View Full Details of New Milton HouseI found the staff very caring there is the opportunity for quiet in two separate rooms with comfortable furniture away from the main lounge. I felt there was a family atmosphere unusual in some care homes. A varied menu which I mostly enjoyed, some delay serving sometimes resulting in tepid food and complaints which were listened to. Although I am glad to have returned home I would use the home again.
New Milton House is an excellent care facility. They do everything possible for my elderly father and treat him so well. He is safe and has company and excellent personal care. The food, the activities and the staff are first rate. We are truly blessed. Thank you with all my heart.
Due to building works having to be carried out in our house, my elderly mother had to be placed into respite care whilst the builders were re-installing her wet room. What started out as an intended 2 weeks stay ended up being 6 weeks due to delays with the works. Quaker House has always been our first choice if my mother needed care and we are not disappointed. All the staff are caring, kind, patient and ensured my mother had everything she needed. From the management to the team of carers, not to mention the events team and the kitchen staff, everyone gives their utmost to ensure the needs of the residents are met. The facilities are excellent - not just one large room where residents sit but there is a sunny conservatory to enjoy, a jigsaw room and a craft room - which makes for a varied environment. The accommodation is very pleasant and Quaker House has very high standards of hygiene. Quaker House provides a happy and safe place for residents - congratulations.
After a five-week stay in hospital, I came to New Forest Quaker Care Home, first for respite care and am delighted to feel very much better able to manage looking after myself when I return home. The staff are very kind and patient. They seem to enjoy working with us 'oldies'! I have known about Quaker House since its planning stages so it was good to become a temporary resident.
Several people welcomed Mum back here. We were all offered a cup of tea as we unpacked. After her stay we had a card to say it was nice to see her once again. Little touches but very thoughtful.
A very well-run care home by a dedicated and caring staff. Very high standards of care and hygiene. Residents' needs met in a caring manner. Facilities and entertainment of a very high standard, with numerous rooms to relax and have family time.
Following my hip replacement operation, I knew I would need respite care, so I checked several care homes in my area and was most impressed with New Forest Quaker Care Home, so I booked a room for the second day following my operation. I was delighted with the accommodation provided and very satisfied with the care care and service given by the staff. The food was excellent and was served in your room or in the dining area. I stayed for four weeks and would recommend this care home to anyone in need.
My friend stayed at Quaker House for four weeks, following hip surgery. The home was very attentive and she made a good recovery, returning to her home to continue life as before. Thank you.
Staff are very pleasant, welcoming and helpful. When I went to look around the home, I spoke to one of two of the residents, and they were very friendly and answered my questions about the home. I liked that because I had seen residents and other homes I visited, but there did not seem to be much in the way of mixing and conversations and felt my mum needed companionship and people to mix with, and other homes did not offer this. I will be honest and say that people are surprised when I tell them where she is, as it is the "Quaker" bit that seems to put people off!
My uncle went to New Forest Quaker Care Home initially for some respite care. It soon transpired that he would be unable to return to independent living. I want to commend all the staff for making this transition so easy. Their gentle approach made it very easy for my uncle to cope with the change. The staff are always friendly, helpful and offer a home away from home feeling which was vitally important for me. I was so relieved to know that he was in the best possible place. Towards the end of his life as his health deteriorated the staff were so kind and caring. I cannot recommend this care home enough. Sincere thanks to all the staff.
The Quaker home in New Milton, looked after my neighbour in a caring professional way. He enjoyed the food, especially the desserts and cakes in the afternoon! He had a lovely room overlooking the garden and he loved looking at the fish in the pond swimming about. There was never anything the manager would not do to help and comfort him. A comfortable and safe place to be.
My wife died recently and I have prostate cancer. So I am finding life difficult at the moment. The District Nurse said I was not looking after myself since her death. She suggested going to New Forest Quaker Care Home for respite care. I am glad I took her advice. Everything about the home is excellent. I cannot find anything to fault. The staff are caring and supportive. The food is excellent with a choice of meals on the menu for lunch and supper. There are regular GP visits every week. The District Nurses come to the home whenever needed. Everything is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness. It is a happy jolly place for your care. It is a place to feel safe in. Overall it is good value for money and I would recommend the New Forest Quaker Care Home (which is a charity) to friends and family if they needed similar care. I am going home soon feeling better able to cope with life after the loss of my wife, and I will be doing voluntary work here.
After my Nan had lived here a few years ago and everyone being very happy with how she was cared for it was an obvious choice for my father-in-law. Unfortunately the way the home is run now is very bad in comparison. His medication was never updated as we asked for from the start and we don't think he was ever encouraged to shower whilst there. We have now moved my father-in-law after he was asked to leave, due to his dementia, which he had when he moved in. Seeing the new home we can see the improvement within 2 weeks. Speaking to people in the industry whilst finding a new home it is well known that Quaker House is now very badly run and should be avoided.
My mother spent her final 5 months at Quaker Care Home. After her arrival, she settled in quickly and felt safe. The family could see that she was very well cared for. The home is comfortable, bright and always clean. Although Mum chose to spend much of her time in her room, she loved her view of the garden. The staff were kind and friendly to my mother and the family. Visits were easy to arrange and it was good to see Mum feeling relaxed and cheerful. The family were always kept up to date with any changes in Mum's health. We are grateful for the time she spent there.
I've never seen my Mum look so well, happy and content since coming to Quaker House. The staff are genuinely caring - not just for residents but for family too. We all feel welcome and know Mum is safe, cared for and in trusted hands. The other residents are all friendly and there are lovely warm friendship groups across the home. Thank you Quaker House for giving us our Mum back.
The New Forest Quaker Care Home is an extremely comfortable, caring home. The common rooms (lounges and dining room) are beautifully furnished and overlook a very attractive well-maintained garden. The bedrooms are well-appointed with an en suite bathroom. There are facilities for residents to have some of their own furniture in their bedroom. All the rooms are kept very clean and bright. Above all the staff are kind, friendly and responsive to residents' needs. A number of activities are organised for those who wish to take part.
The home is friendly, light, airy and clean. The staff are always happy to help and provide care whenever necessary. The range of activities on offer and facilities the home has are excellent. The menus and quality of food is very good too.
My mother has been coming to Quaker Care Home for respite a few times a year for the last 3 years. Now is the time for a permanent place and I could not think of her going anywhere else. The staff and residents are all so welcoming, it is like home from home for her.
My mother was very well cared for, and I felt very happy that she was in a safe environment and looked after.
Quaker Care Home exceeded our expectations. Our mother was resisting leaving her home, but we gradually introduced her to be cared for, by respite care to begin with. The staff are very good indeed, nothing is too much trouble and you were made very welcome to talk with the leading staff if you had any queries. The home is more on the side of the client's welfare than having a splendid interior, no offence meant! Our mother gradually settled in, and although she did not partake, there was a lot going if she wanted to join in. Her room was made very comfortable with some of her own possessions. All in all, we would thoroughly recommend this care home, for its warmth and understanding of old people, its safe environment and friendly atmosphere.
