My mother was cared for in Cedars Place from January 2023 to November 2024. We were really happy with the care she received. The staff were kind and caring and showed real patience. Everyone was always happy to have a chat with us whenever we visited. The activities on offer were really varied and she enjoyed taking part in some of them. We were always happy when we left after a visit that she was being well looked after. The staff were supportive and exceptionally caring at the difficult time of her end of life care. We cannot thank them enough for looking after her for nearly the last two years of her life. We would definitely recommend Cedars Place.
My Nana came for temporary respite care following a hospital stay. We chose a lovely front facing room where we knew Nana would enjoy looking out of the window and the room was perfect for what she needed. We couldn't be happier with the care she received, everybody made her feel very welcome and included. All the staff are wonderful and we're very grateful that they made her stay a comfortable one. Cedars Place is a lovely care home that we wouldn't have any hesitation in recommending.
The care provided to my dad whilst he was with you form June - November was outstanding. All staff were so kind, not only to my dad, but to us family members who were also going through a tough time during this period. My dad was kept comfortable and were kept informed and consulted with every difficult point during his time with you. All staff showed great compassion and dad could not have spent his final months anywhere better suited to his needs. Thank you all very much for the great care you provide, it really is appreciated.
We as a family have been impressed with all aspects of the home and are grateful that mum is in a safe and happy environment. The lounge and garden are well maintained, making visits enjoyable and allowing residents to keep in contact with the seasons.
The care my mum gets is fantastic, there is always someone there if she needs anything and she is always busy doing activities. If there is ever a problem someone is always in contact, her room is lovely and has everything she needs.
My mum is getting all the care she needs. I don't have any issues or problems with how she is being looked after. We had a little episode where her drinks were put somewhere else so they couldn't be found but they were eventually found after we replaced them.
Cedars Place is a lovely environment with caring staff. The end of life care that our mum received was excellent and we are grateful for everything you have done for her, including looking after and comforting dad when he came to visit, giving him a hug and making him a cup of tea. It would have been better if we could have been consulted on the care plan when mum arrived, rather than a week into her stay, so that more appropriate meals could have been provided.
My dad went into Cedars Place for end of life care for 5 days before he died. The care he received was amazing and I can't thank the staff enough for looking after him with such dignity. Mum then needed to go into Nursing Care as she is bedbound with advanced Parkinson's and we knew exactly the best place for her. Moving into a nursing home could potentially have been a traumatic one but on arrival she was fussed over and made to feel so welcome and it was such a relief to know she was going to be so well looked after. The care she receives is so personal to her needs and they have managed to get her to sit in a chair in the dining room, which she hasn't been able to do for 2 years at home. It means the world that I can spend time with her at a table and not at her bedside. Every member of staff are so caring, loving and compassionate and they love the residents like they were their own relatives. I honestly cannot recommend Cedars highly enough. Thank you so much.
Our mother came into Ceaders Place in September. We were very pleased with the cleanliness, and freshness. The staff are all very friendly and professional, willing to help and put you at ease. Mum seems to be a little more relaxed now. She is bed ridden so needs a lot of attention which she gets and it takes some of the pressure of us. Would definitely recommend Ceders Place.
On my first contact with Cedars, I found the staff exceptionally helpful at a worrying time for my Mum to make the transition from hospital. We chose Cedars after an initial visit and speaking to people who knew residents in the home. Staff are always approachable and understanding, they have soon got to know Mum and are dealing with Mum's anxiety and aggression with patience and respect. Mum always looks comfortable in her lovely quiet room in an area that other residents do not wander in. This was so important for us to know she is safe. This puts the family at ease after a difficult few months.
I have been so very impressed with the level of care my father has received since leaving the hospital. It is the first time in five years I have been able to relax knowing he is in safe hands. He was previously in a different care home.
My mother-in-law came into the Meadows unit for end-of-life care. This unit is amazing! The staff are so friendly, caring, compassionate and very well trained. My mother-in-law was cared for so well, with respect and dignity. She felt safe and was happy in her final surroundings. The staff just make the care top-notch! We cannot thank them enough for the care she received.
My brother has suffered prior to being here. He is now recovering from previous trauma in his previous care. He has become his old self and is totally happy here. Taking all the pressure off me.
Mum is currently very poorly and in a lot of pain. The staff are doing all they can to make her more comfortable and they keep me informed when necessary. The buzzer response time is not always immediate but I appreciate Mum buzzes quite a lot.
Dignity is the only thing that matters, to see the way you have all treated my Mum, is a credit to you all. To see how she has touched you all is heartwarming. A team that genuinely cares from management to cleaners and every single carer is a credit to your career. Thank you.
I have generally had a very good experience with my dad in the home. I would like to make his room more homely but that also requires my mum to take part in this and allow items from home to stay in his room. The room and bathroom always Very clean. I am not always convinced he is in his clothes but always looks ok. Not always shaven but that can be down to my Dad not wanting to be shaved. The senior is always an up-to-date Dad. The activities lady at Cedars is great. Cedars Thank you for what you do for Dad.
My Mum has been a resident since late last year. I have been very impressed with the friendly team there from carers to the office team. From the start Mum was made to feel welcome, they quickly put up her pictures and let her bring a few bits of her own furniture to make her room feel like ‘her room’. It was a hard time for Mum, just having lost my Dad but she was treated with kindness, empathy, and respect. They encouraged Mum to leave her room and join in with the activities they offered but respected her when she wanted time on her own. I arrived to visit and found Mum joining in with exercises, crafts, and singing amongst other things. She is looking healthier than before she moved into Cedar Place. They have kept me informed and helped with any inquiries I have had. Mum recently had a fall and I was informed quickly and given regular updates through the night as she was seen by medical personnel. I have had lunch with Mum a few times and enjoyed my meal. Thank you!
There has been a big improvement in my mother's quality of life since she moved to Cedars. She has gained confidence and is enjoying many activities and has made friends with other residents. It is a lively home and the staff is fantastic.
I would like to say how amazing the deputy manager (nurse) is in Cedars. She’s always so efficient, professional, and also so caring and polite to my Father! She makes me feel so welcome every time I visit and I feel so lucky to have such a lovely nurse caring for my Dad. She always goes the extra mile to make my Father comfortable, nothing is ever any trouble.
Very happy living here.
