From the moment I first stepped inside Borovere, I knew Mum would be incredibly well looked after and I wasn't wrong. Lovely people who genuinely care for their residents. Super helpful staff, lovely to interact with, always smiling. Highly recommend Borovere. Rooms are lovely and kept clean and tidy. Mum very much felt at home.
My mum had a fall in the care home on Tuesday. The staff were amazing, I couldn't have wished for her to have had better care and attention. They were very reassuring and kept Mum calm while they waited for the paramedics.
Mum really enjoyed her two years and eight months at Borovere. She settled well and found it a gracious, friendly and very pleasant place to live. She loved the happy atmosphere in the lounge with the cheerful activities coordinators, spending most of her time there. The manager and carers were very kind, professional and friendly and the senior carers looked after her medical needs so well. The support staff too were always so nice to Mum, who benefitted so much from the pleasant daily pattern of the days with homely coffee, tea and bedtime drinks between good meals in the pleasant dining room. Her many family visitors were always welcomed by the staff who were very helpful in arranging visits for those travelling from far and near. When she was mobile, she was taken out to community events which she enjoyed very much. The family were so kindly supported throughout her time and we are very thankful that we chose Borovere!
My mym's time at Borovere was lovely. The staff were kind, caring, sensitive and considerate to my mum's needs. My mum was there for two and a half years, and I never had any concerns for the care they gave her. The manager is the key member of staff. She runs an excellent home, and the staff respect her.
Mum settled quickly. After a couple of weeks, she stopped asking when she was coming home. The staff introduced her to other residents and helped her join in the activities making her feel secure. Mum began eating normal food again after being on a liquid diet. I was kept informed by phone of any changes even though I visit every week. Mum laughed and joked with the staff and began to have a new lease of life at 101. She was taken out and enjoyed all the activities and visits from organisations. I am so pleased we chose Borovere Care Home.
Mum has now been in Borovere for a few months and has settled in really well. The staff are so kind and caring; she speaks well of everyone. We wanted a small tea party for Mum's 97th birthday, and the team were really helpful. They arranged the lounge for us with drinks and a birthday cake and also heated up the items that we brought in. They were on hand for anything we needed on the day. There's always a nice atmosphere in the home, and being smaller, it has a cosy and personal feel compared to some of the larger ones I have visited.
We chose Borovere for Mum as it was smaller in scale and had a warm, homely atmosphere. The permanent and agency staff are excellent: kind and caring. They dealt with Mum's increasing personal needs with sensitivity. There are varied activities for those that want them and a good choice of food.
We visited my sister on her birthday. She was lively and happy throughout our visit, particularly when the care home staff joined us for a few minutes, producing a birthday cake as well as presents and cards signed by more than a dozen staff and residents. This made her day complete, and we left feeling really glad that she was living among such nice people.
The home has been a perfect, safe and warm environment for my mum since moving there six months ago. The staff have shown compassion and empathy and a real warmth towards her. As a family, we have always been impressed with the breadth of activities keeping the residents occupied. Thank you so much for being so kind.
I found this care home on google, searching the area in the middle of where my sister and I reside. On reading from their website I found that it was the one I would like my mum to become a resident in. Sister and I visited, discussed opportunities and agreed Borovere was definitely the one for us, however Mum has always said 'Please never put me in a care home', so Sister and I were very anxious. Now after only a month, Mum loves the place, she looks better and is eating well, both Sister and I are of course very happy with this. I can now tell you too that the staff at the care home are first class and are led by a very good and caring Manager. I am sure that my Mum has now got a lot of life left in front of her, even though she is 101 years of age, a situation that I could not be sure of with the former visiting home carers.
Although my father-in-law only stayed at Borovere for three days before he was admitted to A & E at a local hospital, he thoroughly enjoyed his stay and remarked on how kind and caring the staff were - all of them. We can back that up from our daily visits too, particularly the house manager. The home focuses on it's homely, family atmosphere and it really is just that. One other thing my father-in-law commended was the food, which is high raise indeed.
