View Full Details of Woodlands Residential Care HomeI'm always struck by the friendliness and "can do" attitude of the staff. The staff at every level are welcoming and kind. I'm kept well informed about the welfare of my mother and have no doubt whatsoever that she is in the best environment for her stage in life.
Mum has been a resident of Woodlands for a number of years. We have always been more than satisfied with the excellent care she has received. Mum's care needs have changed gradually over the years and her care plan has always been carefully tailored to meet these needs. Staff are friendly and courteous, treating family and residents with respect and empathy. I would strongly recommend Woodlands to anyone looking for care for their relative.
Woodlands has been the home for my 95-year-old father for 2 years now. He suffers from some vascular dementia. In that time I have found that the genuine care and love of the Woodlands team for my father has alleviated his anxiety greatly, and has kept him in good health for all of that time. Any health issues that do occur, (and at 95 they do occur) are dealt with fast professionally and creatively. They have a "can do" attitude at Woodlands. Not only do I trust them completely with my Father's care, but I would trust them with my own should it come to that. Great care homes do exist- they just don't get in the media. Thank you Woodlands.
Communication is excellent, always able to talk to someone when I visit. Staff are very caring and upbeat. Range of activities are great and big push to include all regardless of ability/disability. Excellent individual care when my mother is frailer than usual. My mother has thrived during her time at Woodlands.
I have always found the atmosphere very encouraging and welcoming and the staff friendly and helpful. Any questions are dealt with on the day and this instils confidence. Any health problems have been immediately communicated to me. The residents all seem to be happy and well looked after.
My brother has been living in the care home for the past 18 months. I have to say during this time although his mental capacity has deteriorated due to dementia, his physical health has improved due to the excellent care given by all the staff in the home. Kindness goes such a long way, and that's apparent in buckets.
Mum is now in her third year at Woodlands and is well looked after. She is gradually losing her independence and the team have been very good at responding to this by adjusting the care and support that she needs. This has not been easy for her to accept but the team remain sensitive to her frustrations and mood changes, and are always trying to support her. Communication with the home is excellent - there is always someone available if we need to get in touch, and we are always kept informed of any significant changes or issues. There is also a lot of thought and effort put into organising a wide range of different activities each week for the residents.
Very satisfied, overall service at Woodlands is excellent. My mother is happy and enjoys the activities, and it is nice to know she is being looked after so well. The care provided is great and the staff really helpful. Thanks for all your help.
My Mum has now been in Woodlands for 14 months. She is very happy and enjoys the wide and varied range of activities that are offered and participates in as many as she can. She has made a few good friends since she moved in and has nothing but glowing compliments for the staff and the food. The regular trips out for coffee, museums, to the local pubs and garden centres are all included in her fees and she makes the most of these when she can. The weekly newsletters with pictures of the residents enjoying their activities and the following week's programme are especially helpful. I have found the staff at Woodlands amazing. They are all very helpful, caring and completely "on the ball". The moment I arrive I am made to feel welcome and whoever is on the front desk always knows where Mum is, what she's doing etc. She has personalised her room so it really feels like her home. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Woodlands to anyone who is looking for somewhere for their loved one.
My Mum stayed at Woodlands for 4 weeks for post-hospital respite care. This was arranged very much at the last minute and the resident liaison manager from Woodlands could not have been more helpful, quick, and responsive. We're very grateful. The staff at the home could not have been kinder or more helpful. The room was lovely and the place clean and tidy, with a lovely garden. The admin and finance staff at the main office also could not have been more helpful and informative. Whilst my Mum chose not to engage in any activities, the encouragement from everyone to be more active was wonderful. The food was terrific. What can I say, highly recommended!
Everyone is absolutely amazing. Mum is 100% relaxed, not anxious, feels she can be herself and feels safe, cared or and is happy. She has already made friends, having been carefully introduced to specific residents by the thoughtful staff. As a family, we are incredibly grateful to the owners and staff at Woodlands. I highly recommend Woodlands.
Every time I visit I am made very welcome, especially by the staff member in reception. All the staff look after residents and visitors so well, nothing is too much trouble for them. I have been my friend's guest on three occasions to 'in-house' functions - the catering has been excellent, lovely food and drink. In short, Woodlands is first-class all round. I know my friend is very happy there. If I ever have to go into care I would not hesitate to choose Woodlands. Well done to everyone.
When we were looking for a home for my aunt, we were really concerned to 'get it right' for her. From the initial meeting to ongoing contact with the team we have been delighted and know we made the right choice. Nothing is ever too much trouble and all the residents are treated with respect and known by name. Feedback from her friends who have visited has all been the same, lovely staff and a wonderful home. I would thoroughly recommend Woodlands to anyone who is looking for a home.
My mum has been a resident of Woodlands for seven years. The team at Woodlands have been incredibly supportive even as my mother's condition has steadily declined over this time. They have been very kind towards my mum even if my mum herself has at times been difficult to handle. Woodlands has a comforting family feel, which has meant that my mum has felt content and 'at home'. She loves the outlook of the beautiful garden from her room. She was able to build a rapport with staff, right up until her dementia made this difficult to sustain. As a family, we always felt confident that my mum was getting the best possible care.
We have found the home when we visit to be wonderful and the staff friendly. I spend a day at Woodlands on a Tuesday with Mum and they always make me feel welcome. Excellent treatment by all the staff at Woodlands.
Mum has been here for just over a year. The staff are really lovely. Mum is very pleased with everyone. She can be a bit fussy with food but they do try and accommodate her. There is always entertainment. She does like her own company. She enjoys the dancers and flower arranging. I am always informed if there is a problem, such as a fall or anything medical. Overall it is a lovely home.
Excellent and caring staff. They organised an amazing 100th birthday party for my aunt. There is a sense of attentiveness from the staff and of friendships forming or formed among the residents. Relatives are made to feel very welcome.
I've found all workers/carers here to treat my parents with respect, care and kindness. They are both very happy at Woodlands and seem more stimulated than they were in the final months at their house. I'm happy that they are well looked after and safe there and have some lovely gardens to walk around and sit in when the weather is good.
Our friends are very happy at Woodlands Residential Care Home. The management is first class and the staff are excellent. Which makes me glad that both our friends here are very happy being looked after.
Since Mum arrived 6 months ago I have felt she was cared for in a kind and considerate manner and her dignity was respected. Her wishes were respected and all staff are extremely patient, understanding and helpful. They do their best to treat Mum as an individual and nothing is too much trouble. Staff members are also extremely helpful to us when we visit and communication is very good. Woodlands is a happy and homely care home.
