View Full Details of Ridgemede House Residential CareMy husband has been in the care of Ridgemede House Residential Care for the past 16 months, he has been cared for by a loving team of wonderful people. At no time was he unhappy. Always clean and well looked after, in fact the care at Ridgemede is outstanding. I and my family are most grateful to them all for the care he had until he died last week.
Kindness oozes from every member of staff. Gentle, warmth, smiles and nurturing second to none. Thank you for knowing my much loved "big brother" (my friend since I was 15 years old) is cared for in this incredible environment. There's nowhere to compare Ridgemede House Residential Care, we never stop singing your praises. Thank you, every one of you.
I can not thank the care staff enough and will highlight a couple. To the young lady - you have such a wonderful way about you and we cannot thank you enough - a real trooper who makes my Dad laugh and smile. To the legend who cycles to work every day and has been simply brilliant and is always so kind, cheerful and helpful to us as a family. Our Dad simply adores and trusts this true legend of a man and we consider him one of our family.
My mother was end of life in May 2023 and received the best quality care, delivered with incredible patience, kindness and care. Our family were well supported in Mum's last days and every request was met with consideration and respect. We are so grateful that Mum was cared for at Ridgemede over the last years of her life in such a caring and wonderful environment.
Moving into Residential care was a major decision for my mum and us, as her carers, as her physical mobility declined and she required additional support and help to keep safe from falling. However, living at Ridgemede has proved to be positive for her. Mum loves living at Ridgemede, is well cared for by the lovely care team, likes seeing the various members of staff and enjoys the meals. On entering the house there is a positive atmosphere which the staff appear to work hard to maintain and this is reflected in the individual interactions with Mum. Whenever a member of staff comes to see Mum, they always knock prior to entering her room and are always polite and helpful, respecting privacy and individual choice. Mum looks forward to having a bath which she was not able to have prior to moving in and is pleased to be able to see the hairdresser on a regular basis. We are very happy that Mum is being well cared for at Ridgemede.
My mother was here for a few years until her passing and I have to say I felt she was very well looked after and always seemed happy when we visited. The care home is a nice environment which is probably for the more traditional person, not many frills but genuine caring staff and a place where they looked after her needs impeccably. Meals seemed a bit ordinary but then as you get on in years, I guess that's what you eat? We fully trusted Ridgemede to look after Mum and they did a great job, they dealt with her dementia sympathetically and nursed her in her final year when she was very frail. The staff here are lovely and always encouraged Mum to participate in activities and made her stay here happy.
My mother is being well looked after by kind friendly staff. The meals are delicious and plenty. She has a large warm comfortable room with a comfy arm chair on the first floor, with a good view of the south garden area and large fish pond. Her personal hygiene is taken care of. Above all she speaks highly of the staff who care for her.
My mother has stayed at Ridgemede on several occasions over the years and has always enjoyed her stay there. We have always been happy with the way that she has been treated, and the staff have always gone out of their way to ensure that she is treated well.
I have been a resident here at Ridgemede House Residential Care since March and although I am poorly, I have found a perfect haven. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff no matter how busy they are. Food is homecooked and all requests are accepted and laundry is returned the next day ready to wear. On a lovely day, we can walk and sit in the gardens, catch the sun, watch the fish in the pond or just talk to a neighbour, visitor or friend. Come and join us, it is great here with wonderful staff, care and surroundings.
Ridgemede House Residential Care is situated in the quiet, rural, market town of Bishops Waltham, Hampshire. A lovely building with lovely grounds. Management and staff are extremely friendly. I visit the home six days each week and always greeted with a smile and "How are you". Residents are well looked after by the staff and their needs are met. Meals are well-presented and served at the appropriate times. I have no regret placing my wife at Ridgemede. Thanks to all the staff for their efforts.
