View Full Details of Fleet Hall Care Home - Avery CollectionHaving dismissed two previous care homes my daughter and myself arrived at Fleet Hall and were immediately taken by the feeling of space and general layout of the ground floor. However, as lovely as the building is this was not the important aspect that we were looking for. As we were shown round the building, we both watched carefully how the staff interacted with the residents. This was all that we hoped for. All of the staff interacted with the residents with care, friendliness and affection. It was very difficult for me to recognise that the time had come for me to put my wife in a care home and this must have been obvious to the staff who showed us around. They were so understanding and showed me the same care and attention that they have continued to show my wife. Whilst it has been hard for me, I know that I have left my wife in the hands of the best people possible. I can now relax for the first time in years knowing she will be looked after and cared for. Thank you.
My mother has been in Fleet Hall since May 2022 and is completely settled. She has always been reticent to meet new people due to her autism but with the constant attention and having a small group on the Jubilee floor, she feels comfortable with the other residents. She is always undertaking some new craft project, helping with gardening when the weather is nice and enjoying trips out. The change in her wellbeing and physical health is quite remarkable and she often mentions the kindness, patience and caring nature of the staff when talking to me.
As a regular volunteer at Fleet Hall, I have spent plenty of time talking to residents and I must say that I have rarely ever heard any of them complain about the quality of service at Fleet Hall. They speak highly of the carers, activities staff and concierge team and appear to really enjoy the events on offer. I have noticed that the different departments, particularly the carers are often understaffed but are always working hard to provide the best quality of care. The staff and residents are all lovely and the care home has an amazing warm atmosphere about it.
My mother moved into Fleet Hall in December 2024. She had previously been visiting the home on a weekly basis to join in activities and this made the move much easier as she had got to know a lot of the staff and was able to pick and reserve a lovely room. Myself and other members of the family and friends are always given a lovely welcome when we visit.
We are very pleased to know that our mother is comfortable and well cared for at Fleet Hall, especially on Jubilee Floor. As a family, we believe good care is central to her well being and we are delighted that she is receiving plenty of this. Please would you pass on our thanks to all members of staff for their care and kindness, not only to our mother but to all family members when we visit. We feel very welcome and it is lovely to see such a happy team who obviously enjoy their work and the care they show to all residents no matter what time of day.
Since my father has been at Fleet Hall there has been marked improvement of his overall health. He is a lot happier. All the staff at Fleet Hall have always made me feel welcome. I would like to say thank you to all the staff.
Our experience of visiting, electronic communication and interacting with the residents and staff at Fleet Hall - Avery care home in our consideration of it for mum has been an absolute delight. The staff are professional, warm and available at all times. They completed their assessment of mum extremely quickly and have guided us through the practicalities of funding, moving her in and, now that mum is a resident, are keeping us informed of her interaction with other residents, staff and the activities. I highly recommend this care home to anyone who is considering a residential care home for their loved one. We are thrilled to have found a place where mum will be cared for comprehensively for the rest of her life, where there is ample support for the shifting realities that vascular dementia presents. Thank you Fleet Hall - Avery!
I come to the home on a regular basis as a volunteer. I chat quite candidly with the residents and they often tell me their concerns, so I do know that it is not perfect. In general the care staff are all friendly, kind and overworked. The entertainment staff are very caring and a joy to know, they are so inventive with the things they do for the residents. In my time there I have noticed cuts and changes, which are the obvious signs of it being a business. The residents seem happy on the whole and the home is clean and tidy and their rooms are nice.
On entering the home it is obvious that Fleet Hall is very upmarket with its chandelier and grand piano in the entrance The reception area was manned by a friendly well presented lady. We were shown the room that was to be ' home' for the next couple of weeks. We knew that it would be a shared bathroom and that wasn't entirely successful, my cousin didn't have a shower for the full two weeks we only found that out the day before she was leaving. One thing she was not too keen on was that there was only a call button in the rooms and no panic button on a lanyard. All the staff were very friendly and attentive and there were many of them. On the whole the experience was worthwhile and enjoyable.
The staff at Fleet Hall were great in helping to move dad out of hospital and into Fleet Hall. They communicated well with family members so everyone was kept up to date and involved in the whole process. This took away any anxiety and dad had a smooth transition into Fleet Hall. All the staff have been friendly, helpful and caring. After 4 weeks of hospital gowns and lying in bed it has been wonderful to see him shaved, dressed, sitting in a wheelchair and starting to engage in life again. Dad enjoys the meals so is eating well and will hopefully regain the weight he's lost. But best of all Fleet Hall have managed to work it so dad is back with his wife of 65 years and they can continue to grow old together. Thank you.
