View Full Details of Stanway Green LodgeThe change in Mum is reassuring to see after only 10 days. She is settling well with the support, kindness and professionalism shown to her by all the staff. Mum is enjoying the variety of activities and is making friends quickly. The home is a warm environment, with two lovely lounges and a dining room. She also has a lovely spacious room if she needs a bit of space. Most importantly of all, Mum doesn't feel lonely anymore and looks happy and stimulated.
Mum had been a resident here for 18 months before she sadly passed away on 5th October. The staff had always been so kind and caring to mum. The manager was always on hand to offer any help or advice. Particularly in the latter weeks of Mum's life when we needed assistance when dealing with her medical issues. We will always be very grateful for that. Not only were the staff so kind to mum they were fantastic with us too. I visited quite a lot and I would always be welcomed with a warm smile. We would highly recommend this care home. Thank you everyone at Stanway Green Lodge.
I'm incredibly pleased with the exceptional care my aunt receives at Stanway Green Lodge. From the start, it was clear this isn't just a care facility but a true home filled with warmth and compassion. The staff are consistently friendly, attentive, and deeply committed to her well-being. Communication is excellent, keeping me informed and involved in her care. The home is always clean, calm, and welcoming, and my aunt's room overlooks a peaceful garden where she enjoys watching birds and squirrels. The environment is warm and comfortable, and there are always engaging activities to keep her entertained. I particularly appreciate the flexible visiting hours, allowing me to see her easily outside of mealtimes, which makes our time together even more special. Knowing she is safe, happy, and well cared for gives me great peace of mind. I highly recommend Stanway Green Lodge to anyone looking for a nurturing and compassionate care home.
Stanway Lodge was recommended by a friend and was delighted to find it as warm and welcoming as she had said. My Aunt is very happy here and feels safe and so well looked after. She is even joining in activities which she has always struggled with a testimony to how comfortable she is living here.
My mother has been cared for very well at Stanway Green Lodge. All staff are friendly and warm and the manager/owner is very conscious of her needs, discussing with medical teams to find the best way to care for her. Communication is excellent between the home and myself and staff are always generous with their time. The environment is always calm, clean and welcoming and there are plenty of activities happening. My mother loves the therapy dog who visits weekly and also the school visits by local children. I am very pleased and relieved that my mother is in such a caring setting.
We are completely satisfied with the kindness, care and professionalism of all of the staff and management at Stanway Green Lodge. In our experience, everyone at the home has a conscientious attitude to their work and we have total confidence that all of mum's health and medical requirements are looked after very well indeed.
My mum has been residing at Stanway Green Lodge since December 2023. It is clean and very homely. Mum is looked after very well by the staff and they are very friendly. She has settled in very well and having her own furniture has helped the transition. There are a lot of activities which are advertised just inside the entrance to the home. A petting dog visits regularly which my mum enjoys very much. The gardens are lovely and colourful and my mum is lucky enough to have a room that overlooks them. Management and the staff are approachable and take good care of my mum. The manager is always there and very hands on which is nice to see and is very welcoming.
Our aunt was in the hospital and moved to a local care home but was not happy. Stanway Green Lodge was recommended by neighbours and friends and as soon as we visited we immediately got the sense of a warm, friendly and caring atmosphere from all the staff we met. Auntie enjoys the food and the company but she has also been able to have meals in her room when she hasn't felt well. We have been able to bring in many of her possessions from her home which has helped her to settle in. The manager was very understanding when Auntie was struggling to decide if this was the place where she wanted to stay. She was allowed time and not pressured into making a decision which was very helpful and she is now settled and safe and pleased to be cared for.
Mum moved into the home in August she seems happy and settled. She enjoys all the activities and the staff are always kind and caring, as a family we are always welcomed and kept up to date with all aspects of Mum's care. The management and staff are very approachable and happy to help with any queries or concerns.
