View Full Details of Hatfield HavenThe management and staff at Hatfield Haven are kind, caring and respectful towards all of the residents and each other. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and the staff are all very attentive towards each resident's individual needs, whether that be physical or emotional. I have no concerns now about my aunt's health, welfare or safety. This home is a 'gem' and shows how to run a gold standard care home.
I visit regularly 4-5 days during the week. My wife and I were together for 43 years including 5 years prior to her residency. The home is a caring environment which establishes much more of a 'homely' feeling. Staff were very approachable and always helpful, courteous and attentive.
It's a difficult decision to place your loved one into care due to dementia. I am very happy with his care, the staff are good, well trained and make sure my needs are met also, nothing is too much trouble. The staff are the same all the time so I've got used to them. It's early days, but I hope my husband settled in the future as he has so far.
Truly outstanding, my mum was moved here from another care home that was nowhere near as good. The staff are all so caring and passionate about what they do. Residents are treated to so many engaging activities. There was a belly dancing raffle pancake day. And a Pantomime every year. Trips to the seaside. Visits to the airport to see planes taking off, plus tea and cake. There are animal experiences; snakes, dogs, meerkats, bats, spiders, owls. It is so heartwarming to see my mum put on weight and enjoying herself. I feel I have got my mum back from her dementia. It is like having a second family. Every visit is so enjoyable.
This care home is outstanding. The care and compassion given to my mother are excellent; she is very happy here, which makes me very happy too. I would recommend Hatfield Haven every time.
I am always given a welcome cup of tea (and an offer of food) as I usually come by bus. They new furniture has made all the spaces more accessible. New residents are more welcome even if the don't appreciate it.
My father has been in this care home for 4 years. He loves living in the home and has been very happy here. The staff are always friendly and helpful, as well as being very caring to the residents. The activities are engaging, my father loves painting and art etc. They are also taken on outings very regularly which is of great benefit to all. We are very pleased my father is at Hatfield Haven.
Hatfield Haven is providing excellent care for our mum. The staff are compassionate and have treated Mum with so much love, kindness, dignity and respect. I can only praise all the staff for everything they do, both staff and management are always welcoming to the family. I would certainly recommend the home to anyone. There are always a lot of amazing activities going on with a first-class organiser and lots of fun. We couldn't be happier!
My Mum has been a resident now for 7 months. She is very settled and well looked after. She feels safe and secure. The food is good and plentiful. I particularly like the amount of activities organized to keep residents busy and engaged. The staff always seem to be very caring and fond of residents.
Since moving into Hatfield Havenmy fathers condition has dramatically improved, it is lovely to see him regaining interest and enjoyment of his life. His physical needs have been well looked after and he has the right amount of stimulation to help him close with his dementia. The staff have been so careful with the residents during the pandemic while giving us as much freedom as possible to visit too.
I have always been impressed with every aspect of my mother's care at Hatfield Haven, but I write as we are in the mid-Covid-19 situation. I have been so impressed with the way the whole team, from the management to the carers, have handled a very dangerous situation. It has been so very hard not being able to visit, but the staff have done their very best to maintain contact between our family and our mother ie, phone calls and facetime. It has helped us cope with the current situation, just knowing that Mum is in a loving, caring environment. I will never be able to thank them all enough.
Overall I think the care offered at this home is very good. Staff have good relationships with the residents and are aware of their needs. Food could be more interesting and varied and I have had some issues with room cleanliness. Outdoor facilities could be improved and staff motivated with better pay. It is hard to reconcile the cost of care with facilities/food/activities.
My mother has been a resident for over 3 1/2 years and has had nothing but the best standard of care the staff can provide. She is extremely content and I am very comforted by that. My only complaint would be that her fees have increased by 25% which I find unacceptable as her pension and other benefits have not!
It would be really difficult to find anything that warrants a less than positive response. Our mother has been in Hatfield Haven for a year. We were concerned about how she would be cared for but very quickly our minds were put at ease as we realised that she was getting excellent all-round care. We can only describe the staff and management as ‘simply the best’. The residents are kept stimulated and entertained during the day and regular trips are arranged including visits to garden centres and museums. Recently (until the COVID19 pandemic) children from a local nursery were also visiting the residents at the home on a weekly basis with both groups clearly getting so much out of the visits. Apart from our regular visits (which have had to be virtual during ‘lockdown’) we look forward to seeing the activity photos on social media. We cannot thank all the staff enough for their dedication and compassion.
Excellent care.
My wife and I visit about twice a week over the last two years. The home is clean, warm and friendly. The staff have a difficult job watching over the residents, some of whom can be difficult and unpredictable. Our experience has been that the staff are very friendly, approachable and caring to residents - even the difficult people. They provide entertainment, outside visits and support and are always smiling and surprisingly loving to their patients. The effort put into the running and management of the Haven is, in our view, exemplary.
Lovely home which is very well run, in particular, the entertainment and activities are outstanding. They provide stimulation and amusements nearly every day.
