View Full Details of The Warren Residential Lodge LtdThis was my stepdad's home for over three years until his sad passing. He was treated by all the staff with utmost respect love and care they truly loved him and were so sad about his passing. Whenever I visited him the staff were always friendly and welcoming, he would always praise the staff for how kind they were to him and how he loved the food every day that was on offer, especially his scrambled egg every day for breakfast! Although he didn't always interact with the activities, the staff went above and beyond to ensure that there were always activities and themed days that made all the residents feel so special. He loved feeding the lambs, peeling the potatoes and even got to practice his golf swing. Despite his deteriorating health all the staff were determined to keep him here as this was his home and cared for him with love and dignity. The Warren is truly a special place and would recommend it to anyone who has to make a difficult decision to place a loved one into this environment.
Having been a regular visitor of a close relative who was a resident of The Warren for two years, I feel that I am in a position to leave this review. Great location for quiet walks, a beautiful lounge, beautiful food, a service dog, activities, and a Christmas disco, all the things you would hope for a loved one. What stood out to me though was the genuine, kind and caring staff for whom nothing was ever too much trouble. I would not hesitate to recommend The Warren to someone who is at a point where they need to make that difficult decision. Thank you to you all.
My mother has been in the home for five weeks now and she is so happy. The management and staff are amazing. When I ask Mum if she wants to go out for a drive or visit the shops, she says no! She is frightened that she may miss some of the activities that are going on in the home. That tells me she is really relaxed, happy and settled. One happy son.
The Warren Residential Lodge is family run and you feel that from the moment you step through the door. It has a home-from-home feel, wonderful home-cooked meals and an abundance of activities with dedicated caring staff. My grannie was a resident at The Warren for four years and thoroughly enjoyed her time there. The Warren became my grannie's second family and it was wonderful visiting and seeing how happy she was there. She loved you all. You are all amazing and as a family, we can’t thank you enough for being there when we couldn’t, during the pandemic, for my grannie. At the end of last year, my other nan moved into The Warren and we wouldn’t have considered anywhere else. The difference in my nan since she has moved in is lovely to see. It’s the magic of The Warren!
My mother was a resident at The Warren Residential Home for four years and she was very happy there. We loved the fact that it's a real home from home, spotlessly clean and is all on one level too, making everything from Mum's care and well being to our visits very calm and relaxed. The fresh home cooked food is a huge bonus and Mum loved being asked each day what she fancied to eat, nothing is too much trouble and we always had peace of mind that Mum was in safe hands. The staff are so welcoming, and their kindness and caring dedication to the residents and families permeates throughout the home. We didn't look any further when we found ourselves needing help quite urgently with my mother-in-law, the management and staff couldn't have been more helpful at such a stressful time, she is now also settling in nicely there. Highly recommend, The Warren really is the jewel in the crown of care homes.
I cannot fault The Warren Residential Lodge. The staff are amazing. You know they are really busy but they do not rush the residents. Mum has been here for eighteen months now, and she really is looked after well which is wonderful for both her and the rest of the family.
My husband has been to the Warren on a number of occasions, so when he told me he would like to stay permanently I felt so relieved. It is like home from home that staff are so dedicated and caring and nothing is too much trouble. It gives me peace of mind knowing he is in capable hands and well cared for.
The Warren is a family run business with a family value that permeates through its caring staff. Residents do feel at ease, being able to arrange their rooms to their satisfaction (where room permits), making it a home. The same level flooring throughout is of benefit to all, thus increasing safety all round. Ambient noise can be an intrusive element from time to time, but cleanliness is excellent. Before deciding on residential care, this establishment should be reviewed.
Mum moved in here in March 2017. We were very happy with the care she received while she was there and found most of the care staff to be very kind, caring people. Mum went into hospital in September and was in for over a month. Mum's needs changed due to her medical condition. What we found very upsetting was that no one from this home went to assess Mum in hospital. They just made the decision she could not go back over the phone after a short conversation with hospital staff, so their decision was based on one person's opinion. Once this was decided they called us and said she couldn't go back and we needed to clear her room as social services were no longer contributing to her care and for every day her things were still there she would be charged the full rate. Therefore that evening my sister went and cleared the room which was very distressing, straight on top of the bad news about our mum. They had 5 empty rooms at the time so there was no need for this frankly unkind and uncaring attitude.
A warm friendly environment. A 'care' home taken seriously.
I am pleased with the care given to my mother. The staff are friendly and always available to speak to. Friends and family who visit mum always say how happy and well looked after she is. It would be nice to see a few more activities being arranged in the lounge i.e bingo etc but I appreciate how hard the staff are working and maybe not always possible to arrange. But a big thank you for looking after mum so well.
My experience of the home is reflected by my response to the questionnaire below. My response to those which are not marked as "excellent" are as follows: - Facilities and cleanliness are satisfactory. Food/drink - Is satisfactory but more variety would be better. Activities - A bit more variety could be used. Safety/security - This has been recently improved. Value for money - As stated below.
The home has a warm and welcoming atmosphere with staff that are friendly, efficient and approachable, nothing is ever too much trouble. My mother is a retired nurse and has nothing but praise for the staff which I feel speaks volumes in itself. They are a credit to their employer and should feel proud of the standard of care they deliver.
