View Full Details of Woodlands Care HomeMum did not want to go into a home and it was the hardest decision myself and my daughter made. But I could no longer look after Mum at home and we had lost the mother/daughter relationship. The staff at Woodlands made Mum feel at home and she now loves it. But most of all they helped us as well. Recently Mum was taken into hospital and one particular carer (she,ll know who we mean) was incredible. Thank you Woodlands. We love you.
The care of my increasingly frail mother has been exemplary. Nothing has been too much trouble for the staff in ensuring that she is as content and comfortable as possible. The management and staff have been diligent and alert during recent health setbacks and I have had complete confidence in their actions taken and in keeping family members informed. The staff are well versed in meeting my mother's needs and desires and treat her as an individual. Thank you to Woodlands for all that you do.
Mum moved to Woodlands mid-October, she had recently lost her husband, my dad. Woodlands were wonderful with their welcome for Mum. The care, compassion and empathy are excellent. The activities are amazing, always something for Mum to join in when she feels up to it. Nothing is too much trouble, the staff are always attentive.
Highly recommend! The management team were 1st class, very knowledgeable and more importantly it's all about the care and welfare of my dad. All the staff I've met and seen are happy and bring a togetherness of one big family, which was very important as this was the first time my dad had been in this type of environment. The moment he walked through the door staff and residents came towards him and made him more than welcome! He's so happy now he's getting the care and companionship around him. He actually rang me to say he loves it. I live in Scotland and we've only just lost my mother so it's still very raw for us as a family and especially for my dad. The staff even let off a balloon with him with a message for my mum. I'm more at ease now knowing my dad is safe and getting well looked after and it's real peace of mind especially with the distance apart. If my personal review helps anyone who's looking to place a loved one into a rest home then please enquire here first, their priority is always care first.
First visit to see my mum along with my wife. Met by a very competent and polite staff member. Had to wait a short while before the head of caring showed us to my mum's room. She was very pleasant and knowledgeable about my mum's care and well-being. She also assisted me in setting up the app. Was asked if we wanted to stay for lunch, which was gratefully accepted. Staff were friendly and happy to talk to us.
Dad loves living at Woodlands. He enjoys being around the residents and staff. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. So when he asked to have all his family and friends visit, I approached them to ask if it was okay to take them to the dining room between meals. On the day we were all welcomed, the room was prepared for us and we were offered drinks. Dad was so happy and we were grateful for the opportunity to get together for him. Thank you so much for making and keeping my dad safe and happy.
What an incredible turnaround! So many great changes that have made all the difference to residents and their families, it is now a well-managed home and the entertainment for the residents has improved tenfold.
Mum came for respite care but stayed. The managers were skilled and helpful from the outset, guiding us through the (new for us) process but also giving us time and space to come to terms with the difficult decisions involved. Having checked the QVC (Good) it was the kindness of all the staff (including the cleaners, kitchen and maintenance staff as well as the lovely carers) that persuaded us that Mum could be happy staying at Woodlands. Visiting is truly unlimited and we have been able to remain involved with Mums care and take her out as much as we have wanted to. There is good contact between the home and families enhanced by the new app. There is a dedicated events manager so each week has is a good selection of planned activities but there is also space for private conversations and rest. The garden is lovely and is well-used when the weather is warmer. We feel Mum is treated as a unique individual with consideration of her personality, well-being and safety.
My husband needed a week's respite care when I attended a family wedding. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and special attention was to ensure my husband could hear as he has limited hearing in one ear only. The home seemed a happy, active place and all the staff I met were friendly, efficient and helpful. The previous three respite experiences have not gone well but I would be happy for my husband to go to Woodlands again should the need arise.
Lovely, caring home with wonderful staff. So glad my mum is in Woodlands. Staff take time to understand individual needs for residents. Seeing a loved one deteriorate isn’t easy but it’s so nice to see the attentiveness by staff. Thank you for everything you do.
My father is exceptionally happy in the home. He benefits from having all the entertainment in front of him. I like the fact that he has to walk to the dining room to eat. Whenever I visit, the staff are all fully aware of his needs. They are exceptionally caring to all the residents. I am especially impressed with the speed to which residents' requests are attended to. My father particularly enjoys the singing and the song choice has been honed to his very specific requirements.
The level of care and nursing is excellent. I have spent a great deal of time engaged with staff at all levels. Each staff member has been professional and attentive. Room size is restrictive for residents, staff and visitors. However, the staff engage with each request to make the room more comfortable within the possibilities. I have not met a more engaging manager or team of staff. Well done to all at Woodlands!
Excellent care home highly recommended. My father moved in just after Christmas and their care has been exceptional. I have been impressed by the bed monitors that alarm when my father gets out of bed. The food is excellent and the entertainment very good and more importantly they have regular entertainers. My father settled in quickly and walks in the gardens every day. I highly recommend the Woodlands Care Home.
Very friendly, caring staff who take pride in caring for our loved ones. Very clean, tidy and well-run home. Daily activities to interact with residents, games, quizzes, etc. Food very good and available at all times. Management very professional. Thank you.
Woodlands Care Home is very welcoming. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. My auntie has a lovely, bright room. It is warm and comfortable with a good view of the garden outside from her window. The bed linen is clean and we are always offered a hot drink and biscuits when we visit. My auntie seems very content here which makes me feel better.
The manager went above and beyond to settle my mother into her new environment when she moved in in November 2023. The process was not the easiest but one staff member in particular was on hand when I needed questions answered and met my mother's needs and care medically with meds and doctors.
My brother has been a resident at Woodlands for 12 months and is not very well. He receives a lot of care and attention from management and staff alike who are helpful, friendly and responsive to his needs. Being 100 miles away from Woodlands, I am unable to visit my brother as much as I would like, but the staff go out of their way to keep me informed and to put my mind at rest by regularly communicating by email or phone. I cannot praise Woodlands highly enough for making my brother welcome, secure and feel at home. Thank you to everyone at Woodlands.
Choosing a care home is something I had never thought of however the loss of Mum's husband and dementia setting in, realisation was that she couldn’t live by herself. responsibility of finding somewhere that would care for Mum felt such a huge decision. I called Woodlands, and they were immediately wonderful, putting any worries at ease and understanding the healing process Mum would need. Mum has been a resident for four months and they care for her diabetic requirements. Mum feels safe and happy and wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. All staff are so friendly from carers, laundry, activities, maintenance and even the chef says hello! The care and attention they give my mum is incredible as are the daily activities that are arranged. Mum loved going to the local nursery school for a Christmas lunch! When we take Mum out for lunch the staff curl her hair and give her a kiss goodbye. Thank you so much Woodlands for making such a difficult, heart-wrenching decision such a smooth transition.
Lovely smiles by staff members on my arrival. A warm, comfortable atmosphere. Friendly staff. Encouraged to take part in activities by excellent staff. Felt very welcome and my relative is happy in the care home.
Woodlands treat my husband with care and dignity. They try hard to get to know him as an individual, meeting his particular dietary requirements well, and taking time to talk to him and share jokes when busy schedules allow. They are good at keeping me in the loop where medical issues or changes in his condition are concerned.
