View Full Details of Seaview Residential HomeThe manager and her team are all amazing. Seaview is a lovely warm and friendly care home. Mum has been in Seaview now for sixteen months and is still very happy and settled, I wouldn't want her to be anywhere else!
On all my visits I am made welcome by very pleasant staff. My sister is very happy living there and never complains. She is treated with respect and dignity. My only small issue is there should be more activities. But the staff is limited in that aspect. So maybe train or employ someone in that sector.
I have visited the care home a number of times over the past 5 years. The staff are always fantastic, both towards myself, and towards their residents. It's very clear to see how much they care for them.
Mum has been a resident of Seaview for 13 months now, she isn't one of the easiest to care for especially on her bad days when her dementia is worse and she becomes very vocal, I can honestly say I have no worries at all about her care, she is always shown, love, dignity and compassion from management to carers. Seaview is one of the smaller care homes but I think this makes it so much more special, the consistency of the same staff makes it much easier for the residents, there is always laughter in the home which brings many smiles to the residents keeping them occupied. Should my mum have any medical issues these are dealt with immediately by the manager and the staff, and we are kept fully informed. As a family we couldn't ask for anymore, Seaview and its staff have made my mum feel settled, loved and cared about in the home for the past 13 months. Management and staff treat them like family and I'm happy to go visit as it feels like I'm part of that family too.
My wife has been at Seaview for over 4 years and her condition (Alzheimer's) has deteriorated over this period such that she can no longer relate to her surroundings and is completely dependent on the staff for all aspects of her care and wellbeing. Throughout her stay the care my wife has received has been exemplary. Even in her current helpless state she is still treated with dignity, consideration and affection. Seaview is a small care home with very limited facilities but the staff and residents are like a family and the relationships they develop are similarly kind, caring and close. Highly recommended.
My mother has been here for nearly 2 years as was unable to cope at home with her dementia. Her care at Seaview is excellent, all the staff show compassion, respect and truly care for my mother. The staff are all permanent so truly know my mother and understand that there are good, and the not so good, times and know how to help my mother when she is confused or upset. They are always welcoming when we visit. The food is great, and they will always meet particular needs if required. Her room is spacious and clean. I am very pleased that we found Seaview to look after my mother, I can't imagine she'd be better looked after anywhere else.
Mum and I are very pleased with the standard of care that Mum receives at Seaview, where she has been a resident for just over two years now. The staff are friendly and very capable and the atmosphere in the home is professional and caring. Care is tailored to the wishes and needs of individual residents and the staff fully respect Mum's desire for remaining in the privacy of her own room. The management of the home takes pains to organise activities on a regular basis, and to celebrate significant events outside Seaview, such as the Coronation. Family visits are encouraged. I have been very impressed with the precautions taken to limit the importation and spread of covid within Seaview. Seaview benefits from being a relatively small care home, so that it is not an impersonal place with a large staff which can be confusing for some residents. I have no hesitation in recommending Seaview to anyone seeking a safe and caring residential environment.
Mum has always made me promise that I would never let her go into a home and I intended to honour this if possible. Following a fall ending in hospitalisation with delirium, Mum was sent to Seaview as a discharge to assess. This was definitely the best thing to happen and Mum is the happiest she has been since losing Dad three years ago. When the social worker came to assess Mum at the end of the assessment period, Mum told her off for trying to send her home. Seaview is not just a care home, it's a family, not only to Mum but to the rest of the family too. We are always made very welcome and Mum's great granddaughters really look forward to their weekly visit and are thoroughly spoilt by all the staff. The home is well-managed, communication is good and all the staff go above and beyond to ensure the residents are happy and comfortable. I am so happy we found Seaview as I am now able to be a daughter again rather than a carer.
Seaview is a residential home that any service user would be happy to stay at and call their home. They are made to feel comfortable, welcome and safe. The staff have very high standards an the quality of care is extremely high. I would recommend this home without any doubt.
Staff have been very welcoming. Staff have treated my grandad with respect. Manager has been very respectful. Had a day gathering for 90th birthday. Staff overall are great, funny, welcoming, lovely manners and all work together.
