View Full Details of Basingfield Court Residential Care HomeI need 2 carers to assist me with bathroom toilet etc. a long wait for this service. Bad language from carer on night shift, have complained no different at all. Up to 25 minutes wait for bell to be answered at times. Had to wait up to 30 minutes for pain killers during the night shift.
This is my father-in-law's 2nd stay at this care home. The staff are so friendly and helpful My father-in-law recognised the staff straight away from last time. And was given an amazing welcome. I think he will enjoy his stay here.
I can not speak highly enough of Basingfield Court the room is like being at home, the care is amazing kind compationate warm and friendy.
My mother came to Basingfield Court for 6 weeks of respite after a period in hospital. The difference between when she came in to when she left was amazing! She was brighter, more alert and more able and independent both physically and mentally. The home has a nice atmosphere with incredibly caring staff. Mum loved the food and even put on some much needed weight.
Basingfield Court Residential Care Home is a very ideal place for my mum-in-law. The staff are very warm and welcoming. Everyone is very friendly and my mum-in-law was very comfortable with everyone in her three-week stay when she was there. She cannot speak English so she was given a sign chart to be able to express herself which was very good. I will definitely send her again for her respite. A big thank you to all the staff members for taking care of her.
My husband, who has Lewy body dementia, recently spent two weeks respite care at Basingfield Court Residential Care Home. The manager is very caring and professional and the staff were friendly and helpful. My husband had a lovely room on the ground floor which gave him easy access to the communal/dining room. The staff ensured that he attended the entertainment and was not left on his own in his room. I was happy with his care and have booked another respite stay later in the year. I would rate the home good but with a couple of improvements, it could be excellent. 1) Offer male residents a daily shave. 2) Implement a process to monitor residents' fluid intake. 3) Ensure a member of staff is in the dining room during mealtimes, encouraging to eat more.
I would recommend this care home without reservation. The management and staff are competent, professional and caring. During my three-week respite care stay, I found that the staff were always ready to help, compassionate and able. Basingfield Court Residential Care Home was recommended to me by a nurse at the clinic where I had surgery. I commend Basingfield Court to you.
My dad moved in early January and took a few weeks to settle into his new surroundings. He is very comfortable in his new room which is home from home with all of his things around him. He has made a few new friends, enjoys the activities and is very happy to have the help and support from the staff. I am so happy that we chose Basingfield Court Residential Care Home. The staff are incredible, it really is like being at home, friendly, happy and cosy. I couldn't be happier.
Very welcoming tea, and a beautifully laid out home. The manager was wonderful and my aunt never thought she would be happy in a care home. Cannot recommend enough, clean and hospitable with a good menu and varied activities provided. We are a very happy and grateful family.
Dad has been a resident of Basingfield Court since April 2023. It was quite a wrench leaving his own flat to move to a care home after independent living. Since arriving, he has been shown nothing by kindness from all the staff at Basingfield Court. I cannot praise them enough. Nothing is too much trouble, and I feel Dad is treated with the utmost respect. He chooses to spend most of the time in his room as he's not the most sociable of people, but the staff make a point of going to sit with him regularly so he can chat with them about anything he wants. They give him time and the opportunity to engage. They actively encourage his hobbies and try and find occupations for him to fill his time. I find all the staff and management to be very warm and friendly, always a welcoming smile to greet me when I visit and a quick chat, which is just lovely. Dad has told me he is extremely happy there, and that's the best result I could possibly ask for.
Very friendly and caring staff. Not just caring for my mother-in-law, but the whole family. The grounds and home are well cared for and homely. So pleased my mother-in-law was able to take up residence in Basingfield Court. Would recommend it to anyone with a loved one who needs extra care.
Very welcoming staff. Home very clean and tidy. Nice food, many with lots of options.
We were slightly worried when a new management took over, but we need not have worried because the new manager is lovely and very approachable at any time. The activities offered to the residents are varied as well as fun and the activities coordinator is truly dedicated to the residents and will personally encourage all to join in with the activities each week. My mum's dementia is slowly deteriorating, but all the staff are so lovely and understanding. We couldn’t recommend the home enough to anyone considering it as an option for their loved one.
My mother is extremely happy here. She is cared for, looked after and feels like part of an extended family. She is a very fussy eater, yet the team always find her something that she enjoys and is healthy. Thank you.
I am happy that my mum is so well cared for at Basingfield. The staff are very caring, helpful and welcoming when I visit Mum. There is a happy atmosphere.
We would like to congratulate the new manager and her team for achieving a lovely, positive, relaxed and caring atmosphere for residents, service users, volunteers, visitors and relatives at Basingfield Court Residential Care Home. Everyone is always so cheerful, friendly and obliging and the range and quality of activities available is excellent. We really appreciate the professionalism, kindness and good humour and so, we know, does our 96-year-old mother.
The staff are caring and there are activities to take part in. Staff try to give a variety of activities so everyone can take part. The quality of food has improved. General communication with family has been haphazard and not always clear.
We found this care home for my dad in January 2023 and he fell in love with it straight away. His health hasn't been very good since he came home from Spain last September but since he has been in Basingfield Court Residential Care Home, he's come back to life. You're an amazing care home, friendly warm and inviting and Dad loves the food, gardening and entertainment.
I have been impressed by the homely and friendly atmosphere. The care staff are very 'caring' and treat my friend with great dignity and kindness, gently encouraging her when she is anxious or distressed. It is such an encouragement to see my friend enjoying crafts and social skills via social media. I am grateful to all the staff, it has been a very difficult and distressing time but it is good to see my friend smiling and interacting with others.
My mother has been here for several months. We were able to put some of her personal belongings in her flat before she came and was delighted on arrival. The staff have been kind, caring and attentive and always treat her with respect. She is very happy here - even if she chooses not to socialise, they respect that. It is a huge comfort to her family that she is content and well cared for. Thank you!
