View Full Details of Boars Tye Residential Home LtdMy wife joined Boars Tye Care Home in March 2022 and has been looked after and loved by all staff as her dementia progressively developed. Her lack of understanding of her own condition meant that this was not always an easy burden but the atmosphere in the home clearly helped. When visiting, the first impression every time was that you were entering her home -albeit, the extended family home in this case. A warm atmosphere and friendly greetings from those staff members we talked to. We were truly fortunate in finding Boars Tye and thank all at the home.
Even on our first visit before we had made a decision, we were welcomed warmly and it felt like home! All the staff are amazing and friendly. It feels like one big family being at Boars Tye. I'm so happy with the home and the way they are with my mother. The only complaint are some of the bedrooms are small, but they are only really used for sleeping so not overly concerned.
Dad moved to Boars Tye Residential Home in December 2023, had a very comfortable stay for six months. He received the greatest care and focus from the staff. The whole family witnessed the absolute sincere caring character of all the staff. It was beautiful and Dad was thankful also. All the family realised that he was made so comfortable, safe and rested. Peace started on entry. A massive thanks from all the family to the Boars Tye team for your professionalism and true caring nature.
Mum moved into Boars Tye last August and, to be honest, I wasn't sure how she would settle. Well, I couldn't be happier! She has found everyone so easy to get on with; the staff are always so amiable and have time to chat with her and can't do enough to keep her comfortable. Their patience is amazing! The food is great (important to Mum!) with plenty of variety. Communication is good - the Manager and his staff make sure we're always aware of her latest updates - and we always feel she is in a good place. The security that Mum is safe and happy and being looked after is so valuable at this point in her life. Thank you Boars Tye for making Mum at home from home.
My father-in-law has only been a resident at Boars Tye for just short of three months, but it’s as if he has been there for years! This has been totally down to the dedicated care, support and understanding shown to him by the truly professional staff and management as they welcomed him into their community. With Boars Tye not being a new purpose-built establishment there is an overwhelming sense of intimacy which promotes a very caring, personal and homely atmosphere. The food is of an excellent quality standard and there is a very creative programme of activities/events in place. The most recent being a very enjoyable Valentine's Day lunch to which family members were also invited to attend free of charge. From a prior history of being very unsettled (to use a major understatement) he has very quickly found his new ‘Happy Place’!
We chose Boars Tye Residential Home for my sister-in-law, having experienced superb care given to my father from 2008-2011. It’s home from home and every staff member is kind and caring. The food is amazing and the kitchen staff will always go the extra mile to accommodate the residents' likes and dislikes. Everywhere is scrupulously clean and warm. The activities include everyone that wants to join in (even the residents' visitors.) We can relax and have quality visits knowing she is safe and cared for. Thank you to all at Boars Tye.
My mum was taken to Boars Tye Residential Home last August, which is a beautiful, old-worldy care home, which she loves. She is in a lovely room which looks out onto the beautifully kept garden and she can see the birds and flowers, which is important to her. The care team are happy to wash Mum's hair first, before her own hairdresser comes in to give her a trim, to help her out. Mum enjoys the company and joins in with quite a few of the activities. Mum feels safe here, as she had had many falls in her own home and it puts my brothers and my mind at rest to know she feels happy and safe and at risk of no more falls. Mum often mentions the wonderful food and lovely carers who are always so attentive, as are the management team, who always encourage phone calls if we have any questions. I would be happy to recommend Boars Tye Residential Home.
We cannot recommend Boars Tye Residential Home highly enough. Since Mum moved there last November she has been given an incredible level of support in all areas. The staff are amazing, caring, compassionate, supportive to both Mum and our family and most importantly always have a smile on their face whilst carrying out all tasks. The facilities, activities and food are all of the highest level and everyone always makes you feel welcome. It is an incredibly hard thing to see your loved ones move from their own home into a residential home, but everything about Boars Tye has made that transition as painless as it could be, whilst giving Mum levels of support and care that she could no longer get living in her home with daily visits from carers. It has also given us the comfort needed knowing that she is in the best possible place for her. We were very fortunate that Boars Tye was able to accommodate Mum last November, for that we are truly thankful.
My mother moved to Boars Tye Residential Home in November 2023. She was in a confused state having just been in hospital. She had been diagnosed with mixed dementia which has been progressing rapidly. Since moving to Boars Tye, I have seen a marked improvement. My mother is so happy there. Every time I see her she looks better. She has made friends and joins in all the social activities. My mother has told me and other members of the family that she loves living at Boars Tye. The staff are brilliant and very caring and attentive to all the residents there. There is a lovely, family atmosphere there. My mother is clean and very well looked after. The home itself is set in very beautiful surroundings and my mother’s room looks onto the garden which is lovely. My mother loves the food too which is very well cooked. When I phone the office, I can get through very quickly and the manager and staff always answer any queries I have in a polite and friendly manner. I’m so glad my mother is there.
