View Full Details of Marmora Care HomeMy mum recently started living at Marmora Care Home. She was very unsettled and confused at first (August) but she has really settled in and enjoys being there. She is always doing something, be getting her hair done, her nails done, shopping for clothes. There are lots of different activities during the days for her to get involved in. I visit her very regular and she's always busy and doing something. Mum has really settled here and staff are just so accommodating and kind. I feel welcome every time I visit. I took her out recently and when I took her back she was so so happy to be coming back.
My mum, who is in her 90's went into Marmora Care Home originally for respite care but is now a permanent resident. She is well looked after and our impression of the Home is very good. All staff are very kind and caring and they do all they can to help her and make her stay more comfortable. They take the residents out and the activities that are organised by the activities lady are very varied and help to keep her active and entertained. They are always welcoming to us when we visit and raise any concerns they may have regarding her general health. We are happy that she is being treated so well.
My nan went into Marmora Care Home for a 6-week placement. As a family we couldn't have asked for better care for her, nan is well looked after, the staff and management were always welcoming and friendly, and also happy to help. We were impressed with the daily activities and the activities lady was always happy and good with everyone. And my nan has made it her forever home now.
Our Mum went to live at The Marmora in March this year. She went in very depressed and now has a new lease of life and a spring in her step thanks to the wonderful team that looks after her. Her confidence has grown, she has made friends and joins in with a whole host of activities daily that the home run. Every single day they do something different with their residents. It's a home driven with pure love for its service users and we could not be more grateful to them for giving Mum her life back. (Ours too - knowing that we don't have to worry about her and know she is being so well cared for).
My father was a beautiful lovely man and dementia took him. He had over two lovely years at Marmora, he was well cared for and enjoyed his last remaining years at this home. It was always busy with so much going on, they tried to do something different every day, we went to Jimmy's Farm, the theatre a few times and also had a lamb in to cuddle. I could never fault anyone there, the staff work so hard in making their home a family home. Marmora is always very clean and well-maintained, Dad's room was serviced well every day. The management are very approachable and keeps the home to a high standard. The location of the home as well is great for beach days or just for a walk into town or the seafront gardens. My dad was happy and so were we, and having palliative care at the home so dad could stay in his own room with family around him was a great comfort.
I would like to leave this review for Marmora Care Home. The home is amazing it offers our mum so much. She is taken out regularly, care service is excellent. We could not ask for a better home for her. All the staff are great, but we would like to offer an extended thank you to three of the ladies, you are amazing with our mum. When we visit the atmosphere is amazing. Thank you. Also a big thank you to the manager for keeping the girls in check when they need it. You all should be very proud A+ home and service. Keep it up.
The staff and management are wonderful and work very hard. I am very happy with the care my mum gets. They also have activities going on during the week which is always fun. You can also visit anytime which makes it easy for people that work and that also shows they have nothing to hide.
Mum was moved from another care home that was not looking after her. We moved her to Marmora Care Home and never regretted it. They often take them out for days out, and are always doing activities with their residents.

I'm very happy with the care my mother receives. She is familiar with the staff and other residents' faces and loves where she lives. I can relax knowing that she is happy and in a safe environment. Staff are always welcoming on my visits to my mother and are very approachable if needed. They make sure that there are plenty of activities for the residents to keep them as active and stimulated as much as possible, including breaks away and days out. A well-recommended care home.
Mum's stay started as an emergency respite and has gone on to be permanent. At first, I wasn't sure about a smaller care house but it has proved to be just what Mum needed. There's always plenty of staff about, service users are always clean and tidy and the place always looks clean. The staff are friendly and helpful and we have been included in all decisions concerning her care. Marmora Care Home is close to the pier and town centre and offers lots of activities outside of the home as well as in. Overall very pleased with Mum's care.
Until my dad went into this care home, I hadn't had any dealings with a care home. The staff go above and beyond what my expectation was of care, they look after my dad like he was their own family member. I have seen first hand how they take the time to sit and spend time with all of the residents and understand their individual needs/wants. They keep the residents active not just physically but mentally with different activities. They are always striving for the best for each resident and I am so reassured that my dad is being so well cared for.
Had to raise an issue with CQC. Mum admitted 2 days beforehand with dementia. Mum was unsettled. The home had mum medicated without notifying me and without my permission as I am mum’s LPA. When I raised concern mum was being medicated every day instead of as and when needed the care home sent me an email. Unless mum was medicated they would not look after her. I would have thought with mum being there only a couple of days they would have implemented strategies to help mum and use the PRN to medicate her as and when needed instead of constant medication. Had to call a dementia nurse about these concerns.
