View Full Details of Sundial Cottage Rest Home LtdThere is always plenty of staff on duty, and they are all so very kind and caring and always listen to her when she is having a tearful moment. Mum always looks clean and well-dressed - her clothes and nightwear are washed daily. She is well-fed, and the meals are lovely. They have a lot of activities, and Mum has started to sing again, which is great. Sundial Cottage is always clean and well-maintained. My family and I are so pleased Mum was able to stay; she has a lovely room where she can feed the birds and has squirrels that love the nuts too.
What an amazing month of activities for the residents, from starting a new gardening club, walking out in the sunshine, driving to the forest and beach to an attending entertainer, not forgetting, the celebrating of several birthdays and St Patrick's day with Irish music and dance. This home treats all the residents with dignity and helps support their well-being by engaging them in what they would like to do and helping them achieve it.
Always very helpful and very professional with the care of the resident. The management keeps me informed of the well-being of my relative and any change of medication when required. The care home always respects my views too.
My mother spent a week at Sundial on her first visit to a care home. We were both apprehensive as I had been living with her for a year, and the experience of even trying to find a home had been a challenge. However, once I had made contact with Sundial, everything became clear that we had found somewhere where she could be happy as I had lots of help and information from the staff that I had contact with. She had a really good week and would like to return in the future if necessary, which is a great recommendation from her. I had good contact with the home during her stay as not being able to view the home due to Covid there has to be a lot of trust that all will be well. They were all very kind to both of us, and we are both very happy with the home, management and staff.
I would highly recommend Sundial Cottage care home. Although my dealings with them were comparatively brief, the standard of care was excellent. At all times, I was kept informed of the welfare of my husband, and the staff also enquired about my well-being. The kindness and support proffered were exceptional. Huge thanks to everyone involved during what was a difficult situation. You made it so much easier to endure, and I am eternally grateful.
From the day my mum went into the Sundial Cottage Rest Home, I could see a change for the good in her. She was at the lowest point in her life, having just lost her 2nd son. She had given up on life. The staff and other residents gave her a reason to live. She flourished in their care and made some wonderful new friends. She had a purpose in life now, and slowly her sense of humour came back to her. Even in the difficult circumstances with Covid, the rest home still carried on as near normal as possible. The staff are amazing and have a real passion for their job. I would not hesitate in recommending this home to people. I can not fault them in any way. There are not enough words to thank them for the care that they gave to Mum. A* home with A* staff. Keep up the fantastic work you all do. Thank you.
Mum who has Alzheimer's was a daycare client for 3 years at Sundial Cottage where she was looked after very well. She was happy and we know she was safe. Since December 2019 following fracturing her pelvis, she has been a resident. I would have no hesitation in recommending Sundial Cottage. Mum is settled and happy in comfortable surroundings with kind and dedicated staff to look after all her needs. She enjoys the food, all the activities and the company and knows she is safe and secure.
My husband has been here for nearly three years. The staff here are kind, caring and really know their jobs. My husband has been up and down and the staff know how to treat him on his off days. I'm kept informed of any changes in him and you couldn't wish for a better home for him. I know he is in the best hands that I could wish for as it's hard work caring for residents and their needs. They are dedicated staff and you couldn't wish for better ones - they just do not stop and are always on the go and deal with whatever situation comes along. Lovely caring staff.
I am very happy with the care my mum receives. She is happy where she is and that is very important. She is well looked after and cared for.
I have always found this facility to be welcoming and caring. I pay random visits and without prior notification, but always have been impressed with the warm and pleasant atmosphere.
Top notch.
I think the staff are very good. The food is very nice and the rooms are excellent. The place is homely.
My wife's sister was at Sundial Cottage care home for the date shown above. Unfortunately, due to additional health problems, she had to return to hospital until 11th October 2018. She now needs nursing care and is in a nursing home. Her stay at Sundial Cottage was short, but during that time she was looked after very well, enjoyed her food and although she was unable to stand or walk, she was dressed properly and well looked after by the care home staff. We were also advised we could visit at any time, no prior warning needed. This gave us a lot of confidence in the care given.
I feel my mum is really well cared for and the staff work really hard.
The staff are friendly and approachable, they treat the residents with courtesy and dignity. Whenever I telephone to speak to Dad they help him with the phone, putting it to loudspeaker as he can't manage otherwise. Staff keep me informed of how Dad is and answer my questions in a helpful and compassionate manner.
As my mother is quite young to be in a care home and it is the worst decision to make but the friendly staff and homely feel of Sundial Cottage made it much easier. It's good to know that mum is receiving a much better standard of care and is safe from harm much more so than the family can provide for her. She seems happier in herself.
Very happy with service provision. Dad feels comfortable and safe and I feel that he is safe I am kept informed of his condition and I have confidence in the staff to manage his needs in a competent caring manner. His dignity is maintained at all times and his wishes are respected.
Sundial Cottage is a delightful home where dementia is treated in the kindest way. The staff are well trained and clearly enjoy their work. This is a testament to the owners who have made Sundial a calm and pleasant place to live.
My mother has already spent a year in another local rest home that I thought was good until she moved to this residential home a month ago, which is even better. The highest standards of care and comfort are provided here, by staff who are professional and highly qualified. Activities are regular, meaningful and most enjoyable. Family visits are encouraged and welcomed. The hospitality towards loves ones (visiting family members) is commendable. Management is visibly interactive with staff and residents and always accessible. This residents home is clearly outstanding.
Friendly atmosphere very homely, home from home. Excellent care. Always spotless, so pleased my mother placed here.
