My mother has been at Forest Brow for the last few months and I cannot praise the Manager and her team enough. All the staff, without exception, are very friendly and amazing with the residences. Having visited many other homes before I chose Forest Brow for my mum I can say wholeheartedly that this is the best nursing home that I have been to by far. The presentation of the home is immaculate, clean and the care is outstanding.
Another lovely visit with my husband today lovely food was served to the residents. I love the feeling as you are welcomed into the house by everyone who answers the door no matter what part of the team, you feel so welcomed as if you are going into the staff's own homes, the smiles on their faces are genuine, not fake in any way, how are you? Would on like drink? When I go like to feed my husband so would you like lunch? Nothing is ever a problem or trouble to the staff my husband has a few problems with the help from the Manager and the team he has come on leaps and bounds he is smiling more and laughing which he hasn't done since his diagnosis 2014, and speaking a few words, he's looking so much better than he did when he moved on March 24. I and the rest of our family cannot thank these lovely people for all they do for my husband they say it's their job but from our experiences, I cannot find the right words to describe them apart from angels this house is like Buckingham Palace but better
What a little gem! I recently visited my mother, who has just moved in, and was very impressed with the whole setup. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, the place appeared to be spotless and well-maintained. We were even offered coffee and cake. It says I’m not allowed to mention names, but the larger lady with, apparently, a dreadful singing voice, stood out as a real asset to the establishment. My mother has settled in well and is quite happy to stay there until, in her words, she “pops her clogs”. I’m looking forward to a return visit.
I visited my husband today, I haven't seen him for a week as he moved to Forest Brow very recently and wanted him to settle in, and he sure has done. He looks so much better he looks comfortable his room is just how he would have done it. The staff truly are very pleasant, and caring everyone who walked past his room popped their head in to say hello so friendly. I wasn't there for lunchtime so I cannot comment on it apart from my husband is eating well not for the activities, but I'm very much looking forward to spending more time at Forest Brow, the manager came into us letting us know what's happening such a very caring human. Nothing is any bother for the manager and her team so glad I found this home for my husband I know he is in the right place now Thank you all for all you have done and continue to do for my husband and others we really do appreciate it Take care.
I have just come back from visiting my mother at Forest Brow at an Open afternoon. It was a lovely warm experience with all the staff making a lot of effort to make it a success. I have just read the 'top tips for writing a review' and it stipulates that you should not mention people by name or by identifiable characteristics so I shall say that a particular rendition of 'Doing the Lambeth Walk' by a lovely lady was joined in most enthusiastically by someone who really loves to sing. (Forest Browers will immediately know who I mean!) What I liked most about the occasion was that it wasn't an awful lot different from a normal afternoon there when there's a sing-song and a bit of a dance on, more people but just as much care and affection for everyone as there would be on a normal day. It is wonderful to be able to leave my Mum after a visit and know she is safe and cared for.
My first visit to view was unannounced, this was no problem and the manager showed me around and discussed my mother’s needs. I was very impressed with her attitude and knowledge. The clean, tidy, spacious, light and airy 4 communal areas are in great condition and a good size. The huge secure garden and patio will be a huge bonus with free access for the residents in the summer. We chose a lovely room with a huge south-facing window overlooking the garden and trees for my mother. The manager was amazing at getting the council on board with our choice for my mum and quickly sorted the sudden urgent admission days before Christmas. My mum loves her room and the communal spaces, she tells me the staff are lovely and the food fantastic and she is settling in well. The staff have been lovely every time I have visited as well, knowing me by name. The manager fosters a great atmosphere with her knowledge of her job and her attitude to her staff who are happy making a happy home for everyone.
My husband has been a resident for almost three years. He is content. Management and staff are welcoming, available and caring. Regular texts, newsletters and relatives meetings keep me informed. Problems of any type are dealt with, and I am kept in the picture. I have already recommended Forest Brown when asked!