The staff at Boars Tye Residential Home are truly amazing and make what can be a difficult journey so much easier. The management team are there to offer support and to keep us informed; the care team deal with my dad directly and always do so with patience and kindness.
The care he has received has been amazing, my father has many problems all of which they meet with kindness and patience. The staff are always welcoming and keep me informed as to his health and how he has been. I couldn’t recommend it more.
Nothing but praise for Boars Tye Residential Home, Silver End! My dad has been having respite care since January 2023 at Boars Tye Residential Home and I cannot praise the care received and staff enough. All of the staff in all of the departments are all very caring, happy and very chatty, making you feel relaxed and the experience enjoyable. The food selection that is offered every day is fantastic. A great choice to choose from. When Dad went into respite care we were concerned how he would get on but I can truly say that Boars Tye Residential Home is a care home where you can be assured that your loved one is being looked after 100% and cared for 24/7 which puts your mind at rest knowing they are safe and happy. I would most definitely recommend Boars Tye Residential Care Home!
We moved my mum from another care home to be nearer us as we were not impressed with the other care home. Mum has been in Boars Tye House only for a few months and the difference in her is very noticeable. She enjoys being in there and when we visit she is always in the lounge with other residents or staff. The staff are all friendly and helpful and we get offered drinks (we didn't at the other home), all staff chat to us and keep us informed of Mum's care. The home has a small garden that will be great for Mum in the spring and summer, as she always enjoyed sitting in her garden. The home has entertainment and staff dress up. I cannot thank the staff enough, for making Mum so welcome and for being so kind. Highly recommended.
I have always been impressed with the expert advice and behaviour of all the staff. They always have a cheerful attitude towards all problems that they can be faced with. My mind is put at rest knowing that my wife is getting the best care that is possible.
This wonderful care home has truly put my faith back to 'there is fantastic care homes out there', as before in the past, doing our homework and visiting, prior to putting my dad, who has dementia and Alzheimer's, we were promised the earth, but now know complete lies and all about profit and definitely not care, but seriously, everyone, including residents were so happy and definitely very, very well cared for at Boars. Was so nice for us too, not to worry about my dad in care and they totally deserve a brilliant review. Would visit and Dad was always immaculate, even on the first day. I said he loves his handkerchief, next day neatly folded into a fab design in his top pocket! All the staff, you are truly amazing, and I do hope it independently stays, how it is. Dad will definitely be back, and it smells fabulous (no air fresheners). Again, a very big thank you for looking after Dad for just over three weeks and treating him like a king and little things, like letting him lay in when he wanted and extra cake. Credit to you all.
My mum has been in the home for just over two years. Had to move her here because of her dementia. The staff are lovely and caring but she has had quite a few things go missing since being here. Mainly her jewellery which cannot be replaced and more recently a pair of glasses costing £149.00 (which actually have her name engraved on them). Last week I had to do her feet, as her toenails were so long they were cutting into her feet. It turns out that no one in the home has seen a Chiropodist since 10th November 2021. That is not good for elderly people!
I cannot express how wonderful all the care staff are at Boars Tye. My dad was given the best care at all points of his time here which was a great comfort to him and myself during the last days of his life. I cannot thank them enough.
Lovely care home, staff have always been available to ask questions. My mother-in-law was well looked after, good food, lovely staff, very caring, lovely at Christmas, beautiful garden area for residents to sit in summer, thank you to all staff.
The owners, management and staff all care passionately about the well-being of the residents at Boars Tye. Special efforts have been made to enable family contact to be maintained whilst adhering to government guidelines throughout the pandemic, which has contributed greatly to the health and welfare of everybody.
My husband has been a resident of Boars Tye since November 2019. From the moment I went to view the home I knew it was the right one. My children and I wanted somewhere that would feel like home and that is exactly what we found. The home has an exceptional team of staff who are simply phenomenal at their jobs. The home is welcoming, homely and certainly doesn’t have a clinical feel about it which I think is so important. Nothing is too much trouble for any member of staff. All food is prepared and cooked on the premises and the weekly menus are great, lots of choices. The home is set in beautiful gardens with a recently built beautiful summer house for visiting. It also has a bright and airy conservatory at the back of the property overlooking the back garden which in the summer has hanging baskets and tubs full of flowers. On birthdays each resident gets a present and a birthday cake which is lovely. It is evident that the staff love their jobs and have a great team spirit between them.
