View Full Details of St Edith's CourtI have found St Edith's to have a warm, friendly happy and welcoming atmosphere. Staff are kind, caring considerate and patient. Management are willing to act, assist and most important, listen. As Mum is still settling in. She hasn't attended activities yet but we hope she will soon, so I cannot comment on those. I hear laughter and see happy faces in here and it does feel like Mum's home - warm and cosy.
My father enter St Edith's in the respite room after a months stay in hospital after getting stuck in bath. Prior to this he was completely independent at 92 years old. Finding that he now needs assistance with daily tasks has been a shock for him as well as us. The staff who have cared for him have been wonderful and treated him with respect and dignity. We have now got him there full time in a room of his own and he seems to be slowly settling in. St Edith's came highly recommended by several friends who had relatives there in the past and it has not disappeared.
My father-in-law is treated with respect, kindness and the utmost care. The staff are so kind and considerate. Everyone we have encountered has been friendly and informative. The management on site are chatty and kind. Everyone who cares for my relatives is an absolute credit to this company and I have no hesitation in giving an excellent overall score.
The overall atmosphere in the home is excellent. The staff are professional, friendly and welcoming. Catering arrangements and cleanliness are first class. Decoration standards are very good and make the home bright and welcoming.
I am so happy that I found this little gem of a care home. It truly is a caring home from home. I was so worried about using a respite home for my mother-in-law and the staff were so welcoming and reassuring. We had a wonderful initial visit and met residents who were very obviously happy and comfortable and content. My mother-in-law spent a very happy week with caring staff that couldn't do enough for her and even checked her throughout the nights bringing her tea if she wanted it. She loved the food too! The diamonds in St Edith's are the amazing staff; forever cheerful, helpful, loving and caring, working so hard to ensure the happiness and well-being of the residents. She even joined in with social activities and came home looking like a glamour girl after having her hair done there! Thank you so much to everyone. We appreciate you all.
As soon as you walk through the door of St Edith's Court it feels very welcoming and homely, the staff are very friendly and will always answer any questions, the rooms have excellent facilities with en suite bathrooms and fitted kitchens... Mum has only been here a short while but loves her room and the fact she gets a choice of foods... she feels safe knowing staff are around all the time. I feel quite happy that Mum is living here ... and that she is receiving excellent care.
My husband has been a resident at St Edith's since April last year. He had a significant stroke in 2020. It was such a difficult decision for him to move to care but we realised I couldn't cope at home any longer. I feel so lucky to have found St Edith's, I visited many other local care homes. None compared regarding the accommodation. Each resident has their own bedroom/living space plus an en-suite bathroom and kitchen. More importantly, there is a calm friendly atmosphere with caring staff in every role. Food is good to boot! St Edith's appears well managed, responsive to needs and they go above and beyond the basics to mark events as they crop up during the year. I know he is safe and well cared for and we now have the opportunity to spend quality time together again. Thanks.
Our Mum moved to St Edith's in March, it was a painful realisation for both her and us that she was now in need of full-time care, however, since her arrival, she has received amazing care from the whole team at St Edith's and we are grateful for all that each person does. Our Mum is still struggling with her change of circumstances but the care and attention and good food that she is getting are helping both her and us, we all sleep better at night knowing that she is not alone and she knows too that she is being looked after and at the same time, keeps a level of independence - for example, it is always her decision as to when and what she eats, and when she goes to bed etc. It is amazing the work that each member of staff does and when I visit my Mum or when I speak to her on the phone, I know that each person she interacts with does so with professionalism, good grace and good humour.
We knew Mum was struggling to live at home on her own but felt very nervous about mentioning a care home to her. When a room became available, we brought her to St Edith's to have a look around and she was completely sold on it! Everyone you bump into around the home is so kind, supportive and really caring. It's clear that all employees are happy and that makes the fantastic atmosphere. Mum immediately joined in the activities and spends time in the lounge with other residents. I really needn't have worried - St Edith's Court is an amazing place and we are lucky to have our Mum looked after there.
