View Full Details of Madelayne Court Care HomeOverall the accommodation seems to be kept clean and tidy however the residents are not changed regularly enough in my opinion. It often stinks as soon as you walk along the corridors, to the point of gagging. My mother was often soaked through when we visited. I spoke to other families who had the same complaint. It would be nice (if hopeful!) to have better staff retention and much higher training standards but the system seems to be deliberately going to pot. Also, Coronation St blaring from the TV is appalling entertainment for anyone, let alone dementia patients. Calming nature programs or music from the 1950s/60s or anything calming would be much more appropriate.
I want to thank all the staff for the wonderful care they gave my mum. She was lucky enough to die at home. Madelayne Court was her home for the last year of her life, and there she felt, safe cared for and very happy. Thank you for looking after Mum and making all who knew her so welcome.
I can't thank the staff at Madelayne Court enough for the sensitive and caring way they looked after Mum for the time she was with them, which was almost a year. The staff are very approachable and the carers know the residents in their care very well and treat them as people, not just residents. They also treat visitors in the same manner and we got to know a lot of the staff very well. They are very approachable and always happy to discuss anything you might want to. Even if it's just a chat. I would definitely want to be a resident here myself if I ever needed this type of care.
My Mother was extremely well cared for by the staff at Madelayne Court. They are a very professional team who really care about all of their residents. Mum had a lovely bedroom always well presented and very clean. When she was still well enough, she was able to participate in a range of activities including day trips. All of the family were very well informed about Mum throughout her stay and we were always made very welcome whenever we visited. I was always very happy that Mum was being well looked after and I would unreservedly recommend Madelayne Court.
Since arriving at Madelayne Court in May my partner has had nothing but the best of care. She is well looked after by kind, sympathetic staff, always clean and well dressed and most importantly of all happy. I would certainly recommend Madelayne Court with no hesitation.
My mum has lived at Madelayne Court for 2 years and every day she is made to feel at home by all the staff. There are many opportunities for social interaction/activities and this helps Mum settle. My father and I visit regularly and again are made very welcome. All staff I have met are dedicated and the management team are very effective and keep me informed of any change with my mum. Thank you.
Madelayne Court gave myself and husband a wonderful five-star event for us to celebrate Valentine's Day together. Fantastic decorated table, five-star service and food. A red rose for me to take home. A very warm welcome from the manager and her hardworking events team. The Ritz could not have done better. Best Valentine's Day ever.
Third-floor staff have been superb at looking after my husband, who had multiple strokes last week. Cannot praise them highly enough.
My mum came to the home during the Pandemic, and I have to say the care and love she received was wonderful. My mum was cared for and looked after by the amazing staff and the management team, which were wonderful. Many times over the last two and a half years, we came in, and she was always clean and happy. She passed away in November this year, but I can't fault the team for their kindness and attention to looking after the residents and the visitors. I recommend this home to anybody who needs the care and support like my mum received. Thank you so much to the team at this very difficult time. I've spoken to a variety of staff recently, so you know who you are. Thank you once again from the whole family.
Very attentive staff, treated my mum like she was special, as are all residents I am sure. Just a wonderful place. Thank you so much!
Staff are excellent. Very polite, friendly are very helpful. Rooms are always cleaned, regulate. Food and drink are excellent, staff always make sure you have juice in your room.
My father had terminal cancer, was treated like an imbecile, and left in his own excrement for hours. No response to the help call button - that’s when it could be reached as all his items were usually moved so he couldn’t get to them and power to his personal TV, radio and fridge kept being turned off. Despite making a request to the deputy manager for some intervention, I had to stick a handwritten note to the wall above the plug, to little effect! Apparently, he couldn’t join in the activities because they didn’t have enough wheelchairs. I provided them with four that were kindly donated to me by strangers on local social media hubs. Like his clothes, rugs, watch, caps, and a tea mug (which was a personal favourite) they all went missing. His vitamins were confiscated despite his specialist and doctor saying could have them. Apparently, they were dangerous if anyone else came into his room and took them. Sweets were okay though! (Diabetics?) The list goes on. Wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy.
Cannot fault the team at Madelayne Court. They know my nan very well, highlight any concerns they have at the earliest opportunity and communicate well. Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful - what more could I ask for? To know she has been somewhere safe and caring has been a huge relief and reassurance.
When I visit my dad sometimes he is in dirty clothes and I have to change him before I leave, also I have to smell the clothes I get out for him because used clothes get put back in the wardrobes. Things go missing out of his room ie my queen-size fleece blanket, clothes and table and when I query this with staff, it takes ages to get them resolved. Dad lost nearly a stone in weight in his first month which was in January 2023 and it has taken until this month to look into it with the doctor.
My mum was at Madelayne Court for over a year. The staff were friendly and would always greet you with a smile. Mum's room was clean and tidy as was the rest of the home.
We are very pleased with the care that my Dad receives. He is always treated with respect and dignity. The atmosphere feels homely and nothing is every too much trouble. The care leaders are very quick to respond to any changes in Dad's health, we are always kept informed.
Staff are always polite to visitors, it is always being cleaned daily, residents are always given drinks, the residents have a good meal throughout the day, there is music on and the tv is put on as well in the lounge area, bedrooms are clean and have enough space for the residents needs, all medical needs are dealt with when residents need them.
Always a warm welcome, with a cup of tea for both of us upon arrival. Problems dealt with quickly. I do worry that my husband wanders about at night in just his pyjamas and no dressing gown, other than that I am pleased with the care he gets and he seems happy and he enjoys the meals provided, they are of good quality with fresh vegetables.
My mum was only at Madelayne court for a few short months before her passing. During this time mum was well cared for and treated with respect. The staff were all very friendly knew each resident by name and were very approachable. Mum's room had everything that was needed for her comfort and needs with a very pleasant outlook from her window. I think the only criticism I would say was speaking for all the residents after a Sunday lunch was the food could be better.
The meeting was very beneficial. Nice to meet the new manager of Madelayne Court Care Home.
