View Full Details of Whittingham HouseMy mum was recently a resident but sadly passed away. Whilst Mum was in their care she was looked after to the highest of standards. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Mum was always clean, tidy, well-fed, and observered at all times. The staff were always very friendly and constantly updating us on Mum's condition. They always made our visits comfortable with plenty of tea and biscuits. We would like to thank all at the home for making Mum's last weeks comfortable.
My mother went in for a short stay. She enjoyed it so much, she didn't want to leave. Staff at all levels were extremely caring, kind and respectful. They all greeted you with warmth and friendliness. The food at the BBQ was absolutely delicious!
Staff are very friendly and professional. Premises are very clean and well decorated.
Today has been very enjoyable. A very friendly atmosphere. Party atmosphere.
The care my mum has is 100%. They continue to look out for her. Encourage her to come out of her room which is lovely to see truly. Dignity and respect always important and they keep us as a family fully informed of any issues. Mum loves it at Whittingham which makes us very happy.
The food was amazing, it honestly was so good, with enough drink and food for everyone. The raffle was set up really well. The singer was brilliant. And the staff were brilliant, honestly was a great day. Thank you, my mum really enjoyed herself.
My mother was discharged to this care home after a long stay in hospital. On visiting her, I found the home to be very clean in the residence rooms and social areas. All the staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly, offering us refreshments whilst being with my mum. They kept a constant eye on the residents to make sure all their needs were met. I personally can't fault anything about this home.
All the staff here are amazing - always very attentive and friendly whenever we visited. The standard of care my father-in-law received was really top notch and we were very grateful. Couldn't recommend them more highly.
Excellent staff who are totally committed to the care of the residents.
My Mum is very happy in this care home. The staff are friendly and prioritise the needs of the residents. I haven't seen a lot of evidence of activities, but I think the management is in the process of addressing this. Thank you for caring for my Mum and I can confidently claim that she is in good hands.
The care and attention my sister receives is good, the staff are always happy and kind and always helpful.
Fantastic party - the staff are always incredible and very attentive to everyone. Even helping with kids which is massively appreciated! Lovely atmosphere as always.
The staff are very kind and caring towards my dad. I have peace of mind knowing that he is well looked after and safe. They take time to talk to him and are very friendly towards him. I am very happy with the care my dad is receiving.
In five years the home cannot be faulted.
My mother has been a resident of Whittingham House for just over a year now and I can truthfully say that the home has improved a lot. They are re-decorating the home, new carpets etc and new flowers for the residents to look at. Also, there are care plans for each resident which the staff have access to so they can get to know what each resident likes and needs. Since there has been an activities lady there, things have improved. Every day there are activities for the residents to partake in if they choose to. There are also special activities throughout the year, with Christmas party, Halloween party, Valentine party, Easter party etc. There are also various outside activities throughout the year, in which the carers take out some residents to various places. I think that most of the staff/carers really care for the resident, I see this when I visit my mum every week and I see that the residents do not just sit in their chair staring at the TV or floor.
Over the 3 years that mum has been resident, there have been ups and downs. Some periods of poor management and the odd member of unkind staff. But under recent management, have noticed improvement throughout. Mum always says how kind the staff are which makes it made bearable for her to be in a home. The thing most lacking is daily activities. Most of the time the residents just sit in front of the TV.
I found my family and I were always treated with courtesy and kindness. The staff were always available to listen and help. The rooms and public area are clean and no nasty smells. I would recommend Whittingham House to anyone.
Staff are very caring. Rooms are satisfactory and clean. Seems to be a high turnover of staff. Food is good. My mother is unfortunately past the stage of taking party in activities. The only downside is that things have gone missing from her room such as glasses and a TV remote control.
