View Full Details of BrenalwoodMy dad is very settled in Brenalwood. He is very comfortable and I am confident he is looked after very well by all of the very kind and caring staff.
I am always made to feel welcome. I have enjoyed getting to know the staff and other family members. The new/recent management team have made a difference to the environment of the home. The atmosphere is much calmer and the resident seem more settled.
Since my dad has been at this care home I have seen a really good improvement with the service to their residents and the care that is shown. My dad was initially upstairs but now he is downstairs and able to partake sitting in the lounge which is something I have always encouraged. I have seen a number of managers and the current manager is extremely kind & considerate and very friendly as are the carers. I have always seen the carers giving loving care.
My sister is so happy here its so nice to see her well looked after, the staff that look after her are so good with her & also they all make you feel very welcome, its a very friendly place to sit & talk to my sister and some of the lady's around her, All the staff are very kind & chef is great she cooks a lovely dinner, At the party's everyone are great its good fun, also I bring my little dog stay with me & she is made very welcome everybody loves to see her. :) I can't fault anything its a lovely place, well done All!!
Been visiting for one year now and everything inproved it is a become very nice in there staff are excellent and home is much tieding now.
I have always found that at the Brenalwood Care Home, the staff have provided professional care and the highest level of dedication to their work. In very challenging situations and physical tasks, it can be difficult to constantly maintain standards. I can not praise them enough for how they have helped my mum and sup[ported her in difficult times.
My mum was in Brenalwood for about 9 months, she was the grand old age of 96 years. She was treated very kindly, as she couldn't do much for herself, the staff were great with her, and when she passed in November they sat with her until I got there. She died with me there as she didn't want to die alone. I can only say good things about the staff, they were also very kind to me.
I am really pleased with all the care and attention our daughter gets in what she calls, her home. She loves doing most of the activities. The food, she loves and the chef is very good. Our daughter likes all of the carers, they always make her laugh. She takes her medication with no problem. The staff even look after us when we visit.
Mum was placed there by social services from the hospital. We found the home to be clean, the food was excellent and the staff made us feel very welcome. Mum was very happy. Overall five-star treatment.
Granny staying here at Brenalwood is good. Staff are very nice, food is good, looking after granny well, she has a nice and clean bedroom. Everything is good. Thanks.
All of the carers are so kind and have so much patience for everyone in the home. Since my mum has been here there is nothing too much for them to do.
My brother arrived shortly before the home was judged to require improvement by the CQC. We found it fine, though the new management did improve the regime. I found the staff caring and compassionate, clearly displaying their vocations to residents. They were patient and very hardworking and many went above their paid call of duty to ensure my brother's needs were met and make him comfortable in his home. The staff were good at listening to any concerns I had and kept me updated. There was one issue following my brother's discharge from the hospital where the protocol was followed but needed common sense and intelligence to see through a negligent discharge note.
We are very happy with the friendly, kind and caring staff. Our brother seems very settled and enjoys the food and drinks. It is a great comfort for all the family that he is being cared for so well. This home goes above and beyond and is truly a special care home for dementia patients. 10/10.
We have watched our dad get better after being transferred to the home from hospital who then had him back the next day for four days, again transferred back to the home. They worked hard with a very stubborn patient and got him drinking, eating and getting his fight back. On Monday, March 11th, he is back home, still painful and stubborn. Many thanks to all the staff for everything you do. Get TVs in rooms and downstairs with films, sport etc. stop the boredom.
I attended the Hawian Day recently held at Brenalwood and had such a lovely time and even got Dad up to dance with me (with help from the staff). They do such a great job. I could see the good interaction between care staff and my Dad is great, they know his noises and what they mean which I know only comes with knowing your resident as Dad has been non-verbal for quite some time now. Since the new manager has taken over and the improvement works have been carried out, I can only say its a very positive move and very welcomed. I sincerely thank all the staff, from the cleaners, care staff, kitchen staff, care taker and manager from the bottom of my heart.
We attended a Hawaiian party yesterday for residents and family. When we arrived, all the staff greeted us and chatted with us. The singer was great and all the staff got involved with the residents singing and dancing. Drinks were served all afternoon for residents and families. The food that was made by the staff looked amazing and tasted very good, this was served to everyone or you could help yourselves. Overall, a fantastic day was had by all including residents and staff.
My dad called this his family home and liked the food and activities. Also liked the trips put to the garden centre.
The staff and management have made my dad and my family more than welcome. They helped him settle quickly and adapt well to suit his wants and needs.
I have always felt that the staff at Brenalwood have been committed to the care of their residents. However, the home has been looking "tied" and in need of modernisation as well as the attention given to the catering - which was sadly basic. Since a recent CQC inspection and change of manager, vast improvements have been made in the overall appearance of the home, the standard of catering was raised and the introduction of a meaningful activities programme. The staff have remained constantly excellent!
Personally, I have been very impressed with the staff and processes upheld by Brenalwood. Patients can be very demanding and not have a concept of time, but the staff do their best to overcome these concerns. It would be helpful if staff had a name badge on their uniforms. Thank you.
