View Full Details of Barton Lodge Care HomeI was at Barton Lodge Care Home between May and October 2024. I was in very poor health when I arrived. Right from the word go, I received amazing attention from the team at Barton Lodge. I had a marvellous five months, taking me from the depths of despair to where I am now, back in my own home. Thanks to the team's close attention and kindness.
My mum was a resident at Barton Lodge for the last 8 weeks of her life. From our very first visit to the care home, before we were even sure we needed it, we were impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff. We noticed that the care home manager took a personal interest in residents while she was showing us around. Throughout Mum's stay at Barton Lodge, she was treated with dignity, kindness, and real loving care from all the staff. Every single member of staff that we came into contact with was cheerful, kind, and caring. Staff formed a good relationship with us and kept us fully informed of Mum's care and needs. We felt that all her needs were met and the care home was able to arrange visits from the GP, podiatrist, dentist, and optician. The quality of the environment was excellent, including the furnishings, activities on offer, and the gardens. The care home was able to give Mum some comfort and peace in her last few weeks and she received excellent care.
A wonderful place for respite. Caring, attentive staff, all well-dressed and clean, able to talk clearly. Services provided well thought through, service provided first-rate. All staff willing to help and clean and tidy room constantly. Home in a very good condition and garden a delight to use. Plenty of seating and whole site very secure. My guests were welcomed and very impressed with the whole situation. I have had a restful recovery period with no stress. Well done.
My husband has been in here for about a month. He needs an electric stand to move him to his wheelchair or seat. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They are very helpful and always cheerful from the manager down. I could have not picked a better place and he is happy there. The refurbishment is excellent, the food is great and as a visitor regularly always made to feel very welcome.
Barton Lodge have made my mother feel so welcome during a very difficult time for her. The staff have been so friendly and the manager has given us so much advice and help it's been overwhelming. It's a lovely care home and I'm more than happy that we have gone there.
My father became a resident at Barton Lodge following a period of daycare during the previous months. He has settled in very well. The staff at Barton have made this experience for both my parents very positive. They have been very kind and caring towards my father as well as being sensitive and respectful towards my mother during this difficult time. The staff are always kind, friendly and supportive.
Attend Day Care once or twice a month. Very impressed. Excellent care and lovely meals. Staff very friendly and helpful. I look forward to coming. I enjoy the activities especially when there is music and singing.
My husband has started going to the day centre and is very happy there. I have found all the helpers very kind and understanding. It is difficult for me to comment on the daily routine as he has dementia and doesn't remember what he has done on the day but he comes home quite happy.
My husband became a resident in January after having daycare for a couple of months. Thanks to very supportive staff this has been a positive experience both for my husband and myself. The staff have been very caring and considerate towards both of us. I feel very positive that he is being well cared for and all his needs are being met.
Although my mother could not stay long at Barton Lodge Care Home as she became very unwell, we were all impressed by the staff, their care of my mother and us and all in such beautiful surroundings. We were impressed by the speed anything got done, such as a dedicated telephone line and PAT testing and picture hanging. We have all decided we would like to move in when our time comes.
My mum has just completed a three-week period of respite at Barton Lodge Care Home. She greatly enjoyed her time there and found all the staff so lovely. She also enjoyed the lovely, home-cooked food and had fun taking part in the activities on offer. She also loved the view over to the Needles from her room. It was very reassuring to know that she was so well cared for and we would have no hesitation in her coming for another stay in the future.
My mother-in-law needed new bras, but the staff had noticed that from her "older" bras, she was getting a rash from them. The staff were absolutely wonderful in advising me of the type of bra that could be purchased to stop/prevent this discomfort. They advised on size, material and style - I found that their care and kindness helped the whole process a lot easier for me, and ultimately, I was able to purchase some that my mother-in-law is happy with!
All staff are friendly, supportive and caring. The home is professionally managed and flexible to meet its resident's needs. The property is welcoming, clean and well-maintained. The property is situated within lovely grounds with excellent views of the coast and The Needles of the Isle of White. We are very grateful to the excellent manager and their team.
The care that all the lovely staff (kitchen, laundry, nursing staff and management - sorry if I’ve missed anyone) have shown to my father and myself has blown us both away. They have answered any questions and concerns I have had and without exception, have gone above and beyond for us. Although my father is temporarily here for respite care, it is of great comfort to both of us that should he ever need to return, he will be starting with a very positive experience behind him. Gold star, go to the top of the class!
Attended my father in the home on an ad hoc visit not arranged. He was up in the lounge and looked comfortable and healthy. The home is always clean and tidy, no smells of any sort. Offered tea and was made welcome. My father seemed as OK as he could be with his health problems. Staff always very helpful and welcoming and gave us an update on his progress. Overall we are very happy with the home.
We had an issue with the local GP surgery which affected the resident at Barton Lodge Care Home. Together, I and the manager and care staff managed to resolve this issue in a caring, considerate and understanding manner to the ongoing benefit of the resident and her family.
Mum has been living here for just over 15 months. During this time, the staff have shown her nothing but kindness and friendship as well as going out of their way to add those extra touches to make it feel like home. Mum doesn't like to mix much, so hasn't benefited from the multiple events the staff put on, instead, they have put a feeding table right outside her window so she can get entertainment from watching the birds and squirrels. I can't think of anywhere else that we would want our mum to stay.
The staff are kind, patient and caring. The home has an extensive programme of activities and entertainment for the residents. In an ideal world, I would love to look after my mother and myself, but this is not possible in the circumstances. At least I can feel confident that she is being well cared for and her everyday needs met.
Staff very accommodating. My wife always neat and tidy. I was allowed to spend time with my wife on my birthday and bring a large cake. You can visit anytime without warning. The last sentence speaks volumes about the care residents receive.
The care provided to my father when he was at Barton Lodge was outstanding. I was so impressed and so grateful for all the help and support that was offered to my father. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
