View Full Details of Horkesley ManorCould not fault the care and attention they bestowed on my father whilst he was there, from the groundsmen to the manager. Everyone was amazing. I would absolutely recommend this home to anyone looking for a safe and comfortable stay for themselves or a loved one. I will miss the staff and their friendly faces and much-needed cups of tea. My father passed away whilst he was there and he was treated with dignity and respect.
My mother who has Alzheimer's has been residing in Horkesley Manor for a year and a half. I am so thankful for the way the staff care, respect and are being so kind to my mother and us as a family. Nothing is too much and the level of care is of a very high standard. The room my mother has and the Aspen Memory Centre is just a wonderful place to be in. Always clean. As a family, we know that our loved one is safe, secure and her wellbeing is being catered for to a very high standard. We cannot ask for more. Thank you so much for all you do, I would not hesitate in recommending Horkesley Manor to anyone else who needs care for their loved ones.
My world collapsed November 2022 due to Parkinson's. I was less that 50% operative and worsening. My family made a wise decision, Horkesley Manor. It has wonderful staff suffice all my needs. I will if needs be spend the rest of my life here. I am extremely lucky to have found you. Thank you.
My wife has been a resident at the home for approximately eight years. During that time, she has received excellent care through the different stages of her debilitating disease. Now that she is receiving palliative care, that excellent standard continues from the dedicated staff. The carers, nursing staff, kitchen staff, cleaners and the management team are really friendly and helpful. The home itself is constantly having improvements carried out, so it feels welcoming and comfortable with well-maintained surrounding grounds. Well done and thanks to all.
Staff were lovely, friendly, polite and available. Food was good with plenty of options for different portion sizes. The two rooms used were clean and comfortable. Father-in-law had a bed extender provided to lengthen the bed and chair risers. The maintenance team also sorted out a raised toilet seat and rails for both parents. The only downside to the room was the shower which didn't work for the 2 weeks my father-in-law was in respite. There was a slight mishap at the end of respite care when some medications went missing but were eventually found so all good.
Mum's room was very nicely provided with luxury curtains, a lamp and armchair with cushion. Regular single bed, not this bulky medical bed. On suite, very clean, the staff all appear very calm but competent and talk very politely to the residents. This is the Memory Dementia Hub which has an open kitchen in the common room and relatives have the ability to make tea/coffee at any time. I like that the staff do not wear a uniform but have a name badge. Relaxed atmosphere, sense of calm and care. Food, meals, very good quality. Mum has gained weight back, cheerful and lots of smiles.
My mum was here for 6 months for end-of-life care and she really was cared for. The staff who looked after her were genuinely concerned for her and our whole family during the time she was there. Everyone was so kind and thoughtful, always making sure my mum was as comfortable as she could be and treating her with love, respect and dignity. Thank you for making a really tough and sad time for our family a little bit easier.
We needed to find a home for my aunty to move into where she would feel homely, safe, warmed and all her care needs met. Had lots of various activities and was clean and hygienic. I cannot praise Horkesley Manor and their healthcare enough for providing all this and more. My aunty is so happy. Thank you, Horkesley Manor.
We were unable to support my mother's care needs, so as a very close family, we needed to find a care home where she would be loved and cared for. Mother has now been at Horkesley Manor for over a year and we cannot thank everyone at Horkesley Manor enough for the care and dedication toward my mother. Absolutely outstanding.
My husband was sent to Horkesley Manor by the NHS. He only had four days there before he passed. He was treated with dignity and he had a very peaceful death, which is all anybody could wish. We had lots of family visiting and they welcomed everyone with great respect.
My lovely dad stayed at the nursing unit at Horkesley Manor for the last ten weeks of his life. The staff at the home were supportive of Dad, prioritising his social and emotional wellbeing, as well as his physical care. His vegetarian diet was well catered for, and the domestic team kept his room clean and hygienic. Care staff and nurses were kind, considerate, and responsive both to Dad and to us as his family. We always felt welcome and respected by the team and enjoyed the lovely grounds with Dad as well as the gorgeous conservatory and front lounge. Dad enjoyed watching the birds feeding on the table outside of his window and always said that he felt safe. He came to call Horkesley Manor his home within a very short time. My family are very grateful for the care and consideration shown to Dad over his final weeks, and to us after his sad passing. If Dad had to spend his time in nursing care, then we are glad that it was with the Horkesley Manor team.
My dad only had a short time with you after being fast-tracked for palliative care from hospital but that short time saw him receive the love, care, support and attention he deserved. He was treated with so much respect, he was treated like you would your own. Even had my dad up and out of bed on a couple of occasions which he obviously enjoyed as he would eat not much but enough. The care was not only for Dad but for us as his family too and for that I am truly grateful. I felt reassured he was being looked after when I couldn't be there. Even at the end he was treated lovingly. The honoured guard as he left was a fitting end for a wonderful man. We can't thank you and your staff enough for being so marvellous. They feel the loss too so you know your loved one was loved.
Firstly, a great big thank you to all the staff at Horkesley Manor, they make it look easy but I know it isn’t! This is the second time that we’ve used their respite service and I can’t fault them. They’re very lucky to have such a beautiful home, away from the hustle and bustle of town and yet on a regular bus route, not having my own transport this is invaluable. My step-grandmother seems to really enjoy her stay here and it gives the family some time to recharge our own batteries. There’s always something going on to make the residents feel completely at home and make new friends.
A warm and welcoming atmosphere, with caring and dedicated staff, who looked after my mother exceptionally well. Mum ate well and thoroughly enjoyed the social aspects of the home. A real home from home. Well done and thank you.
My wife has been at Horkesley Manor since late July and I am very pleased with the way she is being cared for and attended to on the nursing unit.
We were so happy to find Horkesley Manor for our mum. She had been living there for 2 and a half years before her death. She was so well looked after and was always busy with activities. I cannot fault the staff from the cleaners to the senior carers. She was able to make a great friend which was lovely for us to know she wasn’t lonely. I will recommend the home to anyone who is looking for somewhere for their family member.
I visit my friend daily. She is happy and comfortable with her daily needs met. It is easy to bring up issues which are few and far between. The staff listen and solve anything that arises to do and see within the lovely gardens.
My mother arrived after previous neglect by a hospital. Horkesley Manor provided first-class care and compassion, firstly to treat her multiple conditions and later to administer end-of-life care. All staff show visitors politeness and courtesy. The facilities are clean and immaculate, with good potential for patient enrichment. An excellent provider.
When my husband arrived at the Aspen Centre the staff were very welcoming. He built up a good relationship with both male and female carers. In August, he celebrated his birthday. The staff decorated the family room, his grandchildren came to visit and left with some lovely memories of that day. There was a birthday tea for everyone. The chef made a birthday cake and everyone sang Happy Birthday. It was clear that my husband enjoyed all the fuss. One carer found out that he enjoyed listening to a Welsh singer, so he found the songs online and they had an unforgettable evening together. My husband’s stay at Horkesley Manor was sadly brief as he passed away seven weeks after he arrived. Our three adult children and I spent the last three days with him. The staff were kind, offering us cups of tea and something to eat and giving us time to grieve together. Thank you to everyone who cared for him. We greatly appreciate the care and compassion that you showed him.
The staff at Horksley Manor are amazing and caring, and this is part of the culture. I have only ever heard of the residents being treated with high levels of respect and kindness. It is very well-run and well-staffed. My mum is in Aspen Lodge, the part of the home which looks after residents with dementia, and she is so well looked after. It is calm, homely and genuine. It's a very difficult time for the family, especially Mum, and this has been like a port in a storm.
