View Full Details of Oak Tree LodgeI have visited the wife of a friend here on a couple of occasions and I am always impressed by the attentiveness of the staff, what is going on in the home and how happy all the residents look. From speaking to my friend, he confirms that his wife is not just cared for, but loved by the staff. The attitude displayed is that this is one big family and that the care doesn't stop at the exit, but that it extends to the families at home as well.
My mum has been a resident at Oak Tree Lodge since October 2022. She was originally placed in a different care home, under the discharge to assess process, but I found it necessary to look for somewhere else for her to live, as she was being neglected and left alone for many hours in the NHS provided home. Oak Tree Lodge was recommended to me by a friend whose mum was a resident. I went for a visit, and met with the manager and her assistant, who were both lovely and welcoming, and very understanding of my situation. Luckily for me and my mum, a place became available not long afterwards, and I was able to move mum there. All the staff are wonderful and attentive, and are able to deal with my mums complex needs. They have lots of activities, that they try to get mum involved with, and they go out of their way to make sure mum has the foods she likes. Although mum isn't always easy, they treat her like she is part of their family, and I no longer have to worry about her care.
My husband is well looked after and the staff are very kind and patient, not only to my husband but also very kind to me. I am very welcome to join them for meals and also I am given lifts home after visiting.
Nan was very well looked after here. She settled in well and loved all the staff. The activities person managed to bring her out of her shell and get involved. She was loved, safe and happy in her final years. And that's all we wanted.
I've been blown away by the care and attention for my neighbour and friend at the care home. Having visited other homes in the past, this one feels more like a family than any other. From the individual care, to the cleanliness and group activities, all the staff and management team seem to genuinely care about each of their residents personally. They take time to know and understand the residents, their likes and dislikes, their family and friends. And the activities which are then organised are so thoughtful to the residents wants and needs. The decision to move into a home is never an easy one but this home is such a safe, warm, welcoming environment and I'm incredibly grateful to the staff and management team.
Visiting a resident. As always, Oak Tree Lodge is a hugely welcoming place. There have been some internal and external decorations since my last visit, which are excellent. The interior, especially, feels like an up-market hotel! The staff were all friendly and smiling, and whilst I was visiting, there was some entertainment being provided, which was also extremely good, with many of the residents singing or nodding along. Everywhere is clear, and there is always someone on hand to answer any queries. Highly recommended.
My mother-in-law is here, and we could not be happier with our choice. The manager and her team ensure that everyone (from what we see) is happy, comfortable and wants for nothing. Christmas was fabulous; we were made so welcome, and the activities they planned were perfect for the people living there. Food is good and plentiful; we can eat with my mother-in-law as and when we would like. We have no concerns at all, but the manager welcomes any comments to help her improve what they do.
I could not be more pleased with the care my father receives at Oak Tree Lodge, Ashurst. The carers, admin staff, activities team, kitchen staff, cleaners and handyman are all extremely friendly approachable people, and nothing is too much trouble for them. They all engage with residents and visitors. The home is a credit to the manager and her staff. The rooms are neat and tidy with ensuites. The home is very clean and tastefully decorated. There is a lovely, bright conservatory for the residents to sit in and enjoy. The garden has been refurbished and looks so nice; there are tables and chairs to encourage the residents to sit outside. My father has settled in so well, and he is happy where he is. He feels safe and well looked after. He especially enjoys his trips to the local shop to get his paper and a visit to the local pub.
My mum is happy and well looked after here. The staff are wonderful, kind and compassionate. The home is beautifully decorated and just like a home, not even a home-from-home! Staff aim to make this like one big family, and they succeed. You can speak to the management team at any time, and they are welcoming and honest. Very open with us. The current management team are so effective and lovely.
Incredibly professional and compassionate during our nan's final days from the start of providing care for her to the end. All staff were exemplary in the way they treated her with dignity. Thank you.
Overall, myself and family are very impressed with the service and attention shown to my nan (or 'nanny'), who spent her last 3-4 months as a resident with Oak Tree Lodge. Anyone who has had a family member with Alzheimer's or Dementia will know how hard life becomes to not only see the rapid deterioration of their character/physical ability, but also the increase and intensity of their care and comfort (both mentally and physically). Oak Tree Lodge and its staff never fell short of good practice and professional, friendly care when it comes to its residents. We always left our visit safe in the knowledge that our nan was not only in a secure home but in the company of its warming staff. Would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need of their services, and remains grateful for all they have done for our family.
A great care home. I am very happy with our choice. The staff are great, and the manager has been very helpful. My step mother really enjoyed her time there and was well cared for. My dad also visited each week and was always welcomed by the friendly staff and really enjoyed the entertainment and food at the Oak Tree. Thank you.
My mother-in-law is so loved and well cared for here. There is nothing that is too much trouble. Living the best years of her life. All staff, and particularly the management team, are amazing. As a family, we are so happy. Loads to do and great activities.
A totally empathetic and caring environment where you can feel safe in the knowledge your loved ones are being cared for and well looked after. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and dedicated to their jobs and looking after with compassion, my father in law and all residents. The activities and organisation of birthday and anniversary celebrations are amazing, thoughtful and wonderfully arranged and catered for. Thank you for everything you all do.
Oak Tree Lodge cared for my mum for three years until she passed away there peacefully in November 2021. The care she received at Oak Tree Lodge was second to none, the manager and the care team were so attentive, knowledgeable and hard working. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them both in regards to Mum and to us, particularly during the very trying times we’ve all endured due to a pandemic. They did their best to accommodate safe visits as soon as they were allowed to do so. When Mum deteriorated and became end of life, the staff ensured she was as comfortable as could be, keeping us informed of all changes and directions given by the GP etc. They were so kind, caring and supportive to us as a family, and the care team knew exactly how to look after Mum in her final days. When Mum passed away, they all knew what they needed to do and did so efficiently and with empathy. They really do have genuine respect and fondness for all of the residents, treating everyone with dignity always.
Since my Dad was moved to Oaktree Lodge in early October, he has gone from strength to strength with the care, entertainment and personal attention he has received. The staff and management go above and beyond to look after my Dad as if he were there own Dad. I cannot thank them enough for what they have done for my Dad, would highly recommend.
Since my husband came into Oak Tree Lodge I have been so happy with everything at the home. They are amazing and I couldn’t wish for my husband to be in a better place. They are so attentive and keep me informed of any issues that may occur. I cannot wait until I am able to visit and join in everything that happens and be part of the home.
I cannot begin to express what a wonderful care home Oak Tree Lodge Care Home is. They have cares for my Father as if he was their own parent and considered his needs far beyond what I would even hope for. The entire team feel like one big family and I could not be happier with the treatment and care he receives. Wish I could give them all a big hug and say thank you.
I cannot recommend Oak Tree Lodge Care Home highly enough, the management and staff are exceptional and treat my Dad as if he were their own Dad, which is exactly what you want from a care home. They go above and beyond to make everyday personal to him and have even gone to some extraordinary lengths to decorate Dads room with everything he loves. They also make us feel like we are part of the family, are so accessible and keep us extremely well informed of every aspect of his care. I can certainly rest at night knowing how well cared for my Dad is and couldn’t be happier with every aspect of care they provide.
My Sister, Brother and I would like to say how caring, kind and thoughtful the staff were to our Mum who came to Oak Tree Lodge in July 2020. Mum sadly passed away in October but you made her final days as comfortable as was possible in the circumstances with Covid and with all the visiting restrictions. We can see how everyone is so dedicated to looking after and giving and going beyond what is needed. I would therefore like to thank all the staff for their kindness and support at what is a very sad and difficult time. Thank you.
