Howard Lodge is a very friendly family orientated home, they continue to amaze me on how much care they provide to my mum and all the residents to ensure they have a happy comfortable and enjoyable life there. The staff are always welcoming and happy to see not only the residents but their families and friends. There are always staff around to answer any questions and there are always plenty of staff on the hamlet for the residents. Mum has been out on two outings in January, a tea dance and a pantomime.

We could not have chosen a better care home. The staff are excellent. Not only do they care for our mum but also care for the family as well, which we experienced when my husband became unwell, they were marvelous making sure he got home safely. Always laughing in the home, very clean, never a smell. We have no hesitation in giving this wonderful home a 10-star rating and our full recommendation.

My mother has now been here 3 and a half years, and I can only describe the care home as wonderful! Their attention to detail, service, care, friendliness, and family liaison is fantastic. My mum loves it there, well done!

This care home is outstanding. The staff are fantastic and absolutely committed to the care of the residents. My mother has been here for 4 years and 6 months, I cannot speak highly enough of the care she receives.

I highly recommend this care home. The members of staff are caring, warm and professional. I couldn't ask for a better home to care for my relative. The food is delicious and the activities are also brilliant.

Lovely care home, with wonderful staff who are very caring. Lots of activities, great garden and well maintained. Summer and Christmas fetes are a great way to raise money and bring the care home community together. I can't recommend the care home enough and would advise anyone looking for a care home to take a look at Howard's Lodge.

My uncle moved into Howard Lodge in September 2023 and I worked really hard to get him here. It's a truly fabulous place. I have been here almost every day and I can honestly say, the staff are the best in the business. All of them truly care and go above and beyond their call of duty. Had it not been for the team leader in particular, who has truly given me some sanity and laughter over the last 9 months, (I sadly lost my Uncle on the 3.6.2024), I am not sure I would have got through it. In fact, all of you, bar none, are brilliant from the cleaners, carers, catering staff, reception and management and anyone I may have forgotten who is part of this special team. So, please take this as a very special thank you from the family but from myself in particular for everything you did for my Uncle Don. I will never ever forget that. You are truly beautiful special people, one in a million and truly loved. Lots of Love.

This review is to thank ever single member of the Howard Lodge family for the above and beyond care my beautiful mum received. We sadly lost Mum on 21/02/2024, but the pure dignity, love and kindness given to our precious mum is hard to explain. Everyone on Poppy are unreal. The night staff that cared for Mum can often be forgotten, we will never forget the outstanding care Mum received. The front of house team who always take extra care of Dad are always there to greet and listen. The entertainment team and staff member who helped Mum through many dark moments. The two staff members who made sure we were all fed and watered. The laundry staff that kept Mum's clothes just how she liked them. The housekeeping team and the one staff memer who always made Mum smile. The management, who's door is always open. The beautiful toddler group that made Mum leave her room. So many names I need to mention it is impossible but to the director and management, your team are unreal. Thank you to the entire Howard Lodge family.

Our mum has been on Poppy Hamlet for just over a year and in that time has thrived. When she arrived she was in a very fragile state both physically and mentally but now is a completely different person. All friends and relatives have commented on how well she now is and mum says she is so lucky to be there and so glad we found this home (which was highly recommended to us by a friend). All staff are outstanding and go the extra mile and we are always warmly welcomed by everyone. We would highly recommend this home.

Dad has been at Howard Lodge for nearly a year and throughout, we have nothing but praise. The care and attention he receives is second to none. We as a family know and take much comfort in knowing that he is in a safe and happy environment. Sadly we are unable to care for him and his specific needs at home but are grateful that everyone at Howard Lodge look after him as one of their own family and we believe he could be in no better place. I visit most days and all the staff bar none, whatever their role or responsibility know Dad by name and are always happy and friendly, not just with residents and visitors but with each other, which speaks volumes. Dad can be challenging both with his physical and mental needs but watching the staff with him warms my heart as their training, patience, natural caring passion and personal touch works wonders. Seeing Dad interact with everyone is priceless and we can relax knowing Dad is safe, cared for and happy in his new ‘ home from home’.

My wife has been at Howard Lodge for five years and I don’t think I could have found anywhere better for her. In that time she has been very well looked after and I can’t say enough good words about the staff who go above and beyond in seeing that Gene is well looked after and happy in the surroundings. All the staff are dedicated to their jobs and all go around with a smile on their face which makes the residents feel happy. I visit three times a week and I am always welcomed with a smile from all members of staff. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this care home to anyone wanting their loved ones to receive the best of care.

My mum has been a resident of Howard Lodge since May 2020. We, unfortunately, had to make a quick decision to move Mum into care for her own safety, but under very difficult circumstances due to the fact the country was in Covid lockdown, and with Mum's dementia she didn't understand what was going on. The manager and the team helped make this process as bearable as they possibly could, and went above and beyond to support both mum and the family during this stressful time. Howard Lodge itself is kept in very good condition, being painted and repaired when needed. Housekeeping overall throughout the home is excellent. The staff are very keen to keep the residents entertained and happy, with a full calendar of events taking place every year. We really cannot recommend this home enough, I wouldn't even consider putting my mum, or any other relative anywhere other than Howard Lodge.

My mum has been at Howard Lodge coming up to three years. I can only say good things about the home, the facilities are very good, but most importantly, the actual carers are very good. There are lots of activities going on, and the personal touch is second to none. I would and have recommended this home, and those people I have recommended are very happy.

Mum has been a resident at Howard Lodge for four years. She is living with dementia. We could never give Mum the quality of care that she receives here. Mum has an extended family that treats her with dignity and love. She is so happy to be there, and that makes us happy too.

Fantastic home. Very friendly. Very helpful. The staff are fantastic, always on hand and have so much time for the residents. Would recommend this home to others. My dad is very happy here. Food is good and very varied.

Mum moved here from another care home over two years ago. She settled in really quickly, and it was evident that the staff had taken the time to get to know her and understand her needs. She is safe, happy and content. The communication is good, and any questions we have are answered promptly. The reception staff are always friendly and welcoming. As soon as you walk in the door, you can feel the warmth and friendliness of the home. There are always lots of activities going on which the residents clearly enjoy. Well done, Howard Lodge; wouldn’t wish my mum to be anywhere else.

My mother has been at Howard Lodge for nearly nine years, and in all that time, we have never had an issue. All the staff are so friendly and helpful, and nothing is too much trouble. I would recommend Howard Lodge to anyone looking for the care of a loved one.

Mum has been in Howard Lodge for nearly four years. We have found the staff to be diligent, friendly, patient and extremely helpful, and the home is always clean, tidy, bright and warm. It is well designed and has a large garden in the sun, which is perfect for the summer. We visited a few care homes when selecting one for Mum, and Howard Lodge stood out easily from the rest; we have never for a moment regretted that decision.