My mother entered St Edith's after falling at home, breaking her femur, three weeks ago. She was very familiar with St Edith's over the years visiting friends. She always said that if she ended up in a care home, it had to be St Edith's. I can now see why. She has been so well cared for and already feels part of the St Edith's family. The staff are caring, happy, very patient and treat her with dignity. She loves the food and has already joined other residents in the lovely bistro.
Beware of the parking. Don't believe you have registered your car when you sign in. There is a separate sign in for parking. My car was being incorrectly identified, if this happens take a photo because the fine arrives 4 months later. Tried to get help from the home but everyone is too busy doing the job they should. No complaints about the care given to my Mum but the parking is a scam!
Resident is new to St Edith's. Settling in very well.
My friend is being incredibly well cared for after her debilitating stroke. Her accommodation is excellent, with her own kitchen and bathroom. The food is great, and nothing is too much trouble. Sadly, her condition needs constant attention, which the staff are happy to give. She couldn't be in a better place.
My mother-in-law has been at St Edith’s for nearly a year now. At 96, she was finding independent living difficult but was very reluctant to leave her own property. Once at St Edith’s, she was allowed to settle at her own pace, and within a short time, her health and general demeanour had greatly improved. She now seems happier and more fulfilled than she has in years and is enjoying both the care and company the home provides. The overall atmosphere is friendly, happy and respectful, and all the staff genuinely seem to care for the residents and are readily available for any questions or reassurance we need. It has given us the peace of mind that our mum is in a safe, secure environment where she is happy and well cared for.
I’m very impressed with this lovely care home and how my friend is being looked after. There’s just a lovely, happy atmosphere and the staff seem to genuinely care about the residents. It’s clean, with comfortable lounges, a bistro/coffee shop and a light and airy dining room which looks out onto the garden. The food is good and I’ve enjoyed lunch there with my friend. There are various activities too. Well done to all concerned in making St Edith’s Court a very nice place to live. It’s wonderful for my friend’s family to see how settled and happy she is.
I have been so impressed with the care and welcome given to my mother since she has been in the care home. All the staff have been wonderful and she is extremely happy with all her medical needs met. She is sociable and has appreciated the facilities and activities offered. It has been such a relief for me too, as I know she is now safe and happy.
St Edith's Court was recommended to us by a Community Health Care Professional. Six months ago Mum had a severe stroke, leaving her with left side paralysis and exhaustion. Mum needed carers four times a day at home. Being widowed, the decision was made to move mum into St Edith's. The emotional improvement in Mum in a short time is noticeable. Mum now has a sense of community, her dignity restored and a quality of life! The rooms are like mini flats, ideal for independence. The staff are super friendly and efficient, the atmosphere is homely, the food in Mum's words is 'fresh and wholesome' and she really appreciates the linen tablecloths! After what has been some dark days, I thank St Edith's management, carers and staff for taking such great care of our beloved mum, and supporting us as a family unit. No regrets. Thank you team St Edith's.
St. Edith's Court is a very caring environment. This home is run by an organised and efficient staff, providing a total all-round homely feeling. The daily menu is flexible, and the programme comprises of various daily activities.
My mother has Parkinson’s disease and found that living independently was becoming more of a challenge. We looked at several homes before choosing St Edith’s - but once we had visited St Edith’s, she was confident that this was the home for her. She enjoys the independence of her own flat but knows that help is always at hand with personal care. The staff at St Edith’s are very caring, and I am happy that she is safe and well looked after.
My grandmother-in-law requires fluid thickener in all drinks. This is administered by carers, but also left out, where it can be added to drinks by visitors. However, there were no instructions on the labels of the thickener and no IDDSI guidance on display, leading to us making drinks far too thickly for her. I passed my concerns on to one of the care assistants and to the team leader, but rather than being met with a positive response to my request that the IDDSI framework is displayed on the wall, I was told that this would merely be “passed to management”. I understand the pressures of the home fully, but I also understand that concerns need to be swiftly addressed and followed up.