We moved my aunt from Essex to Ridgemede three months ago and it was the best decision that we could have made. She has Alzheimer's and was not managing living alone, even with carer visits. Since moving to Ridgemede she has thrived with the care, support and stimulation that is provided by the amazing and caring team. She eats well, is no longer lonely and is cared for splendidly. As a family we can see a huge improvement in her well-being. It was hard for her to move and settle initially, but she is really feeling more at home day by day. The home is just wonderful and I cannot praise the staff highly enough. Nothing is too much trouble and it is just so reassuring to know that she is safe. The gardens and surroundings are beautiful and we enjoy nothing more than a cuppa in the garden and a visit to the fishpond!
The staff are always helpful and kind, they will try to do anything to help with my mother.
I have only visited the outside of the care home, due to restrictions concerning Covid-19, so do not have a full opinion of the home as a whole. Judging by the few contacts with the staff I have had, whether by telephone or face-to-face, I can say that I found the carers very friendly, helpful, patient and informative. When visiting my mother, I had the opportunity to talk to some of the carers about her well-being and they were very reassuring. On the telephone, they have been equally informative and patient, answering questions about my mother. Judging by all the stringent measures put in place to keep the residents safe from Covid-19, I feel the home has done its utmost to do this and congratulate all staff for their efforts. I am not able to fully evaluate the standards of the home as I have not been inside, but I feel perfectly confident that my mother is in good hands.
The staff truly care and engage with the residents and creates a strong sense of family and safety. Throughout the Covid pandemic, the communication with me over visiting arrangements has always been very clear, following guidelines and putting the well being of the residents and staff at the centre of all decision making.
We are generally very pleased with the care and support my mother-in-law receives at Ridgemede. She says the food is good and we know that the carers are excellent with her. We appreciate her being encouraged to take part in activities, which she seems to enjoy.
My mother is a long term resident of Ridgemede Care Home, who has very complex needs. Despite the obvious distress to residents, staff and relatives during the past unprecedented year, I cannot thank the management and staff of Ridgemede enough for keeping everyone safe. The resilience of the staff is amazing and the current team are exemplary in their commitment, care and cheerfulness - thank you all so very much.
My mother suffers from Dementia and has been a resident at Ridgemede for over three years. During that time she has experienced nothing but care and affection, delivered by a team who are consistently conscientious, friendly and attentive to my mother's particular needs. It was very reassuring that after a brief spell in hospital at the end of last year, my mother's GP telephoned me after having visited her on her return to Ridgemede with an update on her recovery. He was extremely complimentary about Ridgemede's reputation as a caring home, and in his opinion, their willingness to do that little bit more to ensure the comfort and happiness of their residents. Needless to say, the advocacy from a health professional is immensely reassuring and confirmation that my mother is getting the best of care.
My mother has been a resident for over 3 years. Like many children with ailing parents, we were a bit uncertain about committing her to care with anyone but any fears we may have had were rapidly put to rest. Mum settled in very quickly all things considered, which both surprised and pleased us all. What struck me most about the home was the extremely high standard of care and affection the staff demonstrate to all of their residents. I cannot emphasise how important this is to someone as tactile and affection as my mum. The staff are in many ways an extension of her own family and that has been particularly important during recent Covid-19 related lock-down. The facilities are good or better but for me, that is the least important part of the support offered the residents, what moves me and what I applaud is the love and affection constantly demonstrated by everyone there. Thank you team.
The home is clean and warm and has the feel of a family home. The atmosphere is relaxed and not clinical. The staff are calm, very helpful and relaxed. The turnover of staff must be low because I see the same faces regularly. My father's room is spacious and airy. The food and drink are of good quality. My father is blind and probably requires more help with cutting up food etc than he currently gets. I have mentioned this to the manager and staff. I feel he is content and secure in the home. When he visits my house, he often asks to go back to his home - Ridgemede.
Ridgemede is not a Care Home, it is a CARING home, home from home, with a wonderful loving atmosphere. Residents are well-nourished and encouraged to participate in daily activities to keep their minds and bodies young. Thanks to Ridgemede mum's final 2+ years of life were extremely happy, in fact, it gave her back her zest for life. I can honestly say, at all times, the staff treated my mum like their own mum, nothing was ever too much trouble. I am indebted to the manager and her team for such devotion and dedication.
