Mum has been a resident at Goldenley for over two years now. I or my sister visit two or three times a week. We are made very welcome at any time and have never found a problem. Any minor issues we have raised are dealt with promptly. The team make contact if Mum has any issues (eg a fall). Mum is extremely well looked after and there are always activities to get involved with. The team are very patient with her and with all the residents, treating them with respect and compassion. The different areas at Goldenley where we can go and sit with Mum make it easy to find somewhere quiet if there are activities in the lounge - there are two lounges, a visitor's room, a tea room and a "pub". Plus outside seating if the weather is good. All areas are kept clean and tidy without being clinical - it is a proper home.

My mum enjoyed every minute of her respite at Goldenley care home. They looked after her very well, and she enjoyed all of the different activities. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

My mum recently had to go into care as she was struggling to look after herself after the death of our dad and she had dementia. It was never an easy decision for us to make because Mum had always been such a strong, independent person. We did look at different options for Mum but we finally found a place that Mum loved and would manage to get her life back on track. We can’t thank the staff enough at Goldenley Care Home for giving Mum back her independence and most of all, her infectious personality. I sat with Mum recently at the home and couldn’t believe the change in her. We never stopped laughing. Kind regards.

Mum has been a family member within Goldenley now for 19 months, right from the start the team members have met Mum's needs in all aspects. Mum has a whole other family within the home who care for her and we, as her immediate family, are kept involved and informed in Mum's care, activities and medical needs.

My mother is a full-time resident at Goldenley Care Home and my father has recently started attending the daycare centre. They both love the staff at the home and the welcoming they get. Dad is always made to feel welcome when he visits Mum and today when I dropped him at the daycare unit, he didn't even realise I had left...he was too busy chatting. The food is always first-class and on occasions when I have been there during meal times wished I was having a serving.

My mum has been living at Goldenley for a number of years and in that time she has been loved and cared for by all the staff. The staff always do the very best for residents, often under difficult circumstances. It has a very homely feel with entertainment and good food. Also, which is of importance, the manager and assistant manager will always listen and help with any concerns or questions.

Mum is happy at Goldenley. She is looked after by staff who show they care. She is safe and warm and enjoys the food that is cooked there. Mum has been a resident at Goldenley for a few years now, and she still enjoys joining in with the activities.

My dad stayed for four weeks respite. He had attended the day centre and enjoyed going. While at the day centre the carers would send me videos of my dad having fun and he would hug them as he left. It was the obvious choice for him to stay there. I needn't have worried about how he would feel being away from home - he thought it was a hotel and didn't want to leave! He enjoyed the food and the activities and liked the residents and the carers. It was reassuring every time I visited to see him so relaxed and happy. He always looked well cared for and his room and communal areas were all clean. Very happy with the service and would happily recommend.

My mother loves being at Goldenley - she relates very well to the carers who are excellent. I have peace of mind that my mother is well cared for and being monitored for any potential problems. The staff run great activities that ensure that energy levels remain high. All the staff are a credit to Excelcare

The staff at Goldenley are friendly, professional and caring. The home looks clean and tidy. They have plenty to keep them mentally occupied e.g. Platinum anniversary event, singers coming in to get residents to have a sing-song with the songs from the past. The activities coordinator is always doing things with the residents. The main thing is, my mother is happy there so, I am happy.

Goldenley has been very caring to my husband whose medical condition has completely changed him from the man he was. Unfortunately, I am unable to visit him as often as I would like as I am now in a wheelchair and have to wait until my son has a day off to take me to see him but Goldenley keeps me informed of any problems that arise. The staff are all wonderful and caring and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the care and compassion.

I have found Goldenley Care Home to be very proactive and caring. They are always in contact, following protocol and ensuring they are keeping residents safe. Being able to take your own furniture in, a home away from home I feel has made a big difference for my own well-being. When I see my family member I feel comforted and settled with their own belongings. This is additionally reflected in my family member's behaviour.

Although my wife was in the home for a short time before she passed away, the care and compassion she received was first class. Myself and the family were made to feel more than welcome and this caring attitude was reflected in all parts of the home. They do a very difficult job extremely well.

Goldenley care home is an outstanding home in my opinion. My nan moved here for respite care back in August and is now a permanent resident. Goldenley care home has been amazing and very accommodating to not just my nan but our family too. The staff at Goldenley are very friendly and more importantly caring in every way possible. Goldenley care home really does put the effort into making sure that the residents are well and truly occupied. The staff carry out daily activities with the residents ensuring that they are getting the stimulation they need in order to keep their minds active. My nan enjoys doing the activities so much that sometimes I think she would prefer to stay there than see us! Goldenley care home has been very professional during the pandemic and you can see just how much they really do put in lots of hard work to ensure that all the residents receive the best quality care. Thank you to all of you. I wouldn’t recommend another care home.

A lovely warming care home, the staff are welcoming and very accommodating. I would definitely recommend it if you are thinking of homing a loved one. In a lovely quiet road down Richmond avenue nearby to a lovely park too which is a bonus.

The carers at Goldenley are extremely great at their job. Supporting all the residents with love and care, especially through this challenging time. They go above and beyond what is expected of them. They also treat relatives with kindness at all times.

Staff have been working very hard in very difficult times to keep the residents both safe and motivated. It has made the last two years less stressful for both of my parents, who have enjoyed the activities and interaction with the staff. We would not have been able to provide the same level of care if they had still been at home and would have put them at further greater risk. You only need to look at the pictures of them to see that they are enjoying themselves.

My mother is a resident at Goldenley Care Home. It broke our family’s heart to put our mum into a home, but unfortunately, Mum was no longer safe to live on her own. After much searching, we decided Mum to live at Goldenley. My mum has excellent care, from all the staff at the home. They also include the family with open arms and involved us with any decision that needs to be made for Mum. We couldn’t see Mum at Xmas because of COVID, but all the photos and videos were put on their Facebook, and Mum had a wonderful time. Goldenley has given us, as a family, peace of mind that our wonderful Mum has the best care any family could wish for. Thank you to all the staff and management.
