View Full Details of St Audrey's Care HomeMy mother has been at St Audrey's Care Home for 4 years. I have always found it to be warm, friendly and welcoming if family visits. Family and friends are encouraged to join in activities and meetings. The house is spacious with a lovely garden. My mother's bedroom has views over the garden. The staff are friendly, approachable, professional and there is good staff retainment. As my mother's condition has deteriorated staff have been very understanding, patient and supporting our needs.
My husband has been cared for here for four years now and I am very pleased. He is difficult and disabled. The staff continue to show kindness and know how to help him. A very good care home.
St Audrey's is situated in lovely grounds and has pleasant views from the bedrooms, even those facing the back of the house. When we 'checked in' my mother a few weeks ago, the deputy manager took great care and interest to understand Mum's needs, likes and dislikes. She and her team know all the residents well and are very chatty with them. Whenever I visit, they know what Mum has been up to that day and who she has been interacting with, which is comforting. The home has a warm and happy feeling. The staff are great, but it's evident that they are stretched at times (that's not a fault of this home; recruiting for care specialists in the current market is challenging everywhere!). Facilities are generally good, and some of these are currently being updated/replaced - so the management is clearly striving to reach the highest standards.
My wife went to St Audrey's Care Home three years ago. My wife is cared for by a great team of staff and carers, and they are doing a great job. My wife has a lovely bedroom with pictures of the family around. There is a nice dining room plus lounge where they all meet up. In the summer, they can go out in the grounds. I think my wife could not be better looked after.
St Audrey's have provided excellent care for my father for the last 4-years with exceptional professionalism and dedication to the care service they provide. When my father first needed care, we visited many homes, however, once we had visited St Audrey's and met the team, it was clear that this was the environment where we wanted my father to live. The manager and her team show great respectfulness and kindness that anyone would want for a family member entering care.
The care home has done an excellent job keeping the residents safe from the Covid epidemic. Zoom meetings and emails have kept me informed during the period of non-visits and also subsequently. The care and commitment by the staff to my mum and her well being have been exceptional, and this, I believe, has resulted in my mum living to a great age and still loving tea and cake. The home itself is well run and well organised. It is clean and always smells fresh. There are activities for those residents who are able to join in. The staff are very friendly and approachable and seem to take pride in their work. I would and do recommend St Audrey's when asked.
The staff and management are very friendly and adhere to strict Covid rules, hence no resident Covid cases. The staff look after their residents with much care, and nothing is too much trouble for them. The home has a lovely garden with facilities for the residents to enjoy.
My mother was a resident at St Audrey's for nearly four years when her advancing dementia meant she was no longer able to live alone. The care she received during her time there has been extremely good, and she was made to feel very welcome from her first day. The staff showed patience and understanding when Mum had difficulty communicating her wishes, and she was always treated with great respect and dignity. Great care was always taken to dress her smartly, she was never rushed, and she was often encouraged to choose a pretty necklace or earrings to complete her outfit. Mum passed away last week, and the care, attentiveness, kindness and compassion shown by the staff has been outstanding. I was contacted in good time and was at my beloved Mum's bedside when she passed. My brother and I extend our warmest thanks to everyone who made the last years of Mum's life comfortable and safe. I will continue to recommend St Audrey's to anyone who is looking for an excellent care home.
Excellent service. Staff are friendly, helpful and contactable. Mum seems generally well cared for and quite happy. Only problem really is the difficulty in seeing my mum with this CoVid pandemic, but that is partly due to my own circumstances. Wife is waiting for surgery.
My brothers and I were worried about choosing the right home for our mother. Having read and watched on TV, the treatment some homes were dishing out to their residents, ultimately resulting in the closure of the home in question. We tried a couple of local homes for a taster week or so, and that included St Audreys in Hatfield. We landed on our feet at this home. A lovely, homely atmosphere with a genuinely caring environment for all the residents and each individually on a 1-1 basis. I cannot fault them. They deliver exactly what we are looking for. Our mother is happy, relaxed and very pleased. She is 96, but you wouldn't know it. Thank you, St Audreys. First prize at the first attempt.
I have no complaints to make at all. I have admired how the staff have managed despite Covid-19 and the problems that the new Brexit measures have introduced.
Good, friendly care.
I arrived at St Audrey's Care Home having been recommended by a neighbour whose grandmother had been happy here. Everyone I met here, without exception, has always been very helpful, very kind and very caring. I've been very well looked after and have never been afraid to ask for help for everything I needed.
There are not enough superlatives in the English language to praise the staff and care that my mom received at St Audrey's. My mom went to St Audrey's originally for some respite care after suffering a catastrophic stroke from which she never recovered. The manager and the care team at St Audrey's are so kind and compassionate and did everything possible to ensure the safety of patients and went out of their way to make arrangements for visits to take place in the safest possible manner and set up a schedule to allow restricted visits behind a screen. My mom loved music, and the care team would sing along with her. Sadly, she suffered another stroke and became unconscious. I was then allowed to spend as much time as I wanted with my mom - obviously wearing PPE etc. Her room was beautifully and tastefully decorated, spotless and the home smells lovely and fresh. I cannot recommend and praise St Audrey's enough.
Moving Mum into St Audrey's from Hospital during the lock-down has been challenging for all concerned, but the staff there have handled the logistics, isolation and making Mum feel at ease during this testing time, I could not be more pleased with how this has gone. Although I have not been inside the care home myself (due to lockdown), Mum has told me its all really nice. The home is in a lovely setting. All in all, I am very pleased with how things have worked out and the care and attention Mum is receiving Keep up the good work St Audrey's.
My mother has been a resident here in this beautiful character building for just over 12 months. The care staff are excellent and take a great interest in all of its residents. The office staff equally are very efficient in the running of this home, this has been no more evident during this current Covid crisis with all staff pulling together. The home is clean and the food is good. Regular activities are provided which are well attended. I could not wish for my mother to be in a better facility and I have absolute confidence in all of its staff to produce a safe environment.
I could not wish my mother to be in any other care home. The staff and care provided are excellent. She is happy and feels secure there. The care homes' health and safety policy towards the Covid pandemic has also been to an excellent standard. I would recommend this care home without hesitation.
The level of care my nan continually receives by the care team; is exceptional. Always to the highest standards in all aspects of care I would want for my nan. I feel my nan is safe with the 24-hour care which is provided. Myself and my family always feel included with all the staff team, engaged within their care and support.
When my grandmother first came here I was worried that she wouldn't settle and I didn't want the upheaval of finding another place for her, but, she actually was very happy here and she was relaxed. 'Mostly' the staff I dealt with were very attentive, happy and helpful. It is not clinical, it feels very relaxed. Thank you all for taking care of my Nan, it means everything to me.
Just to say I am very impressed with the activities that take place daily in this care home. They are run by the activities coordinator and a young work experience girl, they both put in a lot of dedication and effort. They arrange daily activities like Bingo, Singing, Quiz Games, nail painting and evening visits out to the pub or theatre, and by far the best they have monthly themes ie Poppy Day, Halloween, Burns Night, amazing displays by staff and residents, worth a look in.
