View Full Details of Halstead HallStaff always willing to help and extremely caring to my Mum who has vascular dementia. Mum is a very fussy eater and chef always manages to make something to try to please her. From senior staff to the lovely cleaning ladies, we've always found them very kind and patient.
Halstead Hall is an excellent care home situated in a beautiful setting surrounded by trees and fields. The staff are responsive, caring and professional, always with time to chat. I have no hesitation in vouching for the professional integrity of the nurses/care staff in this excellent home.
My mum has just spent the last 5 weeks on respite at Halstead Hall, having spent the last 3 months bouncing between hospital and home social care packages. From the moment she arrived at Halstead Hall, we noticed a significant improvement in her physical and mental health. She was treated as part of the family and made to feel very special. The professional support and caring nature of all the team was fantastic. Having spent several months worrying about her health, I was at last able to relax, knowing that she was being looked after. I couldn't recommend Halstead Hall enough. I have had experience of several residential care homes with other relatives and this is by far the best.
Halstead Hall is outstanding from the moment you drive in, it's set in beautiful grounds with an interior to match there is a very homely feel as soon as you walk in the door. My grandmother is on respite and all staff from management, care staff to the domestic team have been fantastic at making her feel at home. Focusing on her needs and wishes and paying attention to what's important to her. Every member of staff I have seen during my visits has been welcoming with a smile and offer of help. The activities have been well thought out with lots of effort to provide stimulation throughout the day, my Nan loved the 'beach day' where the seaside came to them! My nan had a birthday during her stay, they accommodated family visits throughout the day and made a fuss out of her with a stunning birthday cake. As a family we can't thank the Halstead Hall team enough, they have provided support, guidance and reassurance to my nan while we navigate this new stage of her life.
This is the third respite experience I have had and, as always, it has met my needs both in the care and activities. A special cake was laid out for my 91st Birthday which staff joined in to sing Happy Birthday. And while I am glad to get home, I would be happy to return for my respite care and my family always like to meet cheerful staff and lovely house and gardens.
From the moment we stepped into Halstead Hall my sister and I felt relief that someone genuinely cared for our mother. After the mental anguish of moving her from her beloved lifelong home, we felt safe and comforted that they would take care of her. Not knowing what to do we were guided through all aspects of leaving a loved one in trusted hands. Thank you to all the staff who kept our spirits up in moments of sadness.
All the staff at Halstead Hall went above and beyond, in the care of my mother-in-law during her time there. They got to know her as an individual and went out of their way to accommodate her needs. They offered emotional support as well as physical support. The activities team always had time for her even when she didn’t feel up to joining in with the group. The care staff were always happy for her to sit and chat when she was feeling lonely. The food, drinks and snacks were abundant. The kitchen team were happy to include and prepare her favourite meals and bring her favourite snacks when she had little appetite. We would like to thank the staff for the kindness and support they gave to us too. It's not an easy decision to have a loved one moved into residential care. However with the kindness and support from everyone at Halstead Hall, we know it was the right decision and my mother-in-law's last year was comfortable and safe. We would recommend Halstead Hall to anybody having to make this hard decision.
As a family, we literally couldn't recommend Halstead Hall enough! From cleaners, kitchen staff, and activities team to care workers, everyone is welcoming, supportive, and always on hand for advice and support. My mother-in-law has never been happier. She is in the later stages of dementia and we just know that she is in the very best hands. She has come alive since living here and is eating food and enjoying activities that she has never before engaged in. She tells us that she is well looked after, enjoys her new home and never feels lonely, I mean what else could we wish for? Every time we visit we are blown away at the care that all of the residents receive and the compassion, professionalism, and joy shown throughout the home. Without a doubt, this is what outstanding care looks like and you won't be disappointed!
My aunt and uncle are both at Halstead Hall due to incidents at another local care home. What a difference! The staff care is outstanding, they care about the residents, and the facilities are outstanding. The residents are encouraged to participate in activities of which there seem to be both varied and fun. Halstead Hall was recommended to me and I have no hesitation in recommending it to others.
