Wonderful home, from the moment we first visted we felt it was the right place for my mum. Nothing is too much trouble, the staff are friednly, caring, happy and engaging. I would not hesitate to recommend Shedfield Lodge to others.
My mother, who is 86 and has dementia, went into Shedfield Lodge for respite care. The thoughtful and professional care that she received was truly amazing and well beyond any reasonable expectations. From the management who is responsible for creating the overall atmosphere to every member of staff responsible for implementing the aims of the care home, everybody was always kind and considerate, helpful and caring. I could not ask for a better experience for my mother.
My mother came to Shedfield Lodge for a respite period. The care she received was second to none. The staff were amazing in coping with her complex needs and made her feel welcome and at home. She very much enjoyed her stay in particular mixing with other residents and taking part in the various activities. I highly recommend the Lodge and all their services.
After a week in respite, the care my grandmother received was second to none. She was extremely well looked after. The rooms and surroundings are beautifully kept. Staff and facilities are excellent. Highly recommend.
MY 94-year-old Sister entered Shedfield Lodge in January 2024. She was suffering from dementia, was post-operative, and had recently recovered from pneumonia. She now has some mobility issues. She is well cared for and likes the staff. She has improved both mentally and physically. The style of management creates a warm and friendly atmosphere and GP support is first-class. I feel welcome when I visit and am kept informed of my sisters well being.
This home is excellent the staff are caring thoughtful and well trained. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Although the sitting room looks crowded the use of the garden areas mitigates this. The staff are excellent at communicating with us and respond instantly to any requests. Rooms are spotless and they take great care of the resident's clothes and possessions. They were very kind and supportive of the resident's husband when he visited and if this was at a meal time always gave him lunch.
Fantastic care home with lovely staff that can't do enough to help. Residents are excellently cared for by a large team of dedicated and personable staff. Everywhere is extremely clean and secure, and communication is excellent.
My grandad was here for a long time and everyone took such great care of him. He was very happy and settled during his time at Shedfield Lodge and can’t think of anywhere else he could possibly have been happier.
A lovely home with caring and attentive staff who took care of my family member excellently during her time there. Amazing grounds out in the countryside and excellent one-on-one activities which are person-centred to everyone’s needs - as well as regular live music which my family member absolutely loved!
My Auntie was at Shedfield Lodge for a few years and was well looked after. The staff were very kind and considerate and it felt like home. The meal choice was very good and the activities were varied around her and the family was always accommodated when visiting.
Friendly, helpful and caring staff who clearly have a focus on the needs of all residents as individuals. Shedfield Lodge is clean and nicely decorated. Dad settled in quickly and enjoys being here. I can recommend it wholeheartedly.
Overall, I am very happy with the care that Shedfield Lodge Care Home has provided Mum. She is content and happy in the home and genuinely cared for. There are some really great members of staff there who go the extra mile to look out for Mum. When there have been issues, such as mix-ups with clothing, Shedfield has been receptive to these issues being raised.
Kind, caring staff, creating a peaceful atmosphere inside the care home with a lovely country setting outside. I am kept informed of health issues and feel very welcome when visiting.
When I visit my grandmother, the staff are very welcoming. They ask whereabouts we would like to sit for our visit (myself and my grandmother mostly choose to sit in the lovely garden/summer house); the staff come out regularly to see if there's anything we would like or need. The staff are very attentive. My grandmother is very happy living at Shedfield Lodge, and she is forever singing their praises for everything they do.
Accepting my mother had dementia was very hard, but admitting that I could no longer give her the care she needed made me feel I was failing her. The team at Sheffield Lodge were so supportive throughout and has continued to be. My mum has friends again, enjoys activities again and laughs again. I feel blessed. I have my mum back, along with a whole new family. For that, I will forever be grateful. Thank you.
Every time I visit this home, you can feel the friendly atmosphere. All care staff are very caring with a sense of humour, which in my mind is a must. Highly recommended by me. The whole atmosphere is family orientated.
Shedfield Lodge is a welcoming and caring home with a good family feel and friendly atmosphere, set in a delightfully rural area. Only recently, my mum (who has Alzheimer's) remarked to me: "aren't we lucky to live in the countryside"; this was shortly after she'd been moved to a room with a beautiful view across the fields. This means a lot to me as Mum is not independently mobile, and it is lovely to know that she can appreciate such lovely scenery from the comfort of her chair. The staff work hard to make family visits as enjoyable as possible, given the Government-imposed constraints under which they have been operating. Management is always responsive to any concerns and does its best to resolve them in a timely manner.
All the staff are very caring both to the residents and their families. They work very hard to make the residents happy. When I have visited all the residents appear happy and cared for. It is a very friendly Home.
My mother has been at Shedfield Lodge for 4 years now. Shedfield Lodge has very much been part of my mother's dementia journey, supporting her every need along with reassuring family members as well. They genuinely care for my mother as if she is part of their family and my mother always seems happy there and well cared for. The staff and management are always friendly with excellent communication skills with any health, care plan and medication updates. I can highly recommend this care home. We are so lucky that we found such a fantastic care home for my mother.