I moved into Fleet Hall just before Christmas 2024, having spent time popping in for some activities and lunches. I was made to feel so welcome that the move to permanent residency was smooth and easy. I know I made the right choice. The care, efficiency and attention to detail is superb in relation to all departments: Management, Nursing, Care, Activities, Housekeeping, Catering, and Concierge. Nothing seems to be too much trouble. I enjoy many of the activities; the good food with sensible size portions and relaxing in my very comfortable suite. The welcome extends to my family and visitors which is very important to me. I am impressed at how Fleet Hall works hard to be part of the community by extending out to, and welcoming in, local groups such as nurseries/schools, scout troops, charities, library, choirs, etc. Special occasions are marked with great imagination and attention to detail.
It's a difficult time moving a parent from their long-time home to a new environment and situation for both the resident and the family. All the staff at Fleet Hall have been very friendly, helpful and professional which has made the process easier, offering help and support to all of us. As it's early days for mum's move she is still settling in and finds the other residents' company and the nursing staff support comforting.
A very friendly and welcoming team at Fleet Hall. The staff are kind and considerate of the needs of the residents and very professional in their approach. The daily activities programme offers a variety of activities for all interests - the team have done a fantastic job organising day trips and events. A great Summer Fete in July and we look forward to the Canal Boat trip. Thank you to the Manager and her team.
Having reached the ripe old age of 93, my father wanted to see more of his family and decided to give up living in splendid isolation and move nearer to his children. In looking for a care home within easy travelling distance, Fleet appeared a strong option. The choices were varied and finding a home that shared his values and expectations, we settled on Fleet Hall Care Home. He received a warm welcome from, not only the management, but from everyone at the home. The service has been helpful and professional with every need catered for. From the moment he arrived, he has been helped to live his life to the full, nothing seems too much and no matter what time we visit, we are never more than 15 mins from one of the excellent staff, popping their head round his door, offering refreshment, helping him dress, wash or shower, and making sure that he doesn't miss a meal or opportunity to connect with other guests. I would have no issue with recommending the home, the staff and the facilities.
I can’t thank the staff at Fleet Hall enough for the care and support they are giving my parents. Giving up living independently can be really hard for many reasons but the staff are really thoughtful and supportive, looking out for both Mum and Dad’s different needs and helping them to settle in. My parents are really appreciative of the care they are receiving and say the staff couldn’t be nicer.
Our parents moved into the home together in January 2023 due to my mother's ill health. The process of moving them in was caring and thoughtful, and they couldn't do enough to help make the process for both my parents and my siblings, stress-free. Sadly my mother passed away after only a few months but my father has continued to thrive at the home and we are very happy with the care and support he receives.
This excellent care home is professionally yet compassionately run, by the most incredible and extra special manager, ably assisted by every single member of her wonderful team. These dedicated people work so diligently and well in the many different areas of expertise needed. Whether that be in aspects of the care to residents or their environment, practicalities and administration, staffing the reception and post, papers etc, cleaning, maintenance and upkeep in rooms and the building, different aspects of catering, the activities, outings, events, celebrations, and fundraisers arranged, medical and wellbeing, or liaising with and supporting families, we're very grateful to each and everyone, as they fulfil their own vital individual part in making this a such a caring, nurturing and happy environment. It's very reassuring to know our 95-year-old mother is so well looked after and is in the best and safest hands!
Mum moved into Fleet Hall in November 2023, for respite care after an illness. Mum reluctantly agreed that she had felt scared and lonely at home on her own, and made the decision to become a permanent resident. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They take time to talk to mum and make her feel at home. They have supported mum through a time that has been difficult for her, leaving her home. Staff have also been supportive of me when mum has been poorly. I cannot praise Fleet Hall enough.
My wife is/was a respite resident for ten days. At first glance on entering the place, we were impressed by the sight and atmosphere and promise of personal care available. However, the reality was rather better than either described or expected. Yes, we are paying a good sum of money but are both absolutely pleased by the result and no doubt if and when needed again later as it may most probably will be, this is where we would make first choice.
My family member recently moved into the local Avery Residential Care Home. She has settled in far more quickly than we ever imagined and her overall experience at her new home has been very positive. She visited her old flat to collect a few other personal possessions and commented that it no longer felt like home. This is simply because Avery and their staff have helped her feel so at home and cared for. We are very happy for her.
