My mothr has been in Woodpeckers almost two years, and every night on the phone, she tells me how lucky she feels to be in such a wonderful home. She is full of praise for all the staff, and comments on how everyone is always smiling. I would add that I greatly appreciate the fact that all the staff are so amazingly patient and quite outstanding in their care. Mother describes the food as being 'just the sort of food you would cook yourself'. This contributes to her feeling that Woodpeckers really is her home. When any of the family visit her - particularly her great grandchildren - everyone is warmly welcomed, and encouraged to join her for lunch or tea. Mother loves the fact that there is always something going on, and I appreciate the entertainment staff sending me the weekly activities sheet, with comment and photos of what Mother has been up to. Mother particularly enjoys the visits by the local school children, and the weekly mini-bus outing. She also really appreciated the beautiful garden, which she tells she walks around several times a day. In her words 'she can't find fault with anything' and neither can I!
My mother moved to Brockenhurst Woodpeckers from the North of England from the day she moved into Woodpeckers the staff and residents welcomed her with open arms. Mum is very settled, she loves all the activities and the food. Her bedroom overlooks a field where she loves watching the deer, horses and birds. Mum and I can't thank the manager and his team enough for the kindness in welcoming her to Woodpeckers. I would highly recommend Woodpeckers to anyone thinking about moving a family member to a care home.
My mum has been in Woodpeckers for about 15 months and they have just taken my dad too, which took some organising/re-organising on their part - very grateful to the manager for that. All the staff are super caring in a clearly genuine way- they are genuinely kind. Food, facilities and activities are also top-notch, and the garden is beautiful, including animal carvings, etc, that go above & beyond. A really lovely place.
My mother stayed for approximately three years in the care of Woodpeckers nursing home. My family and I have nothing but great respect for the hard-working staff. They made my mum feel part of a big family and nothing was too much for them to do for her. The garden is beautiful and my mum so enjoyed sitting out whilst she could. I cannot thank them enough for their care and love as she neared and finally came to the end of her life.
My father spent three weeks post-hip replacement at Woodpeckers. He received outstanding care. All the staff were exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. They always greeted him with a smile and a laugh and every day made him smile. The food was always of a high standard with plenty of choice. They managed his medication and exercises brilliantly and his mobility is returning very well thanks to their dedication. Thank you so much for everything.
My mother's care has been exemplary. When she was extremely ill, she was treated with care, safety and dignity and was supported well through her recovery. Woodpeckers is a kind and cheerful place.
Moved into Woodpeckers two weeks ago after struggling to cope at home. Immediately made to feel welcome by the friendly caring efficient staff. They understand my needs, and my medical situation, and have ensured I am comfortable and cared for. Happy to make this my forever home.
The staff are unfailingly cheerful and helpful. The food is very good. I couldn't think of a better place to be to treat my mental condition.
I came into Woodpeckers for respite after a major operation. The care I have had is exceptional and way beyond my expectations. Sufficient that I doubled the length of my stay! The staff are so friendly, so patient and so caring. They come from many different countries and work happily together. Food is delicious and plentiful. A menu created with choices to suit all appetites and diets. Activates are varied from quizzes, games, crafts - something for everyone, morning and afternoon. A beautiful garden has been created with pathways for residents to maintain some form of fitness.
My aunt was very happy with Woodpeckers Care Home from the first time we visited the home and was shown around, we loved the place too. All staff were so kind and helpful, they could not have done their job any better, from the maintenance man, the cleaner, the chef, all her nurses and carers, all took a keen interest in my aunt. It was a pleasure every time we visited her. A very big thank you.
In one word, "outstanding". They could not have been more caring and professional. Always cheerful, nothing was too much trouble. Our mother enjoyed her time here. Thank you.
The staff are very attentive. The food was good.
Did I know I was to walk into my happy, happy dream home - from the most welcome smile and terminology by the receptionist then welcomed as he bought us from our reserved parking place. The welcome was warm, so welcoming and genuine, I felt at home within minutes. The staff are all such a top team, kind, thoughtful and they all listen. I would like to live here forever but I feel that my husband could not live without me. Sometimes we dislike each other and tell each other such but the deep love is deeper than the deepest ocean. 60.5 years married.
I find the staff and management excellent in all areas.
Found all the staff working in Woodpeckers Care Home extremely helpful and willing. Nothing is too much trouble. Happy and smiling.
My husband has been a resident in Woodpeckers for 22 months and my daughters and I have nothing but praise for it. The home always has a warm and welcoming atmosphere at any time of day. The manager and lead nurse are readily available for queries or discussions and nothing is too much trouble. The staff, in every area, are courteous and helpful and the care my husband receives is excellent. The choice of food is varied and caters for all tastes and is of high quality. In addition, there are different activities and outings available. Woodpeckers have a very high reputation in Brockenhurst.
My mother has been a resident at this care home since 2011. She has been extremely well looked after and enjoyed all the activities when she was more able to do so. The staff are excellent, and there is always a warm welcome in this friendly, well-run home. Nothing is too much trouble, and I have no hesitation in recommending this excellent care provider.
In particular, I value the quality and quantity of food and efforts made to meet particular likes and dislikes, given my needs, the chef goes above and beyond to cater for me. The kindness shown by all members of staff has been recognised by myself and my family.
Very nice room with a view of the garden and bird feeders. Excellent food and good ranges of activities, kind and caring care team. I am very happy here.
Excellent care and above and beyond duty. The staff are all incredible, kind, caring and friendly. My mum was kept comfortable throughout her stay and was very happy until she passed away. I can not recommend Woodpeckers enough.