Exceptional care and I am so happy to know that my husband is being so well looked after and is resident in such a caring and happy environment. Everyone in the home has a smile and the atmosphere and the welcome when I visit make it much easier to not feel guilty that I am now not able to care for him at home any longer.
Staff seem very friendly, chirpy and attentive. My grandmother is happy in the home and is well looked after. They always put on wonderful themed events and take the residents on outings. The home is clean and tidy and the food is good. Only negatives so far seem to be personal belongings go missing often and clothes end up in the wrong rooms.
It’s run very well, someone’s always there to greet you and help if any worries very clean and all the staff are very helpful. I have no worries about leaving anybody in their care, there’s always something going on they take a lot of time doing activities with them.
My cousin came to Halstead Hall in February 2020 following a stay in hospital and was unable to be cared for safely by his wife. He soon settled in and had a happy time there. In February 2021 his wife was in a medical position where she was unable to care for herself and joined him there. They had a happy 7 months before my cousin died. His wife is still being helped by a very caring, friendly and patient team. The nursing staff and the office team have kept me informed every step of the way for the last four years.
Mum requires 24-hour care and it was a difficult transition for her to be living in a locked environment after being independent for so long. The carers at Halstead Hall treat Mum with respect and kindness while she has been adapting to her new environment. Activities take place including horse racing, bingo, singing and dancing as well as creative activities and going to the local dementia-friendly cinema. It was her birthday and she was baked a beautiful sponge cake with strawberries and everyone sang happy birthday which she loved. I am pleased to say that we as a family feel happy with the very difficult choice that had to be made in regard to her ongoing care. Everyone at Halstead Hall knows Mum and takes the time to ensure she is safe and content.
I am so glad that we chose Halstead Hall for my mother. The level of care, consideration and preservation of her dignity at all times was simply excellent. Led by the senior staff, the entire team at Halstead Hall were always friendly, welcoming, attentive and professional. The quality of care was better than I ever expected and the atmosphere throughout the building was always relaxed, warm, supportive and fun. Small details count and there were many times when visiting my mother one of the care staff would notice that she needed making more comfortable, perhaps an extra blanket for warmth, and there was always an offer of tea or coffee which was much appreciated. My mother never got over the passing of my father in 2013 and was never really happy, but that changed when she moved to Halstead Hall. She finally relaxed and to see her smile, laugh and seem content was very reassuring. This was down to the excellent care provided and meant that her last months were probably her happiest.
Everyone made Mum feel so welcome and helped settle her into her first experience of care. The staff are lovely and can’t do enough for Mum, the facilities are light and airy and families are always made welcome to visit.
Where do I start - from the moment my mum-in-law came to Halstead Hall, she was made to feel so welcome and to see her happy made us feel at ease that we had found the right place for her. Unfortunately, my lovely mum-in-law died peacefully last Thursday, and the staff went above and beyond supplying tea and coffee during the five days and nights hubby and I sat with Mum - the care and dignity, well I cannot praise the staff highly enough, I would give ten stars, a 1st class home! Thank you to you all for the care you gave to our mum.
Our mum came to Halstead Hall for two weeks restbite care. Sadly, she was only there for just under two weeks when she passed away. The care she received was absolutely excellent from all the staff. As a family, we stayed with her for her final five days. Within this time, the staff not only cared for her, but they also went above and beyond and cared for us as well. They supported us through our worse times and we couldn’t thank them enough. You really do have staff that care from love!
Mum came in for 2 weeks of respite care. The staff were very welcoming and supported Mum with patients and dignity. When Mum's health failed due to her cancer and she slipped into end-of-life care, the team were just incredible with their support and understanding as were the senior staff and district nurses.
I am happy with the care I'm having. I enjoy the bell ringing, and the food is good.
