From reception right to care and recreation excellent detail given for patients and visitors. Nothing is to much trouble.
Since Mum arrived in December 2024, she has been well looked after.
Really good home. Great activities and food seems good.
Lovely care home the staff are very kind and my mum seems on the whole very happy here. Her room is very comfortable and always kept very clean.
My mother has been a happy resident for the past 6 months; her room is pleasant, with enough storage and privacy. There are plenty of activities and events taking place in the care home, but I wish the carers would utilise more encouragement to persuade my mother to join in activities and shows. I recognise deprivation of liberties, but a little encouragement may help. There is plenty of food given, but the quality is poor, a lot of packet food, eg. breaded chicken, fish, oven chips. It would be healthier to have more freshly prepared food. The fee to reside here should enable higher quality of food. I've witnessed my mother being pulled up the bed several times without the use of a slide sheet, which goes against moving and handling guidelines. Things have also gone missing from my mother's room, never to reappear. Frequently, the call bell is left out of her reach. The carers are polite, kind and caring, but the ratio to residents is low. The internet is insufficient to support a smart TV.
Excellent care from the start. Home is fulled with a lot of love. Staff always listen and do all they can for my Nan. They have also welcomed my grandad with open arms who visits everyday, who has found this transition hard.
I visit a family friend. From a great reception through to the carers on the floor is fabulous. The food I have seen looks great and the activities that are organised are really fantastic and varied. Truly a wonderful atmosphere and the residents are really cared for. A pleasure to visit!
I stayed here for eleven nights after leaving hospital. I was very comfortable and the staff service was excellent in particular the medication man.
On my first visit to see my friend all the staff I met had a smile and were friendly and helpful. The lady on reception gave exemplary assistance and exceeded my expectations.
I visited my sister-in-law from Bristol whenever visiting my brother. She was always well cared for. The home was very welcoming and the staff very kind. The home was always very clean which was a bonus as I am aware it's not always about how the home 'looks' but how the residents are cared for. My sister-in-law was well cared for, kept safe and happy. I have now retired from Nursing and would have no hesitation in being a resident myself or recommending loved ones. Thank you to all staff at Okeley for treating my sister-in-law with dignity and respect. Also for supporting my brother on his visits.
Lovely building, and welcoming staff who will always try their best to assist in any given circumstance. Good activities where residents can enjoy themselves and relatives can see photos on the home's social media account. This means a lot when the resident's life prior to the home was a fairly inactive one. Nice rooms, although a little small, but redecoration has been promised which would be lovely. Great staff and carers.
My father-in-law came to Okeley for respite one week a month for 6 months. He was a very difficult resident due to losing his sight and becoming very confused but all the care staff were lovely with him and tried to make him feel at home and at ease. He was assisted with feeding at mealtimes and never felt it was too much bother. Unfortunately he passed away in November due to decline in health and the care home was lovely and so supportive. If he hadn’t passed away we would have had no worries about him continuing his respite there. Thank you to everyone who cared for him.
My sister-in-law had been living in Okeley care home for the last three years. When I found out she was moving into this care home I was so happy because of who the manager is there and the standard of care that would mean for the care given to her. I knew she would be very well looked after. I would also like to say that the care also extended to my brother being welcomed on his visits too. The manager always creates a family feel to her care home which filters through to the staff. My sister-in-law had three happy years at Okeley and the staff were very kind and all her personal needs attended to. I am happy to recommend Okeley Care Home. Thank you so much to everyone there.
My mother spent two weeks respite in Oakley. From the outset, she was treated very well and with kindness and respect. I just hope that for her next respite, she can go back there. I would have no hesitation in putting her into full-time care when the time comes.
My dad has sadly been diagnosed with dementia and has gone downhill very quickly, Oakley Care Home have been fantastic in dealing with his needs at a difficult time for all the family. The home is spotlessly clean and all staff are lovely. I couldn’t rate them highly enough!
Home is very clean. Staff are caring and compassionate. My nan has been in Okeley since December and she is always so happy. She enjoys participating in the activities and loves the food. Very welcoming atmosphere.
We learnt about Okeley from a friend whose husband is a resident here and is very happy. We've always heard very positive things about Okeley. All our enquiries have been dealt with brilliantly and we ended up moving Mum in after an emergency hospital admission following a fall. Everyone is wonderful with Mum, she is very well cared for. Everyone is very supportive of us as a family too, answering our questions and helping us learn new routines. Okeley is a lovely environment which we would highly recommend.
My nan has been at Okeley for a few months now, I have to say I was so scared about her going into a care home but the staff have all been amazing, the show round was enlightening, and the housekeeper really made me feel at ease. The room looked amazing and had penguins made out of towels. The manager and deputy manager have been so supportive and patient in my decision-making. The care staff took the time to get to know my nan from the start and my worries were eased quickly, she always looks clean and smart (as she has always been). I feel that the staff support her dementia with such individuality, it is so calming to know my nan is happy and safe. I often stay for lunch with my nan and the food has been great, the Sunday roast is her favourite, all the trimmings. Thank you Okeley, you all do an amazing job.
Mum moved into Okeley and the staff have been fantastic at helping her settle. The staff keep us up to date with any changes and are always on hand to answer our questions. The food is nutritious and the activities are a nice range for all to join in.