We had visited Stanway Green Lodge early in August 2023, with a view to both my parents going for a trial visit, as they were struggling to cope with living independently. My aunt had been there for the last eight years and was very happy. Sadly, Mum passed away a couple of weeks later, so just Dad moved in. He has a lovely room and while it was a tough time for him (losing Mum, his home, independence etc.) he has settled in very well and is happy there. All members of staff are friendly, helpful, caring and treat Dad with dignity, kindness and care. Some of the staff have taken time to get to know him as an individual, including knowing all his family's names and their relationship to him. When my husband and I visit, we always are greeted and welcomed. Dad is happy, loves the meals and is getting on well in his new home.
We moved Dad into Stanway Green Lodge in February 2023. Dad had been used to his independence, but he was no longer able to look after himself, which was a worry for me and his friends in Colchester. All members of staff treated Dad with dignity, kindness and care. They were approachable and listened to our concerns. Sadly Dad became unwell and passed away in April 2023. Although I live some way from Colchester, I was reassured knowing that Dad was being given excellent care. He was nursed at Stanway Green Lodge for his last few weeks, and I was so grateful that he didn’t have to go to hospital. It was a comfort to know that he wasn’t alone when he passed away. Many thanks to all the team.
If you want a tremendous care home for your relative - look no further! The management and staff are excellent; they treat you like a friend. The care received from all the staff is exceptional. Everyone is treated with patience, respect, dignity, and understanding. They take the time to get to know everyone as an individual and not just another elderly person with dementia and other health problems. Communication is excellent, and you are always made to feel welcome when visiting from the minute you walk into the reception. There is a full activity programme, and you can keep up with events and news on their social media pages. The food is always of high quality, the dining rooms and corridors are all bright and clean, and the environment inside and out is accessible and stimulating. I always have peace of mind when I leave my dad after visiting, knowing that he is in safe hands.
Mum had a short stay in this small and friendly home where she participated in the range of activities which improved her general mobility and well being. Unfortunately, her health took a turn for the worst and after a short spell in hospital, where Mum’s condition was defined as terminal. She returned to the home where the staff ensured her comfort and dignity until she, unfortunately, passed away. The staff communicated with us on all aspects of her care, health and progress and were available to us at all times. We cannot express our gratitude for her care and attention enough.
I would not recommend anyone send loved ones here. That is all I can say without breaking the guidelines on what to post. Disgusted by the management and resulting "care". We had sleepless nights knowing a family member was here, it should be the opposite.
My father moved into the home before Christmas after an extended stay in the hospital. The manager and his team have looked after him really well, helping him with his rehabilitation. He looks much better and enjoys his meals and the many organised activities. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to keep us informed and make us feel welcome when we visit. It's a very professional and caring environment.
I cannot fault the home in any way or recommend it highly enough. The staff go above and beyond, very friendly and accessible at all times. My conversations with the residents are all positive and fill me with confidence that the best care is being given.
I came into the home in October, and the staff made me feel very welcome and settled in very quickly. I have taken part in all the activities, which I find help me meet the other residents. Brilliant fireworks display, plus Christmas Light switch on. I am coming up to four months n the home and have settled in very well. I see more people and have more social contact than I did at my own home.
My father-in-law has been at Stanway Green Lodge since October 2022. During his first months, he has been very well cared for. He settled in well right away, and the staff are very kind and welcoming. He has also enjoyed the number of activities which the home put on for its residents. The home is very well run, with a very caring staff and management team.
My mother has been at Stanway Green Lodge for three years, and during that time has been consistently well cared for. The staff are kind and welcoming, and the home is exceptionally well managed. Rooms were recently recarpeted, and much has been done to improve the gardens.
Since I arrived in January 2022, the staff and management have made me feel very welcome. They provide me with a high level of care; they are very friendly and make sure that I feel safe. The food is very good, and they provide a number of activities, and I have been on several outside visits, which were great fun. Overall, I am very happy with the care and attention I receive.
