View Full Details of The Gables Care HomeStaff are amazing so caring and thoughtful to every residents needs. Very happy home as residents always seem happy when we visit my mum. Staff will go out of their way to make sure all residents have what they need
Not modern not plush but what a welcoming place. Homely caring environment, staffed by excellent carers and led by an experienced management team. From the care given to the menus offered, to activities provided the resident is at the centre of all planning. Care plans are updated regularly. My mother has been the Gables for three years and I would not wish her to be anywhere else. Management are approachable and understanding of any concerns.
My mother has been a resident since February 2020, from early signs of dementia to full dementia. The Gable's Home Manager and all staff have shown love and care for mum, and I have been kept informed of all issues.
4 years ago my mother went into the above care home with Alzheimers and at times could be quite a "challenging character." I cannot praise the staff enough for their excellent standard of care, patience, and understanding with Mum. The managers and the entire team have been supportive and kind, keeping me updated. My sincere thanks goes to them all for giving so much of themselves to providing the care and attention Mum needed. Mum has recently passed away aged 98 years.
My father has settled in well and I know he is safe and cared for. The process for me was very difficult. Without the support of the manager and staff, I would not have coped with the separation from my father. His care is exceptional and the support offered to me has been outstanding. I know we have made the right decision. As soon as Dad walked in, he said 'I think I could be very happy here' - and he is.
From manager to all staff at The Gables, great care, very polite looking and keeping safe at all times and during Covid lockdown regular calls and visits. The staff are excellent, with many years with the home and care shown.
We can’t start to thank the manager and team at the Gables, for all the care they give to my mum. The decision for Mum to go into care was one of the hardest things, as a family, we have had to do but the manager and her team have been so understanding and supportive. They offered warmth and understanding, especially for my dad who struggled being apart from Mum. They show total professionalism, empathy and a sense of humour that helps humanise what has been an emotional upheaval. My mum has got her spark back, looks well and sounds as if she is enjoying herself, which is something dementia was previously taking away. Really looking forward to catching up and meeting everyone properly as we ease out of lockdown. Thank you to the manager and your amazing team for looking after my mum so well. We miss her like crazy but know she is safe happy and extremely well cared for.
About six years ago, I and my sister had to find a good care home for our mother. We had looked at quite a few but did not feel that any were right for her. That was until we found the Gables in Netley. The minute we walked into the home, we felt that heartwarming atmosphere of love, respect and kindness. It had the feeling of being in one’s own home. I cannot praise the manager enough. She is an absolute gem and treats the residents and staff with great care and understanding. The same goes for all the staff. What a lovely bunch of friendly, caring and respectful human beings. Sadly my mother passed away recently, and the manager and the staff were there to comfort her 24/7 in her last hours. Their compassion and dignity for others are to be honoured. The Gables have looked after my mother extremely well. There are no words to describe how grateful I am to all at The Gables. The standard of care is excellent with their very pleasant, kind-hearted and professional attitude.
Freedom to behave as one chooses.
The wonderful manager and her staff allowed a widow visit to a very dear friend of mine, who has now sadly passed away. I feel so grateful that I was able to say my goodbyes. They treated him with dignity and respect at all times. The staff are a credit to the manager; they are like 'one big happy family'. During this pandemic, they have not had one case of Covid in the home; they should be very proud of that achievement. I think I'll put my name on the waiting list!
I want to say a big thank you to the manager and all the staff for taking care of my mum. I did a window visit, and the staff were most helpful in making it a very enjoyable visit. Mum was content and happy. The breakfast is served by the chef in their room, who checks they need anything for the day. My phone calls are always answered cheerfully and ready for a chat; the staff have time for a friendly chat.
I could tell from her 1st visit that she would like it here and I was right. Although this was for a weeks respite she was very upset to leave there. They looked after her very well. All the staff had feelings and respect for the residents which really showed. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I can't rate The Gables highly enough you loved one will be well looked after.
We visited 3 homes before we went to The Gables and did not like any of them. As soon as we entered The Gables that was it. It was so friendly and welcoming. We felt so at home. It was clean throughout and the standard of care is excellent. Just lovely staff to look after my husband now he has dementia.
The Gables care home has provided my mother with a safe, stimulating and respectful home after many years of her living alone. The staff always provide a very high standard of support to all residents alike and their experience shines through. My mother appears to be very comfortable at The Gables and I appreciate the care they take. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Gables.
Wonderful staff.
My Mum had end of life care at The Gables. They treated my Mum with dignity and welcomed all the visitors and my Mum had a lot!! For my family, they constantly looked after us and checking we were OK. It felt like being at home rather than a care home. The staff were simply amazing. Thank you.
Care staff always treat my dad with dignity and respect. They make him feel at home and happy. That makes our family happy too. We know he is safe.
My stepmother has been a resident for three years. The staff and management are always very cheerful, friendly and helpful. It is a very welcoming home whenever you visit.
Since my father was admitted into The Gables. I have nothing but praise for all the staff. The care and consideration given to my father is outstanding. My mother, before she died, was in care which I thought was good but The Gables has shown me what true care really means. They are a family with love and compassion for the residents, led by an outstanding manager.
The manager and the staff are all outstanding. They make my father in law feel that he is part of a family and he is very happy there.