The manager was very good with my grandad's birthday and brought lots of food and drink, which I'm very thankful for, and all staff take very good care of him and help him walk and stuff. They're very kind. Thank you.
I came here for my great-grandad’s 90th birthday with my family. We all had a great time together. we sang happy birthday to my great-grandad, and we all loved spending time together. He enjoyed all of his birthday presents and cards, also the food was very lovely, and everyone was lovely.
The manager of the home organised my father-in-law's 90th birthday party. All the family had a great fun time. Food, drinks and decorations were provided. It was lovely to see adults and great-grandchildren all having such a lovely time with their great-grandad. The manager and her staff were so helpful, professional and caring. We all sang happy birthday with a candle cake. The manager kindly took family photos; my father-in-law and his daughter (my wife) were so, so happy. It will be one to remember. We all thanked the manager, along with the cook and carers. Such a lovely homely environment. Couldn’t ask for a better care home for him to live in.
Today, 1st April 2023, a 90th birthday get-together was held for my father-in-law, catered for with a birthday cake and buffet in a privately decorated room. He so enjoyed the interaction with everyone. He has made this his home, and the staff around him, he thinks the world of. Many thanks to the staff and the manager for allowing this to come together. Well done.
I was attending my father's 90th birthday party at the care home today, and I must say the staff and manager were very helpful to my family and my father, who had a great time. The support we all had was tremendous, and I believe my father loves the whole atmosphere. Many thanks.
My grandma passed away on 24/01/23. She had been a resident at Seaview since November 2021. The staff were incredibly supportive, caring and amazing, including the cooks and especially the manager. Without the compassion and care of all staff, my grandma wouldn't have stayed a week, let alone 14 months, and she grew to love every single one of them. In her final few days, things were very traumatic for her and us as a family, but we were all looked after so incredibly well with food, drink and being able to stay with Grandma 24 hours for her last remaining days. The manager was exceptional in taking care of us all, going above and beyond her job to help us all. She stayed with us and didn't go home, despite having family commitments herself - she remained dedicated to my grandma, to our family and to Seaview. We have no way of thanking the manager enough for her kindness, compassion and love she has given to my grandma and my family; without them being at Seaview - there would be no Seaview.
Mum moved in last July, and we weren't sure how she would take to it as she had been a bit confused and struggled to live alone. The team at Seaview not only helped Mum to settle-in but really helped to reassure me and the rest of my family by keeping in touch, understanding our concerns and worries and giving Mum the privacy and dignity she deserves. This was a difficult decision for us but turns out to be one of the best decisions we made for Mum. The care is excellent, the people are friendly, and Mum really loves it there. What an amazing team. Thank you to all of the team at Seaview. Their care and understanding are outstanding.
Very pleased with the level of care provided for my elderly mum, who suffers from Dementia. The staff are always friendly and helpful and always make you feel welcome upon arrival when visiting my mum. The care home is always well-presented and has good cleanliness.
Mum came into Seaview three years ago, and to date, the care she has received has been excellent. She is always clean and contented, well dressed and comfortable. The few medical issues she has experienced have been dealt with carefully and promptly. She is now in the advanced stage of dementia, but the carers treat her with real respect and affection - always loving and patient with her. Seaview may not be the flashest care home, but it has the feel of a family home, and I feel welcome whenever I visit.
Mum has been living at Seaview for 2-years now, and during that time, there have been many restrictions due to Covid, but the management and staff at Seaview have excelled themselves with making visiting and access to Mum as easy and frequent as possible, always prioritising the health, welfare and safety of the residents. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and they provide excellent care for Mum. They support her to join in with any activities that are being offered; Mum particularly enjoys the singalong session, which happens on a regular basis and raises the spirits of the residents bringing fond memories to them all. Mum's health needs are regularly reviewed and discussed with my sister and I, so that we can all make informed decisions that will benefit Mum in the future. The manager is very accessible and easy and open to talk to, especially when making special requests; she is very proactive within the home. As a family, we believe that Mum's move to Seaview has been an excellent choice.
