View Full Details of Rotherbank Residential Care HomeExcellent care home, staff are extremely welcoming and really interact with the residents. Always clean and tidy in all areas. Very dog friendly.
Rotherbank is a small family run care home. All of the staff are friendly, kind and caring to my mum and all of the residents. They don't use agency staff so all staff know the residents well. Activities are arranged regularly with frequent visitors to the home to entertain the residents. Staff take the residents out to local garden centres and cafes which appear to be popular. The home is clean and well maintained. Their medical needs are met promptly. Mum has settled in well and enjoys the company of both the other residents and the staff.
Excellent care overall. Wish they had a proper lift - not a chair lift. Wish they didn't have TV on all day in lounge. There are two lounges - why not have a quiet lounge?
Rotherbank Care Home is an outstanding service provider and I cannot say enough about the care they provide to my mum. It is a small, family-run establishment, where every resident is known as an individual. Mum’s preferences and habits are known and accommodated and, wherever possible, her needs and requests are met speedily. The whole team knows Mum well and they have fun going about their daily routines. Moreover, the management makes efforts to understand individual circumstances and get to know Mum, and us, her family, well. We are very lucky to have Rotherbank in our village.
Rotherbank Residential Care Home management team seem constantly looking at ways they can either improve their facilities or the comfort of their residents. The first time I visited, I knew it was the right place for my 94-year-old mother who has dementia. It's clear, not too big and not impersonal or institutional, like others, and has a feel of home from home. Staff are friendly and well-trained and most have been there for years. They make adjustments to accommodate my mother's needs and keep me informed of any changes. My mother has settled and is happy and content.
Rotherbank Residential Care Home is a lovely, small, 'homely' care home. They provide a light, bright environment which has seen some super improvements over the last few months. The staff are competent and well-trained and a great bunch of friendly people. I am confident that my bedridden aunt receives the best of care and would highly recommend them.
My mother has been a resident at Rotherbank for 18 months and has settled in well. This is due to the excellent staff at the home. The staff are caring, attentive and extremely friendly. I know that my mother is living in a safe environment, which gives me peace of mind.
I just can’t speak highly enough about the care that my Mum has received from the team at Rotherbank Residential Care Home. My Mum was admitted from hospital, at short notice and in just a couple of days her room was completely ready for her to move into with her own furniture and pictures beautifully arranged. Rotherbank is family owned and run and that really shows in the care. The staff all seem to have worked at Rotherbank for years and years. They are without exception excellent communicators and treat each resident with the greatest of respect. My Mum says that without exception all the staff have been really kind and that the food is very good. The home is bright and cheerful and during meal times the residents are encouraged to eat together in the dining room. They have activities in the afternoons and the atmosphere of the home is relaxed and homely. It’s a really difficult time and I feel extremely fortunate to have found such a lovely home for my Mum.
In the 5 and a half years that my sister was at Rotherbank Care Home, she was looked after in every way possible. Their communication was excellent and in the days in January when she was no longer eating and was deteriorating they kept me in the picture. As I am dependent upon my son being able to drive me the 100 miles to see her ( I am 86 myself) he booked a day off work on Wednesday 25th January for me and my daughter to visit her and I checked with the home in the afternoon who said she was comfortable. In the event she died at 11.15 pm that evening and Rotherbank called me at 11.45 pm to say that she had passed peacefully away. I always found the home to be excellent in every way.
We have nothing but praise for Rotherbank which was recommended by a friend. We were very fortunate to find them when we urgently needed respite care for Mum. Unfortunately, Mum's condition deteriorated and Rotherbank became her permanent home about 4 years ago. The staff are all local people and have remained practically unchanged over this time. They are without exception professional, caring, cheerful and welcoming. They provide consistent care and understand Mum's changing needs. They have also offered support to us as a family, always taking time to listen to any concerns. They are constantly updating and improving facilities, introducing new activities and arranging entertainment. It's taken a great weight off my mind knowing that Mum is so well cared for.
Rotherbank has provided a high level of care for my mother over the last 2 years. She arrived amid lockdown and it had been left to trust that she is being treated well. We have no need to worry, and it is a very safe and happy place for my mother to live.
This is an excellent care home with lovely staff, they have treated my mum with kindness and compassion. I am very reassured that she is well looked after and happy and also is in a safe environment. Thank you all so very much.
My mum moved to Rotherbank because her nursing home was closing down. I am a registered nurse and in many years I have not seen such excellent care but also excellent management. My mum was nearly 102 years old. She passed away one day. Two carers were with her (I couldn't get there in time); one was reading to her and the other was doing a manicure. She was very comfortable, awake and looking out of the window. She just closed her eyes and went straight to be with Jesus.
Rotherbank is a "gem" - the words our family use to describe this family-run home, warm and friendly, caring environment for its residents. The staff are so friendly to us when we visit, and nothing too much effort. Cleanliness second to none. We give this home full marks.
All the staff at Rotherbank have been professional and friendly at all times and we have had full confidence that my aunt is receiving the best care possible, especially throughout the pandemic and as we all live some distance from the home so visiting is difficult. We have been kept fully informed of all her needs, whether medical or otherwise. The Manager has always responded quickly to any concerns, as have all staff. My aunt has been healthy and happy throughout her time at Rotherbank
Our mother has been in Rotherbank for about seven years now. We have always been impressed with the care she has received. We know most of the staff well and there is very little turn round of carers...always a good sign of a well managed home! The staff truly do care for the residents and will always celebrate birthdays and important dates. In the summer they have outdoor parties to which we are all invited! James the senior manager is great, with a good sense of humour which is a must in the dementia care sector. There is a good atmosphere in the home and it's not overcrowded. All in all, we are very pleased we chose Rotherbank!
Rotherbank continues to provide excellent care for mother who has been in residence for three years now. The staff are all always friendly and helpful. Communication with us is very good. Throughout the past two difficult years, they have kept the home Covid free by strictly adhering to the house rules.
My father has been a resident since November 2021, so our experience of Rotherbank Care Home thus far is under strict Covid-19 measures. The home is clean and bright with a welcoming family atmosphere and attentive, professional staff. My father is very well cared for in a safe, supportive and friendly environment, and we have been delighted to see a positive improvement in his mental health and wellbeing as he adjusts to his new home and receives the type of care that he now needs. Equally as important is the peace of mind this gives my mother, who had previously been his primary carer. Making the decision to move my father into care was difficult, even though we knew it was right for both him and my mother. Choosing Rotherbank Care Home was definitely the right decision.
Since my mother has been with Rotherbank Residential Care Home she is very happy and extremely well look after. The staff are all very friendly and caring. My brothers and I are really grateful for all of the hard work and care Mum is getting at Rotherbank Residential Care Home.
Pre Covid when I could visit freely, it was nice to sit and chat and I was always impressed with the rapport staff have with residents, I always felt warmly welcomed. I like that there are no agency staff and very little turnover so everyone knew Mum well. There was never any feeling of regimentation at Rotherbank, if Mum didn’t feel like breakfast early, she could have something later. If lunch didn’t appeal there was always an alternative and the staff soon learn individual likes and dislikes. When Covid hit it was a huge relief to be confident that Mum was receiving such great care when I was unable to visit. Sadly, during the pandemic, entertainment options were dramatically reduced, but Mum really enjoyed the Christmas show the previous year and there was always something going on be it hatching chicks or a singsong! I am so grateful that we found Rotherbank for Mum and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone whose relative requires residential care.
