View Full Details of Meadow House Residential HomeMy Mum has been very well looked after here for many years. As her dementia has progressed Meadow House has stepped up at every stage to give her the best possible care that is exactly right for her. It is a very cozy, friendly place, always kept very clean, with all residents washed and dressed appropriately. The manager and the carers are excellent. They understand and adhere to all regulations around safeguarding and patient care. The food is good and appetizing. Every effort is made to make sure that the residents are eating and drinking well. Attention is paid to activities and relatives receive a monthly newsletter giving details. Above all, it is a very happy and caring home. The senior team has all been there a long time with very little staff turnover, which we feel is very positive and indicative that all is well and that they run a 'happy ship'. I definitely recommend this care home.
My mum was very well looked after here in her final weeks. She always looked cared for and comfortable. The staff took time to make sure we were okay when visiting. I would definitely recommend Meadow House to others needing a care home.
My mum moved into Meadow House in July. Her dementia had got worse and she wasn't able to look after herself anymore. The carers were very good, and she was always washed and dressed and well fed. The home is kept very clean. I would definitely recommend this residential home.
My grandmother has been a resident for a couple of years after not looking after herself properly at home and following a spell in the hospital where she was diagnosed with Dementia. She was quite frail and had lost weight. She is very elderly. We, my wife and I have visited a number of times and have noticed a great improvement in Nan's condition, and she is doing well. Nan's needs are all being met, and the staff appear caring, friendly and polite when Nan becomes frustrated. We are pleased with the state of the areas we have seen, and the place has a friendly feel. We have always been welcomed and offered refreshments and are given updates on Nan's condition. We feel very pleased with Meadow House Residential Home and the excellent staff, and wish to say thanks.
All I can say is the staff are amazing. Always friendly and helpful and I know my mum is being taken care of which makes me feel relaxed about my mum being in a care home. They always treat my mum with dignity and when Mum can be difficult, they totally understand her condition and do their best to calm her and make her feel relaxed. As for visiting, it is just a case of calling the home and telling them I’ll be there shortly and I’m welcomed at the front door with a smile and taken to see Mum who always looks clean and tidy.
I have found the home to be very caring and helpful in looking after my mother and in keeping me informed. I know she is being well cared for which helps me not have to worry. They take care of all her medical needs and explain things to her when she is confused, which happens often as she has dementia. I have found all the staff to be very pleasant and helpful. She is always kept clean and her clothing also, which is not something she could do for herself when living in her own home.
My mum went to the care home in August 2020 after many spells in the hospital. She wasn't looking after herself at home, she wasn't eating properly although she would say she had, she wasn't washing and would sleep in her armchair at night and refused to go to bed. It was a real worry for us all as she was losing weight and was very confused. The staff at the home have been wonderful, especially as it has been such a difficult time but they are really patient with her, even when she gets difficult. She looks so much better now, she has put on weight and it is so good to know she has someone there to look after her and also for her company, while still being able to go to her own room if she wants some time alone. I don't get to visit my mum very often as I live in Surrey and I am struggling to cope after my husband died, so it is such a relief to know she is being well cared for.
It became apparent in 2021 that my aunt required more care than we could provide. We visited many care homes in the area and were becoming more and more concerned that we would be unable to find one to suit my aunt's needs. We arranged to visit Meadow House Residential Home and, from the moment we walked through the front door, we knew it was the one. The staff were very welcoming, the home was so bright and clean, and the room on offer was exactly what we were looking for. In the short time, my aunt has been there, she has blossomed. The staff, the care, the accommodation, the food and the activities are excellent. We believe that we couldn't have found anywhere better and would have no hesitation in recommending Meadow House Residential Home.
As my mother has been a resident for over ten years now, she has become more reliant on the staff as her physical health has worsened and is having to be moved around using a hoist. This causes Mum to get frustrated at her inability to be more independent. My mother has benefited from the art and craft sessions that a member of staff provides, and the family appreciate that. Mum is more talkative when we take her out on Saturdays and she enjoys the food that is provided, especially the liver and onions. We, as a family, realise that Meadow House Residential Home is the best rest home for her, and our interactions with the staff certainly make us happy and satisfied that Mum is in good hands. Keep doing what you do, there is no need to change as nothing is broken.
