View Full Details of Brackenlea Care HomeI visited my friend in Brackenlea Care Home this month. She was having her nails filed and polished. She is always well cared for and groomed. I was welcomed and included in what was going on. We were in the lounge. All the staff were attentive and kind to me and all the residents. We all enjoyed tea and homemade cake. On all my visits to Brackenlea, I have found the staff unfailingly friendly. My friend is happy there.
We cannot fault the staff, care, and facilities at Brackenlea. Since we've known it we as the next of kin have always been treated well, informed of anything, no matter how big or small. And we are closely involved with our relative's care plan. Our relative is 99 years old and registered with dementia, she cannot convey much but she can convey how well she's looked after and how happy she is there.
I am a 93-year-old lady needing a little extra care and attention. Ever since my arrival, I have been looked after so well by everyone and made to feel very welcome. Residents and staff make Brackenlea Care Home feel very homely and comfortable.
Brackenlea Care Home offers everything that my mother (93 years) requires at this stage of her life. Having initially been accepted on a respite basis whilst recovering from hip surgery. With her continuing need for more personal care and supervision, she decided that she would be happy to stay for the longer-term. All staff are extremely caring and make her feel a valued member of the home community.
Mum is always clean and dressed appropriately. She is always telling me how kind/caring the staff are, and how they do everything she could wish for. This, in turn, is also demonstrated on my visits. I think all the staff know my name. I don't think we could have found anywhere better.
Since coming to Brackenlea Care Home, my mother has struggled to settle in but that is more due to her illness. She gets on well with the carers who are very nice and attentive. She is quite new to the home so in time, she may feel more at home.
My mother-in-law, at first, felt lost coming to a strange place but very quickly was made to feel at home. The staff are very welcoming and attentive to those in their care, making sure medical care is given when needed, meaning that the fears when the mother-in-law lived on her own are now gone and we can relax.
My mum has been at Brackenlea Care Home for a few years now and I couldn't recommend them enough. The compassion and care she receives is amazing.
My nan has been at Brackenlea Care Home for the last few years and I can not sing their praises enough. All staff are amazing with my nan and her personal needs. The entertainment they provide is amazing throughout the year. I'm so happy that my nan is at this care home - the treatment and care she receives is outstanding.
Over the last fifteen months, my husband has always received excellent care. Thank you.
All the staff are lovely, polite and very caring. Mum loves the activities and the staff too.
Lovely staff, friendly feel there could be a bit more outside activities and the rooms are quite small. Get lots of teas and coffees and staff are always polite friendly and helpful, nice care home.
All the staff at Brackenlea Care Home are exceptionally friendly, helpful and professional. They also communicate regularly and keep me well-informed. Most importantly my uncle is well looked after and happy. Everyone very much cares.
It is lovely to see my Mum settled and happy. She was quite depressed when she moved to Brackenlea and it is lovely to see her smiling and enjoying all the activities and entertainment. Well done Brackenlea and thank you for the care you provide.
I’m not sure I can articulate fully what I have witnessed in this setting. My grandmother has been living here since Autumn 2018. They have been some of the happiest years of her life. She is back at the home from the hospital, being cared for through end of life. I am moved by the genuine compassion, affection and patience shown by the people that work there. It’s the acts of kindness I see in passing, in corridors, in conversations, that I find most touching. Interactions that will be forgotten by the residents minutes later but are tender and dignified and loving nonetheless. This does not do justice to my observations. I don’t think you can be taught to be what these people are. They are everything that is beautiful about being human. I don’t think that I can ever repay them for what they have done. The care extends to the families. Tokens are given from their own pockets, concern and respect. Organisations comprise of people and the staff are outstanding.
Kind, friendly, thoughtful staff. Activities every day for all the residents to join in or to one to one if a resident needs a quiet time. Every resident is thought of as an individual and the staff will make sure they cover their needs in a group or on their own. A wonderful place will book a room for later.
Staff very friendly and accomodating when visiting our Nan. Showed us seats so we could talk to our Nan through the window.
My mother is very happy here because the carers take exceptional care and show so much kindness. Mum only says good things about the staff. It feels like a welcoming home and mum has been able to settle well and make friends. I never worry about her welfare as they have shown that the welfare of their residents is paramount.
They have settled my nan in very well, made her feel welcomed and loved. She looks very happy. I know she will be happy here as she will make lots of friends and do lots of activities with other residents and staff.
Over the last 5 years we have visited over 140 homes in Hampshire and surrounding counties so when it was time for us to find somewhere for my wife's elderly mother we knew exactly which homes to short-list for her to settle in and make a new home. Top of the list was Brackenlea and we could not be happier with our decision. She receives wonderful care and friendship there and we can relax knowing she is safe and well looked after by the amazing staff. We would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good care home.