My mother has been happily living here for over 8 years. It is a warm, friendly home with staff who truly care for the residents and their wellbeing. Like many homes it went off the boil during covid and due to some management issues but it has done a brilliant job turning itself around and is now back to its wonderful self again, this is largely due to the hard work of wonderfully caring staff. I am delighted to be be once again happy to recommend the home to anyone. In my relatives words at my visit today, " I'm very happy here it's such a nice place "
After a long search for a trusted care home for our lovely mum we chose Forest Brow in Liss. All the staff were so caring, friendly and welcoming and we felt it was a relaxed, safe atmosphere for our mum to be in the latter stages of her life. Mum had her own room with an en-suite and tv looking the beautiful gardens. After our experience at Forest Brow, I would recommend this care home and I do. Lovely place.
As soon as you enter Forestbrow you know you've made the right choice for the resident as it feels like home. The staff are always bubbly and chatty and it's always clean. The food is home-cooked traditional food, just perfect for the residents.
My siblings and I have been very happy with the care and attention given to our mother since she first went to Forest Brow 3 years ago. The staff always take care of our mother with genuine kindness and are so welcoming to us when we visit. The house is in a lovely setting and quite often the residents are outside enjoying the garden. It has been heartening to see the home come out of the covid period opening its doors once again, with no restrictions on visiting, activities for the residents and new staff becoming part of the team.
The team at Forest Brow Care Home cared so well for my father in his final months. After a challenging time, they brought him back to life and ensured that he was safe and well. In addition, they ensured that his quality of life was much better than where he had been before.
My mother has been at Forest Brow Care Home for many years now, initially as a day resident, then some respite and then fully residential for about the last eight years. She has Altziemer's which has gradually worsened, she is now completely bedbound and non-communicative. She is looked after well with genuine compassion. It is a relief to me to know that she is safe and cared for - this was particularly true during the very difficult period of the pandemic.
This would be the care home I would want to be looked after in if ever I required it! My mother-in-law has vascular dementia and is so happy here, comparing it to staying in a hotel, such is the comfort, food, care, cleanliness and general ambience of the facilities, garden, interesting features like the style of mirrors and lights and particularly the attentiveness of the staff. It doesn't look or feel like a care home, even though the level of care is exemplary. It has the feeling of a home from home where residents are individually known, cared for by the patient, friendly and professional staff, overseen by hard-working and attentive senior staff. It is a place where I am always welcomed by whichever staff is on duty, invited to activities which are put on for the residents, clearly communicated with and can always ask questions if ever they arise. I highly recommend this care home to anyone who wants their loved ones cared for as an individual person, not just as a patient.
Forest Brow is a very caring home and looks after its residents extremely well. My mother-in-law is very well cared for, her needs are met with dignity, and the food is excellent. It is set in a beautiful old house with beautiful gardens which is delightful to sit in. I would recommend Forest Brow without hesitation.
I am very happy with the care home as the staff are very helpful and friendly. The facility is always clean and we have enjoyed walking in the large garden. My wife says she is happy there. She also says that she enjoys the food and the snacks they serve.
My mother spent two years at Forest Brow and was very happy there until she passed away in January. The staff are friendly and attentive and actually care about the residents, getting to know them, treating each resident as an individual and taking great care in maintaining their dignity at all times.
Mark, my uncle had vascular dementia and stayed in Forest Brow from January 2020 until he died in September 2022 during the height of of Covid. All the staff were really helpful and went above and beyond what we could expect. Despite the fact anyone with dementia can be difficult the kindness shown by everone at Forest Brow shone through.
Things at home went downhill during the covid crisis. l think mainly due to staffing issues, restrictions on access to well-being activities, hairdressing, relatives visits etc. plus change of management. It seems that over the last few months, a lot has been put in place to improve things. There is a very proactive activities coordinator and the permanent staff are excellent and very kind. However, it still feels rather short-staffed with quite a lot of agency staff filling the gaps. There remains a slightly spartan feel about the home but that too is improving. Some outings would be helpful but things are definitely looking up.
As my dad's Alzheimer's progressed the time came when he and the family needed help. Forest Brow was a lucky accident for us, dad came to stay for emergency respite care, and he is a happy resident now. He is loved by the staff and it is a super friendly and homely place for us to visit and spend time. Forest Brow understood the importance of the settling in phase for our family, not just dad. The continous bespoke care dad receives is targeted at his character and his needs - it is exemplary.
