View Full Details of Barchester Wimborne Care HomeThe care home is well-run with friendly, helpful staff - it's much improved over the past twelve-eighteen months. My mother is well cared for and content in her surroundings. There is a good range of activities for residents. Communication with families of residents is good too. Leadership team work well together.
I find Barchester Wimborne Care Home staff very friendly and residents happy and well cared for, their rooms clean and comfortable and they have varied activities. I visit two residents and they have both said how good the meals are.
I was only in Wimborne Care Home for a couple of weeks after a fall by which I had broken my hip. I was impressed with the standard of care which was provided for that short period. The accommodation was adequate, the food good, well cooked and the staff very helpful.
My mum has now spent just over a year at Barchester Wimborne Care Home. We as a family can not fault the care and support she receives from every single member of staff. From admin, housekeeping, maintenance, kitchen, carers and management. Everyone has their role in looking after my mum and they have all become like extended family. The food is excellent, all the organised activities are brilliant and go above and beyond my expectations, love being involved myself when I can. The home itself is always clean and well maintained. Thank you to the carers for the care they show my mum. I can't thank you all enough.
Mum received excellent care, she was respected and treated with great care and dignity during her final weeks. All the Barchester Wimborne Care Home staff are fantastic and I would happily recommend the home. They listen to the views of the residents and family and have great connections with the community and local health centre.
We searched for a nice care home for my auntie and from the moment we walked through the door, we knew this was the place for her. Every member of staff greeted us and all the residents looked very happy. There was plenty going on and everywhere was spotless, modern and spacious. The room we chose looked out onto a beautiful garden. Auntie was not happy about leaving her own home but very soon she was talking about her future there and we saw a smile which we hadn't seen for a long time. It was a joy to see her happy. So much attention to detail here, even the chef visited her and asked about what she liked to eat as she was a vegetarian. She said for him not to make a fuss but true to his word he made her some lovely meals! The new manager there is lovely, she really is committed and dedicated to her job. Sadly auntie had a short time here and passed away peacefully Boxing Day after a lovely day. Thank you everyone for looking after her so well!
Lovely, welcoming care home. Staff are extremely friendly and lovely with the residents. Nothing seems to be any problem. Food is amazing, like going to a restaurant, all freshly prepared and lots of choice! Rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean. Activities are always offered if you want to participate. Pleased we chose Barchester Wimborne Care Home for our mum as we don't have to worry about her like we used to when she was at home. Highly recommended.
I visited a very dear friend yesterday at Wimborne Care Home at Hayling Island. She had had a very distressing few years ending with the death of her beloved husband in the Summer. She was in a very distressed and unhappy place during and after her husband's death. She was put in another care home on Hayling but did not adjust very well. She has only been in Wimborne for a matter of weeks and the transformation is amazing! She was happy and relaxed when I visited yesterday and said it was 'like home from home'. She has settled in wonderfully well, and feels loved and cared for! The food is excellent and she looks forward to her meals; she is cared for in every respect, hair, nails, clean clothes etc; and she enjoys the camaraderie of the other residents and the carers (whom she calls Angels!) as well as the outings in the minibus. I was made to feel very welcome too. I have visited many care homes in the course of my voluntary work over the years - Wimborne is simply the best!
Well-run care home with staff who care and excellent facilities. Can't fault the activities on offer and enthusiasm of the staff. Nice atmosphere in the home and good variety of food. Excellent communication with family members.
My father had excellent care. The atmosphere in the home was like extended family. Nothing was too much trouble from any of the staff and management.
My family has had the privilege of regularly visiting the Barchester Wimborne Care Home over the past two years. Our dad was a resident for two years. We chose the Wimborne after looking at long-term care for our loved one. Having viewed several homes for people with dementia prior to Dad moving in. He thought he 'owned it'. From his daily care, life, entertainment, health, he retained his dignity and self-respect. He kept his sense of humour, was encouraged to be himself. As a family, we saw him change as the dementia took hold but we could visit anytime. It became a second home to us. This last year has been difficult as Dad neared the end of his life, we chose to let him stay at the Wimborne where the skilled team looked after him, kept him safe and 'loved' him, so when the sad time came, his extended were there 24/7. They took it in turns to keep him clean, talk to him, feed him, so his self-respect was honoured. The team went above and beyond whilst still caring for other service users.
A very enjoyable experience, always in capable and safe hands. Thank you.
Presentation of food was excellent which is important in my case as I have little smell or taste to judge by.
I moved my friend to Barchester Wimborne Care Home from another care home for the fact her care was not good, neglect. The vast improvement since she moved to Wimborne is amazing. She interacts in activities, is eating well, I am extremely grateful and happy I found Wimborne.
I found the home comfortable, warm and a happy clean place to be and the food excellent with lots of choice. The carers were very kind and the residents relaxed and content. There are plenty of activities and laughter. Well done Wimborne!
My mum arrived at Barchester Wimborne Care Home on Thursday 25th July. She was very unsure of her surroundings, not too happy that she was not at home after spending seven weeks in hospital. She was in a very low mood with everything and everybody. All we can say is that this care home and all the brilliant staff have completely transformed my mother's state of mind and she has settled in and we can't believe the change in her well-being. She is a different person and we are so thankful to you all.
I was impressed by the friendly staff, particularly the member of staff on reception and the activities co-ordinator. The summer fete had been organised and there was a happy atmosphere amongst the residents. As the owner of a care home, myself, I am pleased to compliment the home.
The difference in my mum in two weeks of being in your care is incredible. Thanks so much for your hard work and attention to detail regarding my mum. I'm sure she is getting back to her old cheeky, happier self.
The care home is wonderful. Always willing to help. Very welcoming.
Mum has been extremely happy at Barchester Wimborne Care Home since she moved in last May. The level of care and support is excellent and all of the staff go out of their way to make life as fulfilled as possible. The surroundings are maintained to a high standard and the residents are encouraged and helped to make the most of all the activities planned.