My mum was a resident at Meadow House from 2008 and it was her world. I know she loved it there and, just as important, she was loved by everyone who works there. In the early years, my mum took part in all of their activities and she had a great time - I had to schedule my visits around her! In the last years of her life, even though my mum was bedbound and unable to communicate, she was never forgotten. Someone always had lunch and dinner with her (the food is amazing!). She regularly had her hair done, manicures and pedicures. I would never have got through any of Mum’s “trials and tribulations” without everyone there and I mean everyone especially as Mum’s condition deteriorated. The facilities are great, the home is ultra-clean, the staff are lovely, caring and understanding. I am in awe of every single person who works there - I know I couldn’t do any of their jobs. I never heard a raised voice from anyone; staff or residents. I don’t have a negative thing to say.
My relative has been a resident at Meadow House for over 6 years. The care she has received has been exemplary in every way. All the staff at Meadow House have been professional, efficient, and above all, tender and caring. I have not once heard a voice raised in anger or frustration. There is a cheerful, atmosphere, and visitors are warmly welcomed. The home was always warm, and clean, and has an ongoing programme of redecoration and upgrading when necessary. The food was also a source of enjoyment and appreciation. When she was able, she was encouraged to participate in a wide variety of activities, which she loved. Earlier in her residency, she was supported and encouraged in her ventures out with friends and family. She was definitely as happy living at Meadow House as she could have been anywhere, given her age and infirmities. As she became more unwell and frail, she was carefully nursed with love and care until her peaceful departure.
My mum suffers from Alzheimer's, and moved to Meadow House in June 2019 after a spell in hospital meant she was unable to look after herself at home. From her arrival, the carers and manager have been attentive and made my mum very welcome. She was not eating and had lost weight, and it was lovely to see how the carers took the time to sit with her and encourage mum to eat and her weight steadily went up. Being an independent person, my mum likes to be out, and she was able to spend time walking around the house and garden. The home is friendly, and you feel welcome whenever you go for a visit. Since mum has been there, the home has been going through a rolling decoration programme, and it has been lovely to see the changes to the house and garden too. It was a shame that my mum's condition has deteriorated and a move to a nursing home was necessary to meet her needs. I will have fond memories of my visits to see mum at Meadow House.
My mother arrived at Meadow House last November and from the first day, the staff at Meadow House took great care and supported my mother in every way possible. My mother suffered with a mental illness as well as the beginnings of Vascular Dementia and I was very impressed with how the staff and residents helped my mother settle in. Her room was based on the ground floor and I could furnish, put pictures up, photos, ornaments, set up her own TV and music system and make her room as cosy as possible. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were amazing. The variety of food for the residents looked tasty and they catered for everyone's diet. There is always something going on during the day with games or entertainment for the residents. The care home provides a mobile hairdresser and a chiropodist. I would definitely recommend this care home. It has been a pleasure to get to know everyone who lives there and works there.
This care home is very pleasant and friendly. Other residents are very nice to speak to and the staff are very understanding and caring towards the residents who are living there. A very good environment and atmosphere. Always putting people first. My uncle is very happy there and enjoys chatting with staff and other residents there. He is always getting fed. It's always clean and tidy.
Meadow House is a fantastic place to be. Not only is it warm and colourful but it is full of fun.
I came into the home after a bad fall which caused me to be in hospital. The carers have always been very good here and I'm always kept clean!
Staff always friendly and helpful when my wife visits her mother who is very happy there. A clean and well-run care home.
The home has been helpful and welcoming to my parent. The home is always clean, the food is good and my father now deceased said the staff were lovely. My mother now seems to have settled into the home.
My granddad gets really good care at Meadow House. Staff and management are great and helpful. If there is an issue, it gets addressed straight away. If my granddad is feeling down, staff will keep an eye on him and make sure he is safe and happy. I would happily suggest this home to anyone.
