautiful old building and the grounds have a real family home feel and the food really is cooked up daily from scratch. I cannot thank everyone enough
On behalf of my family, we would like to thank the staff and management of Lathbury for helping my parents settle in so quickly! My parents arrived from hospital confused, soiled clothes and disarray but when I visited in the afternoon both parents were clean, showered, hair brushed and looking great. Staff are friendly and show respect to my parents and are always available to support and help. My parents are more relaxed and enjoying a new social life and routine. Family are always welcome and we enjoy seeing my parents interact with others. Food always looks and smells great! Well done everyone.
My grandparents have settled in so quickly. Before they moved to Lathbury Manor their care was limited and didn’t get the support they needed. Now, they have settled in, socialising, eating and having the care they need and deserve! I can’t fault all the staff and carers that work there. They are always smiling and always willing to help us when we visit. Thank you for bringing the life back into my grandparents!
My elderly Dad moved into Lathbury Manor a few months ago due to his dementia and increasing need for 24/7 support. We chose Lathbury Manor because of its excellent care and marvellous staff team. We compared it to other local care homes, but Lathbury Manor really stood out for its warmth, friendliness, and homely atmosphere. This historic building is located in a quiet hamlet near Newport Pagnell, Milton Keynes and it has a beautiful well-maintained garden. The manager, deputy manager and staff team are lovely and keep in regular contact and are very helpful with any queries. Nothing seems like too much trouble. They provide various happy and stimulating activities for the residents such as daily singalongs, exercise classes and games, creating a friendly, caring and vibrant environment. Tea and homemade cakes are a delightful daily treat too! I want to thank the team for taking such good care of my Dad and I highly recommend Lathbury Manor.
My dad has only been a resident since February 2023. As soon as my dad arrived, the staff were so attentive to him and they were making him feel so welcome. The next day, my dad underwent an operation and he was a day patient. Again, as soon as we arrived back, which was after 8pm, the staff took him up to his room and they got him ready for bed. I left knowing that he was in good hands. They have got my dad into a routine and they get him downstairs sitting in the lounge. Before, my dad spent all his day in bed and he wasn’t interested in anything. Now my dad is very chatty, when I take him out he is interested in his surroundings and what is going on. He participates in the group activities in the afternoon. The food is very well cooked and the staff always make me a cup of tea when I visit. All the staff are very friendly and they talk and interact with the residents. I know that my dad is getting looked after well and I can relax knowing that he is safe.
My mum has been at Lathbury for over 18 months now and is very settled. She enjoys the freedom she has within the home to join other residents in the choice of lounges, go out in the garden or join in the many activities. She really enjoys the home-cooked food and home-baked cakes. The staff have been particularly helpful and caring to her in managing her distress and grief after my father passed away. I have always found the carers friendly, helpful and incredibly patient, with the occasional disruptive resident. Despite the many challenges the care staff have, they remain calm and smiley, treating the residents as part of the family.
A wonderful care home in a country location. Activities are arranged for the residents most days. My brother loves the singing. Everyone seems to enjoy this time and join in. He loves helping to make cakes with supervision. And in the summer they are taken for walks in the fields. The carers are so helpful and friendly. My brother looks so happy there which sets my mind at rest. He enjoys the home-cooked meals and likes the garden.
My mother is a resident of Lathbury Manor Care Home and has vascular dementia. I can't express further how happy I am with Mum's care here, she's been here some months now, the staff are all very friendly and bend over backwards to help not only the residents but answer my questions as a concerned son. The atmosphere is very friendly, the residents have the freedom to move around within the ample-sized accommodation, dining room, TV room, music room and the summer room. The grounds are fantastic also for the warmer months, a cut lawn with a safely, secured off pond and even an orchard of apple and pear trees, left over from previous use as a large commodious well-to-do farmstead. The food is freshly made on-site, coffee and tea served up whenever a resident wants, it truly is a great place. There's a certain feeling that the staff are indeed a part of the family. A really nice village, in a lovely rural setting, only just outside Newport Pagnell, very easy to get to too.
I have been very pleased with the level of care for my mother. I find the team very friendly; we are on first-name terms and they all speak very highly of my mother and I see first-hand how much they care for her. I visit Lathbury Manor Care Home at least once a week and I always find it well organised with good staff coverage in each area of the building. Her room is clean and tidy, the meals are very good quality and they are refined to meet Mum's requirements, i.e. they are blended as she cannot easily eat solid food. My mother has a detailed care plan in place and there is also a folder in her room detailing her needs which is a great comfort. I am grateful to everyone at Lathbury for looking after my mother so well.
Mum has been a resident for close to six years. I think the staff are doing a great and caring job, particularly after an incredibly challenging time through the pandemic. Can't thank them enough for the work they do and the way they do it.
I am totally satisfied with the care my brother in law receives. Staff are always polite, efficient and caring. The home is clean and tidy. Residents are always clean, properly dressed and all appear to be happy. Lathbury has a lovely garden and during good weather residents are able to enjoy fresh air in a safe environment. Residents are entertained and have various forms of suitable activity. Management is always very helpful and keep me informed and up to date on a very regular basis.
Perfect for mum's requirements, small and friendly with lovely grounds. Staff to be commended for keeping all residents safe through the pandemic.
I needed to find urgent respite care for my mother in June and the staff at Lathbury Manor could not have been more helpful. My mother is still there and she has improved significantly thanks to the care she has received.
Huge thanks for all your continued support, care, kindness and help with my mother-in-law. Knowing that she has all of this is a weight off our minds. I am loving the Facebook updates showing the range of activities. We can then send these on to the wider family.
Staff are warm, friendly and inviting, and appear to frequently interact with residents in a kind and caring manner. The general appearance of the home is tried and could do with updating and freshening up. Unable to assess food/drinks as never visit at mealtimes. Very rarely see management staff as they are located in an office on a lower level. Unable to assess activities, not seen.