Dad was welcomed into Borovere in mid-2016 at age 94 - it became his “home from home” for almost 7 years until he sadly passed away at the amazing age of 101 years, 6 months, in 2023. He was always treated with care, compassion, and respect – and our family were always made welcome and included - in fact, we felt part of the Borovere “family”. Dad was very happy at Borovere – especially when it was “fish n chips” for lunch on a Friday – and he used to participate in the activities with much enjoyment. Dad’s 100th Birthday was unforgettable, in so many ways, and we will be forever indebted to the Borovere staff for all they did to mark the event. Our family always had great confidence in the management at Borovere, especially during the difficult times of Covid. We feel very fortunate indeed that Dad was at Borovere – in fact, we believe that it is through the care he received that he was able to live so long. One hundred and one years, and six months. Thank you Borovere, for everything.
Dad lived at Borovere, from May 2016, until his death in January 2022. Borovere has a nice home from home feeling. Dad always seemed happy and content living there. The staff/management team, have always been kind and caring and made visitors welcome. When Dad was put on end of life care, we were allowed to spend a lot of time with him which was a great comfort. I shall miss visiting Borovere, but happy, we made the right choice of care home for Dad.
My mother has been a resident at Borovere for eight months. She has a comfortable room, to which we have added some items of her own furniture to help her settle into her new environment. She is very happy in the home and often comments how nice everyone is towards her and how helpful the staff are. She enjoys the food provided. Mum is encouraged to join in with the planned activities which helps to stimulate her. This is a small care home, which enables the staff to provide a personal service, as they get to know know each resident.
My mother was used to having full time care by her children, with the support from a care agency until covid. She came to Borovere, due to our exhaustion. I think she found it difficult to adjust because of her failing eyesight and deafness. This meant, she hasn’t interacted with other residents as she might have done. She finds eating in front and waiting of others embarrassing, as she is unable to see what is on her plate and how much she is attempting to put in her mouth. All the carers have been very kind to her and she really enjoys the interaction with them. I do feel that the meals are the weak point. She was used to having a variety of green vegetables, kale, broccoli etc.(not peas) baked fish, chicken and gammon etc, things that were easy to digest and a variety of desserts. Please don’t think she is always complaining, she isn’t, some meals she says are delicious!
Excellent care, great attention to detail, also quick details, for example ensuring that my mum's room has shelves, and pictures, are swiftly put up. All adding to her overall experience of care and this being her home.
Borovere is a beautifully kept home, very comfortable for the residents and whenever I go, it is always spotlessly clean. My aunt is always very happy when we visit, she looks, well looked after and enjoys the activities and interaction with all of the staff and other residents. As visitors, we are always made to feel welcome and have been regularly kept informed of all the changes to visiting due to Covid etc. The management team are always very accessible and happy to discuss any concerns we may have. A big thank you to all of the staff for keeping our loved ones safe during this difficult time.
My mother moved into Borovere in 2018 after my father died. They had been married for 77 years. The family were naturally worried about how Mum would cope with not only losing her soul mate but leaving her own home. We need not have been concerned as the staff at Borovere did everything they could to help her settle. The care they have given her since has been amazing. Last year Mum was 100 years old. The scope to celebrate due to COVID was limited but the staff made every effort to make the day special for her. She has just celebrated her 101 birthday and once again celebrations had to be limited. Given all the extra calls on their time due to COVID, the staff still made it memorable for not only Mum but the family. We have some lovely photos of her looking so happy. Thank you Borovere.
My mother-in-law moved to Borovere in 2018 and we were struck immediately by the kindness and the efficiency of the whole team. She has enjoyed the company of the other residents, the excellent home-cooked meals and also being able to provide a lap for Jack the cat. This year has been particularly challenging and the staff have worked tirelessly to keep people safe and the home Covid-free. We are very grateful for both the professionalism and the quality of her care. This really is a lovely home.
My mother has been in Borovere for 4 years and is extremely well cared for in all ways. The staff are friendly and kind. I feel very confident to leave her there knowing she is cared for, safe, well-fed, and has all the comforts she could wish for. As well as providing all of these, they go one step more and really care for the elderly who need love and comfort. A lot of the staff are the same staff from when she first arrived and therefore they are familiar with her and she with them.
